It's like a "Choose one or both of these b/c everything else is fucked up" sort of mentality. By decriminalizing weed the dangers associated with criminal elements disappears as well. When it comes to organized crime, you are just as likely to get hurt or killed if you are dealing with baby food as you are dealing with pot.

Marijuana has been demonized (for approx. the last 80 years) by the establishment (and friends) in order to suppress its medicinal (and textile) value in favor of other less abundant, therefore more controllable and profitable ones. Prior to this era, the medical community was enamored by it and preferred it over other medicines in use today, namely aspirin.

The moment this thing hits the streets, I can already imagine people being high all the time, too high to being productive, too high to run cities, too high to drive. This will blow up in people's faces.

People will tell you to just try it, it's no longer illegal, you take a whiff and your money will be going to getting that whiff again.

I prefer alcohol , why? Because alcohol is cheaper + weed is shit, 1 g cost about €20 on my country and all you can get is some weird ass feeling for 10 mins lol.

I can keep weed in the house.  If I have some, I just want to smoke it till it's gone.  I guess that's a form of addiction, but i don't crave it when I don't have it.   :-\

Alcohol is so much worse for the body though.  I guess if I had to choose a vice, it would be weed.

If you don't mind either, then I'd say both. You can learn something from both (other stuff too). The trick is to be aware when you acquire the knowledge you're after so you can part ways. Indulging past the point where you've got what you need will only impact you negatively.

And how much does it cost to get drunk? Probably the same. And you feel like shit when you wake up in the morning. If weed was legal you would have access to better quality and at cheaper prices which wouldn't compare to the shit shwag weed you're probably getting on the streets.

I'd find a different dealer.  If you don't smoke every day, good weed should keep you buzzed for 3-5 hours.

Great weed will leave you buzzed much longer than that, but I'm not much of a smoker so maybe less effects me more. Some of the Medicinal Cali weed they have these days is some strong shit.

I only ever drink alcohol on special occasions so just a few times a year, but i did smoke weed for a few years and while it lasted without paranoia it was good but after awhile it started making me paranoid so i quit and have done ever since. I still would prefer weed to alcohol if it didn't have the side effect though it can be spiritual and relaxing.    

I go for alcohol lol, I tried weed but since I don't smoke, most of it never gets to the lungs lol.

Started a weed lover, just recently though this year I have stopped it and cigs. Was never really a drinker once or twice a year, now I am mr soba. Weeeed over Alcohol all day though if I flashed back a year/

Weed - I can't stand alcohol anymore which is strange because I loved it as a teenager lmao Has to be some decent stuff, though - I hate feeling too lethargic and not getting anything done the way most commercial herb does.

Never liked the taste of booze, and drugs have never been appealing to me.

In my younger days I did enjoy both but alcohol used to get me in trouble quite often and weed used to calm me down while I smoked it. Looking back though I prefer neither and am great full I stopped it in my adult years, they are just no good.

Booze in a social setting like a party or hangin out with large group of mates. I sometimes enjoy a bit of a spliff if I'm just chillin out watching a movie or to help me sleep. I think I smoked way too much weed in my younger teenage years.  I'm 23 years old now and no longer enjoy it. Had to quit smoking due to the fact that it started giving me panic attacks. Anyway say no more through fear of self-incrimination  :P

Weed is better, but I also drink alcohol. Alcohol make you retarded and violent in some scenario, but you are more likely to have "imagination and fun" with weed.

i think a distinction can be made. alcohol is definitely more potentially destructive, and depending on the person, can be dangerous for others and the community at large. and frankly, smoking weed is just a more important part of my lifestyle. so while i am a responsible drinker, i recognize that one > the other.

As a teenager Smoking weed is of course one of my hobby that I stopped till now "safe & full stop", but I believe  studies have found that and again  it is indeed " weed is safer than alcohol". In other hand, I love also to drink alcohol and beer, just enjoy how to be drunk especially when I'm with my friends.
