Title: When will 0.001 BTC trades be available?
Post by: Hezekiah1997 on May 26, 2011, 12:30:21 AM
I was curious if we were waiting on 2013 for this to happen or if this is already going on...

You could do it now if you wanted, though the tx fee will kill you. Next release 0.3.22 this will be fine.

So now the fee is larger for smaller transactions ? will it always be like this?  This ain't right.

No, the fee is larger for spending recently received small coins.

Actually priority is higher for larger tx which means that in order to get the same priority are a larger tx a smaller tx needs a larger fee. This is not hard coded it's just the default rule and is in place to reduce spam. I don't think it needs to be like that (some tiny min fee (as optional miner rule, not forced) will disincentivize spam just fine) and it will change in the future.
