A new forum is coming and it will include avatars. You need to wait six minutes before you post but this time limit will go downm the more activity you get.

The 45 second wait time between login attempts is not going to change and is the same for everyone. It is to prevent people from trying to brute force passwords.

Just looked at his other posts. Think he's just trolling.

Makes sense half of that list are the traditonal newbie restrictions on the forums
With an exception to Avatars and login attempts.

The same thing can be accomplished with a 3 second delay per attempt and locking an account after 5 attempts, but whatever. I have a set of 5 passwords that I rotate on my log-ins and sometimes forget which I use on what site... so a 45 second delay per log-in attempt is ridiculous.

The longer the delay the more difficult it will be to brute force a password. It is especially important to make it a long time between attempts because people can likely get around the delay to an extent (via changing their IP address after each attempt - but they would have limited numbers of IP addresses).

It would also not be feasible to lock out accounts after 5 attempts as people do not need to have an associated email address nor secret question with their account.

I mean lock it for an ten minutes and then unlock. But whatever.... People around seem to lack any kind of logic... so this argument isn't going to go anywhere. So fuck it...

Simple become an active member don't troll anywhere or scam and maybe ask mod to remove some restrictions like posting or be allowed to post in sections that are limited until limit is lifted or removed. I remember first joining here asking for them to be allowed to post in other sections as was limited to beginners section at fist but soon went up the ranks. Simply follow rules and guidelines and ull soon fly up the ranks. Or your other option if you where wanting access to areas and quick maybe buy an account off someone but then comes the risk of that being possible hacked or a scammer selling. Best option become a active member and build up though rank system and await the new forums like many are awaiting. Cant wait for that to come.

OP, do you realise what the forum would be like if those restrictions weren't in place? Mods are already doing a good job removing spam, but could you imagine how things would be like if there were no restrictions to prevent automated spamming?
