95% of the way towards NEO 3.0 Release!
Looking forwards to see the use case of this blockchain rise this year.

Okay guys, hope we are all staying safe?
I felt I should get the opinion of some veteran traders here about investing in altcoins. What do you usually look out for before picking tokens for mid-term or long-term investment?
1. team behind the project? 2. type of blockchain? 3. real-world use-cases? 4. partnerships? 5. period of existence? 6. Stability of the token? 7. Just name them, anything you look out for
Everything you have mentioned above will factor into how much I would invest into an Altcoin, If it is a solid top 20 coin, that has been around for years, has growing functionality and real world use cases, then i would probably invest 5-10x as much into a coin like this than I would say an ICO who have a good team and roadmap but no current use cases or track record

The Issue with a large price rise on XRP is that whilst the Ripple corporation holds so much still, if it suddenly spiked to $14 and they flooded the market with another Billion ripple, it would quickly cause prices to deteriorate.
The project itself does not need XRP to work for banks, just the network which makes is a less viable investment in my view than other top 10 cap coins.

Very hard to predict, the best bet is to find coins that are unlikely to plummet, so stick with top 20 coins, whilst they may not rise as fast as really low cap coins, they wont drop as fast either so your 1000 shouldnt turn to 100 if there is a sudden drop over the next few weeks.

I've been holding most of my alts since 2017 and will continue to do so for the foreseeable future, I took my investments out in the pump of Dec 2017 so its only profits im playing with now.
Lets see if another major rally is about to begin.
Its not a bad coin,
It went from $5 down to 25 cents, which is actually a smaller drop than other high profile coins such as Dragonchain, which is down over 30x now.
So I think if the market recovers, and this coin can get a higher market share of the Privacy market, then it has a chance to hit $5 again in the future.
I think coins such as NEO and ADA will be good long term holds,
If they hit all their road map they may be top competition for Ethereum and a new wave of DAP's in the future.
It depends on the coins useage,
If it has a real world user base, and offers a purpose then it will survive and probably flourish in a few years.
If it is just a pump and dump coin, It may have one last hurrah before fizzling out.
well, everything has crashed since this post,
Coins like PRL might be a good shout now, they are around 4c from over $3 in January and have a working test net product.
with the current price, buying online storage is great value, and the price may well rise back up in the future
I would say that ADA is a good shout for an Altcoin,
Once they hit their stride with the roadmap developments they could be a real contender for the future, in essence ethereum 3.0
Agreed that it is annoying to watch,
My logic is as follows, the coins that I now hold I believe have a use case in the wider world, and once their roadmaps pick up steam, should have real value,
Currently the market is still almost all speculation with very few mainstream products, once this starts to change, the market should pick up.
For coins with no real use case, get rid of them, they might have their pump and dumps but will never truly have long term value.
There will be a resurgence of coins that have actual use cases, for example they are required to use a network or purchase things,
Coins that are just around for the sake of having a coin are ones that will probably die out.

Personally I would go 10 NEO and the rest in Ethereum,
That way you cover both bases, you can sit back and let NEO make you a few GAS over the next two years as well, which generally holds around 1/3-1/4 of the value of NEO, so if NEO does go to 1000 you also have 2-3 gas at 250-300 ea as a little bonus.
Generally there isnt a whole load of small cap projects with a trading volume of over $1m a day, I may be wrong but last time I checked I could hardly find any around the 5-10m range with that kind of volume.
I have ended up getting rid of most of my "Shitcoins" selling these off from January - March,
the coins I am left with now I will hold for the long term (3+ years) such as ADA and NEO
It's going to be tough for Ripple to hit $5 in my view,
Once all the coins are released there will be 100bn XRP in the market,
At $5 a coin that puts its market cap on 500 billion, more than most of the largest companies on earth who reach billions of people, which is unrealistic
At the start of 2017 the market cap was around 15bn, its not 15x higher than that in the space of 18 months, just because its gone down from its ATH does not mean it is Dead at all.
ADA is one for me to stock up on during a dip,
Its not even got a working product yet, so once it does the price will surely rise as ICO come onto its platform etc
Nope, it was all based on the SEC decision hype which went the wrong way unfortunately,
Next year fingers crossed for a much better year!
