Damn, they're not making this easy! ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif) I'm in NY. I want to buy some of the alt cryptos like Dash, Ripple, Monero. I just found out I can't use Poloniex or Kraken in NY. I can use Coinbase but they only offer Bitcoin, Eth and Litecoin. Anybody found a good exchange for alt cryptos that a NY'er can trade on? Thanks. Have you tried coinbase?

Because the investors flow, you have people who are buying because somebody told them it was a good investment, you have others who are buying because they believe its a good investment, you have people changing thousands of other cryptos into BTC, etc... With the huge population who uses bitcoin and the facility they can move their money comes a very big volatility. nonetheless this last week and a half it remained very stable compared to the previous ups and downs

You need to be in control of yourself. This means calculating every single decision you do. If you manage to subtract the feelings from the decisions you make you will be able to null the greed and generate profits.

Hold and buy once it reaches the bottom of the dip. If you are knowledgeable about your investment you will never sell when is going down, unless you are 100% sure it will crash and break.

Formal education is a shortcut, for business there are thousands of qualities that are not taught anywhere. You need to know how to self motivate yourself, how to manage the tilt and the bad times, how to manage people, etcetera. You can learn techniques in university, however without real life skills you won't be able to move far away.
People in business hires people who hold degrees as most of them will have already developed this natural talents, however the best entrepreneurs in the world didnt' receive formal education on the fields they are proficient on.

It will not die, mining is running an algorithm that can change to make the coin more efficient. All coins are computer programs that can be improved and modified to accomplish any given set of rules. The objective of mining is rewarding the people who is in charge of confirm the transactions therefore if the algorithm change mining will be possible again.

I don't think so either, with not that many adopters it will not raise it's price. You might want to invest some cash if you have faith that it will eventually go up as well. But assuming it will pass BTC is pretty crazy.

Since a little while ago there are many websites right now offering bitcoin payment for global customers, I purchased a big Dota 2 Axe statue using bitcoin 1 year ago as this guys charged no fees for Bitcoin payments, I believe these guys were cryptoenthusiasts eager to obtain BTC safely and it was actually a really good plan. I mean you as a company cannot get scammed when accepting BTC payments.

This was the #1 objective of the week for hackers. Although I'm sure he is laughing on his chair and wasn't hacked. For these who didn't get baited it was a decent opportunity to make some cash in the artificial 'pump;

All Cryptos are ponzis. Heck the stock market is too. What's wrong with that? We like people paying more than we did. Gold bugs are always pumping their metal trying to get buyers. Musical chairs are fun! Enjoy the ride!
If everyone had your knowledge the cryptoworld would be an empty and worthless place. So many truth in one sentence, but indeed the entire economy is like that.

Glad to see you actually got your stuff back. This guys are having a very hard time processing transactions as the network volumes are insanely high. I assume most companies didn't expect such jumps in the price and the incoming transaction amounts therefore their infrastructure wasn't proper to handle it. Hope the exchanges invested some cash to avoid this problems in the future.

Blockchain is the first step for a cashless society. A public transparent ledger which is not controlled by any entity cannot damage or help any given country, still, cashless is a very abstract term to imagine in the today's world. How could you buy drugs or perform any illegal transaction? If something is applied to everyone privacy is lost too. You can control your cash, even in huge amounts if you are smart, you can do the same with your Bitcoin but just because no one else is looking at your transactions.

What is the future of Bitcoin BTC? Will it become a mainstream currency, or will its popularity wane, and why?
I think in the future bitcoin will work as a backup for other crypto likely the GOLD of the internet.

A couple days ago I transfered enough from my bank account to buy 1 Bit coin. While waiting for the $ to make it from the bank to the exchange I had $75.00 invested so could use it to practice with. Keep in mind that I had no experience with bit coin trading and my past day trading did not go well.
Today I saw that SC (Siacoin) was above 10% and volume was above 10,000. It was also very active pumping up and down. I did four buy and sell trades, not aiming for much more than 5% profit on each one and increased my $75.00 to $91.00. It was a great leaning experience. Also very humbling because on the first trade I made a mistake and lucked out.

People who panic don't should be messing with the crypto deals unless that panic is making them on profit.
