1  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bter.com cannot withdraw currency/funds on: March 20, 2014, 07:33:31 AM

This is Not the Problem from Bter you used a bug in their System, you are the dumbass. Now you Cry that they checked it and want to have their litcoins back? You rly cant understand? Guys like you bring trusted exchange down. I really Hope that you lost all your Money. It is just fair Cause you Stolen Coins from others Cause of a Bug.

Atleast Check your respect in Chat, for this you should lose much much more.

Scammer got scammed Should be your topic Cheesy

I Trade a Lot of bter and i Never ever had problems.

Best Regards

rodeoric

Exactly, if you read what he wrote. He specifically states that he oversold at $1.60, and bter are only recovering what has been lost.

This person seems like a guy called sathoro that I conquered in a discussion.

They backtrack when they discover they have implicated themselves in fraud, trying to erase their history.

---

I am not that big of a trader to be moving around 13,000 LTC at it's bottom of $1.6 and not notice that I somehow had an extra $20,800 worth of coins that I shouldn't have had due to a trading malfunction or withdrawal/deposit malfunction.

You think I exploited a bug in their system? You are wrong. Tell me how you think I could possibly do that. Also, I NEVER had 1300 litecoins. I should not have allowed him to say I ever had that many litecoins.... I would have noticed around $20000 USD extra sitting in my account one day! That is a TON of money to me...

First of all there is a backtrack to 1,300 LTC from 13,000 LTC to justify that they didn't see the extra amount withdrawn. This would have only been less than $2,000 and thus might have been easily detected by you.

Furthermore, you do not release the trading history for us to analyse. You might have been stealing 50 LTC at a time using a malleability transaction bug, and in total this summates to 1,300 LTC.

Piece of shit BTER wont let me withdraw my LTC

I told myself I wasnt going to send coins there again. Should have listened to myself.

EVIL SCAM EXCHANGE BTER

Would you care to elaborate or present a video of what the problem is? It is very easy to setup fraps to capture the errors you may be experiencing. There may also be delays in processing your withdrawal or deposit. The number of confirmations required is actually more than is stated in the portal to prevent transaction malleability fraud. This is normal for bter...

I'm excited, as it is someone probably getting ready to dump.
3  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin won't ever become Mainstream. It's just a Prototype. on: March 06, 2014, 10:08:02 AM
There are too many trust issues with Bitcoin. Especially since we need to trust exchanges and the people who accept and use bitcoin.
4  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: Laboboy31's Profitable Betting Algorithm - High Profits - Low Odds on: March 01, 2014, 10:33:09 AM
There is no "profitable betting algorithm" for playing a -ev game with a limited bankroll and a max win ceiling.  There are methods that will allow you to (probably) go for long periods of time before you lose your bankroll, but you are making several -ev bets in a row.  You can't magically make -ev bets +ev.

Agree. This is the best post in this thread so far. Another good one is that Gamblers fallacy post.

I think withdrawals are manual.  Undecided
6  Economy / Gambling / Re: 130% PONZI-Fast and Payments Guaranteed!!! on: February 15, 2014, 10:58:35 PM
Since payments are guaranteed, you should escrow 10BTC with a trusted escrow.  You know, since you are guaranteeing all payments.
Maybe I'll contact some competent person in the coming days.
130% PONZI-Fast and Payments Guaranteed!!!

No better time then today.  The sooner you show that you are serious about guaranteeing everyone their payments, the sooner people will invest.

It's a ponzi. It's puffery, so effectively it's a gambling game, but there is a difference between a dodgy and fair ponzi. It is clear that it is a ponzi that cannot guarantee payments without further deposits. You can see this by reading up on how the scheme works, and the program even writes "ponzi" in their name which is a dead giveaway. It's a bit like those department stores that say "Price Match Guarantee", but they never seem to price match and ask you to go to the other store.

Returning to the ponzi elements:

If the program reaches a stage where deposits are no longer occurring at a reasonable pace:

A fair ponzi would most likely redistribute any residual amount amongst the unpaid participants and then close the program.

A dodgy ponzi makes no such claims and runs off with your coins, seeking only to profit.

The question, which one is this? I mean there is nothing to lose for newbies setting up a ponzi because they aren't hurt by negative feedback "trust", so I'm more inclined to not invest in this program.
7  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: Double Your Money, #1 Investment Scheme, Payments Guaranteed (NOT A PONZI)!! on: February 15, 2014, 10:50:06 PM
Do you have any guarantees on how the remaining funds will be distributed if no one continues to put money into your program?

What happens after the program closes? Will the remaining funds be distributed to unpaid members?

I am still undecided on putting any money into the program.

It probably isn't wise to ask for new diggers right after the profitability has halved.
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Worth it to drop money on a GPU rig today? on: February 14, 2014, 04:06:38 AM
Use a coin profitability calculator to analyse the situation.

I believe most people would not be as profitable anymore unless they have free equipment or free electricity due to the recent fall in the bitcoin price.

12  Economy / Service Discussion / Is verification required if you change from BTC to USD on BTC-e? on: January 24, 2014, 05:32:07 AM
Is verification required if you change from BTC to USD on BTC-e?

Or is verification only required when you ask for a bank wire?

Are there any other exchanges that allow what I have described?

I've successfully exchanged LTC with BTC without verification, but what if I were to use the BTC/USD and LTC/USD trades?

While giving the users fractions of pennies in order to have them slave for the site developer.

If you want to get bitcoins.. Get a job and purchase them... OR waste hours of your days on faucets and sites like visitor and get paid fractions of cents for your time..

I agree, this is a big scam to harvest slave labour and ride off bitcoin's popularity... The problem is that you can earn this money anywhere on the internet and then buy bitcoins... I don't know why so many people fall prey to these tactics by these webmasters.

Has anyone noticed that the payment per task is 1.5 cents on average through Coinworker, BitcoinGet, Abitback and other websites.

Whilst on neobux you get paid 7-9 cents per task...

how are these shorts working out sofar? Smiley

Probably the same as those doubling up in the dips...

When the price goes higher, shorters usually add to their shorts because they believe the price will crash.
15  Economy / Trading Discussion / BTC-E still stuck in the past with network transaction fees? on: January 08, 2014, 12:15:57 PM
I've just conducted my first transaction on BTC-E after coming across from Bter.

I noticed that btc-e pay 0.0005 network transaction fees whilst bter pays 0.0001. Both transactions make it to the next block.

That goes to explaining why btc-e charge a higher bitcoin withdrawal fee. I also noticed that due to this fee, sometimes it may be more favourable to conduct a transaction on bter after accounting for the reduced fee.

17  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Quantum Computing and Bitcoin on: January 03, 2014, 04:55:00 AM
That picture is misleading... Especially the counting part. You could go through all the numbers 2^256 across a lifetime if you wanted to with a computer that was fast enough. I think it would have to assume some kind of minimum period between the counts.

I don't believe it has anything to do with the total number of atoms or matter in the world. I'm pretty sure there are more than 2^256 atoms just on earth. Many times more in the universe.
18  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Vanity Genning someone's address? on: January 03, 2014, 12:31:01 AM
I just noticed that someone has managed to generate 28 out of the 34 characters of an address.

https://blockchain.info/address/1CounterpartyXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXUWLpVr

Unless of course someone is just sending $0.40 of bitcoins into a void. Although, I'm more inclined to think that someone has cracked it.

I remember there was an article about generating the first few characters, up to 30 is really fast. It's the last few which are harder. So, the question still remains about whether due to the NSA issues, whether the cryptography is still safe.
