no price is guaranteed...regardless of difficulty the supply is constant.. existing bitcoins + 50 BTC/10mins demand is what changes.. what we need is another news article to snag a few greater fools or heaven forbid novel concept... a USE FOR BITCOINS outside drugs + child porn. LOL. Many folders@home went from curing cancer to supporting the drug trade... funny what paying a couple nickles does to one's lofty morals..
but for now im going to buy a pair of alpaca socks which say 'i spent 10,000$ in mining hardware and all i got to show for it are these alpaca socks' If it weren't for bitcoins would alpaca and 'goxed' be in the common vernacular? Shall we say greece's drakhma has become alpaca'd? ie a phrase to indicate that something intended for broad scope/use has a limited almost comical actual use? Like I bought that soloflex and at first i used it every day but now its being used to prop up the plastic christmas tree - it has been alpaca'd? I dont know help me out here guys..
ok so i lost a few g's but me and my biz partner just shrug our shoulders and go 'lunch money'
then roll the dice again on a new scheme..... I hear peru's got a nice foreign investment program in a few alpaca farms...
if u cant beat em..

Make it easy for me, throw us a link to this jungle?
I hate to link hax0r forums and i think u need to reg but the cat's out of the bag anyway. http://www.hackforums.net/forumdisplay.php?fid=163they're all excited about bitcoins for the stupid botfarms yet they're selling all kinds of illegal haxor bots, worms, anon vpn services.. the perfect stuff for bitcoin.. it makes me laugh. Yup. Don't feel like registering, but thanks for the look into the seedy underbelly. I'll try to spread the word.. i mean at this point the hackers all know about bitcoin as a way to 'monetize bot farms' so not much to lose in trying to show them the light.. from monetizing it to using it as money.

hey democrat.. I got a used 1985 ford.. it still run right? I mean yer not AGAINST CARS are you.. therefore u will pay my asking price of 275,000$ then u can drive it on our AWESOME public roads with nonstop lane closures with people on a perpetual coffee break .. and learn how to drive while getting shot at in our AWESOME public schools
And for the privilege of driving this car which only the GOVERNMENT is smart enough to make.. you can drive it around paying triple in tax for the gasoline and get photographed at every intersection hoping to catch you going 1 mphs making a right turn at a red light at an empty intersection for a nice 500$ ticket. And if you dont feel like paying for all this you can go to our wonderful prison system to get 'rehabilitated' by a bunch of wonderful chaps that are a byproduct of our AWESOME war on drugs!
all for the low low price of HALF of everything u make or 3 trillion $$ a year, take your pick!

bitcoins are going to be used to pay overseas suppliers where 10 mins is instant, compared to 2 weeks which is my typical wire xfer time to china. also it's relatively large payments.. this is actually a perfect solution to this and if you've EVER
dealt with a new supplier in china.. and waited for a week on the 30% down payment and wondered for a week if he wasnt just gonna disappear/get shutdown/whatever... this is a GODSEND.

To them, speaking english is almost a dishonor...
Is Michio Kaku Japanese? He speaks English almost too well. he's american, looks like 3rd generation, so more american than I am, even. His father was born in california and spoke very little english. His grandfather was put in a relocation camp during WWII.. so there isnt much margin for error with japanese speakers. It's not like japan is mexico where people just hop across the border.. this was a major, proud, industrial power who we were at vicious vicious war with a short 60-70 years ago. Not much time to mend fences and train perfect english speakers. Consider that guy's incredibly brilliant and his father couldnt speak english, even though he was born in america - who was probably no dummy. Even with all that, a guy like michio kaku is about as rare as my blond haired blue eyed american boss who spoke fluent japanese. Japanese literally stood back in awe - it's that rare. Japan is the America of Asia.. they do the conquering. They force OTHER countries to learn THEIR language, they dont learn barbarian languages. How many people in spain speak incan and how many white babies in america learn cherokee? Satoshi is american/UK/aussie whatever .. maybe not necessarily white.. but he's american.. IMHO .. expat living in japan, or like i said has a mouthpiece who fits said criteria. When's the last time a japanese invented anything like this anyway? open source crazy anarchist type stuff.. does that SOUND japanese to you? The nail that sticks out in japan... gets POUNDED in. <--- knows the REAL reason mt gox cant find anyone to work with them.. a healthy combination of racism and dislike for the new, and respect for authority/law.. If they worked for these 'gaijin' and bitcoins turned out to be contrary to the good of japan, outlawed, or worse.. a scam, they'd be branded for life and literally probably commit suicide.

People tried tracking him back in 2010, turns out some of the emails he sent originate from internet cafe's and public libraries in Tokyo. So the person at least physically resides there. I'd say there is a high likelihood he is of Japanese descent as well.
Why does perfect English have to mean he is not natively Japanese? Considering his staggering expertise in cryptography, programming and mathematics I wouldn't say it's too far-fetched to think he is extremely well-educated, maybe even self-learned.
Not being from the UK or USA doesn't automatically mean you make grammatical errors, spelling mistakes or use poor language.
#1 jack of diamonds.. so how good's your japanese? all kidding aside.. never seen a japanese who could speak english fluently and i've worked at the honda plant, in utsunomiya japan, and worked on a toyota program for 5 years. There may be a few but based on personal experience the odds would be 100,000:1 + To them, speaking english is almost a dishonor... But some of them can write english passibly.. you'd still notice alot of mistakes/errors unless he had someone edit for him. But 99% likely at least his mouthpiece is not native japanese. Also i dont think his expertise in cryptography or math is 'staggering' and his programming is definitely not. The dumbest, bucktoothiest native japanese guy can speak japanese better than Stephen Hawking could if he studied japanese for 20 years. IMHO. People overestimate the variation in intelligence on the grand scale, the smartest human is probably 1% smarter than an average human, on a universal scale.

please.. its NOT a thought experiment, its becoming en vogue to overuse this term... a thought experiment is like schroedingers cat, where nothing is actually done, just all in their head.
there are two ways i see this term overused one is 'thought'.. bitcoins isnt just a thought, there are thousands of people using it today and the other is 'experiment'.. an experiment isnt just an idea or a hypothesis, it's a scientific procedure whose purpose is to MEASURE results. With a thought experiment you play out the experiment mentally with the purpose of getting at RESULTS - not to pontificate or muse with stupid theories.
so if u have an idea or a HYPOTHESIS call it that.. dont call it a thought experiment, it cheapens einstein, schroedinger, etc.. when you overuse this term and yer too retarded to even know what it means.

graphics card prices aren't going to drop below what the typical gamer market price is..
billion dollar chip fabs didnt run production lines basing demand for their products on a couple thousand bitcoin miners.
so u can drop the fantasy that cards are going to go for 'half price'.
all bitcoin mining did was increase demand for a market that already had a large existing demand to begin with.. when it disappears the world doesnt explode and amd doesnt shut down their factories..
the total number of 5830's in existence today is the same as it was before, and the total number of gamers buying them today is the same as it was before.
Whether newegg is selling them or some guy on ebay, it doesnt matter.. the supply is the same and the demand is the same.. people far more informed with the market data figured out those performance/price points long ago

what you probably consider lots of money like 30 million to some early founders is nothing to a bank and they wouldnt even flinch at it.. many startup companies are valued in the billions when the banks come in and start buying shares/IPO'ing them
if they start a new block chain it will be for some other reason, the early founders having some chump change wont even enter their decision making process.

You shouldn't ever write when your agitated, but here goes.
Bitcoin is not just for Linux users Think about whether you fancy yourself as part of the "technological ruling elite". Bitcoin has nothing to do with any OS. All people should be able to freely use and enjoy this technological advancement. Different OS's represent different user groups, and those groups may differ from you in many ways. They probably differ in technical expertise from yourself. The solution isn't to make them just like you....
Stop Blaming the victims It's already well known that for every hack some portion of the blame will rest on the victim. No doubt, they will also be blaming themselves. Most likely they were running windows, and they didn't do X, Y, or Z. Instead of trolling their loss, show some empathy, and work out what we have learned. See if theres anyway the 'bitcoin system' could be set up to avoid these kinds of losses (to go hand in hand with 'user education').
Stop being so God-damn defensive We are all indebted to the people who develop bitcoin. Still, they are men and women, not Gods. If you see a new comminuty forming around Bitcoin (as is happening), and they have different needs, roll with it. Just say, "yes, the client (or documentation, or whatever) can always improve. We are working on it, and would love to hear your ideas". If we start setting up sacred cows its only encourages more trolling on 'both sides' when in reality were on the 'same side'. Case in point, having to know that you even have a wallet.dat file, let alone that is unencrypted, is a area of bitcoin that can be, and is being, improved. Just admit it. If you do admit it, dont worry - it doesn't mean all of bitcoin will go down as a failure for all of time.
Clearly the bitcoin community has seen a rapid increase of users that differ somewhat from the initial users. There are growing pains. Can't we all just get along? *Group Hug*.
I used to work as an engineer in the automotive industry and I'd love to do a design where your engine cylinders shoots out thru the dashboard into your skull because you were too 'stupid to notice your engine timing was dangerously off' Then when it happened blame the soccer mom driving.. oh wait but we intend to have an economy without women right? I mean women dont buy things righ?
