2  Bitcoin / Mining support / Canaan OS for Avalon 821 on: October 30, 2020, 08:56:44 PM
Hey all.

Winter is coming and I'm trying to start some old gear to heat up the place. I am going a bit crazy with the os since I can't figure out how to make it work. Should be easy but maybe I'm too tired.

I am downloading the os here: https://download.canaan-creative.com/avalon821/openwrt/20191114/

Using the raspi 1 img. And then flash it on my pi and that's where I have an issue. If I understand well, the static IP of the Canaan OS is 192.168.0.100 but whatever I do I can't see it. I've used angryIP and can't see it.

Any idea what I could do. Why the hell does Canaan set a static IP.

12  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: 100 watt or less miner.. With 16nm Chips.. on: December 22, 2018, 05:11:08 AM
And I wish NewPacs sold worth a darn and coin was still around $7k. What you want would be a lot easier to accomplish.

Dont get me wrong Sidehack. It was not a complain at all. You are doing a super job. Got myself a newpac. Now have 2 first generation, 1 second and the newpac. All working super well on the hub.  Grin

Let me know if I can do anything to help you business

Hey all

Don't know if this was asked before so sorry if so. You can redirect me to the answer if so.

Are we using the mainnet of p2pool or the jtoomimnet?

The jtoomimnet seems to have way more power ? Im trying to understand why there is 2 net.

If you can, please explain why jtoomimnet exist and if we are not using it why?

I will try to read more in the meantime. Thanks

20  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Who likes pod miners? on: June 16, 2018, 02:59:43 AM
No, they had too many reliability issues so I shut 'er down to work out whatever kinks were causing problems. I'll have a new and vastly superior model in a few months though.

Good thanks for the update.  Wink
