Announcement concerning https://www.mining-pool.co.uk/mrc-microcoin/Hi, due to high cost in maintaining a working pool for microcoin, I'm planning to close the pool at the end of May. But considering there is here a lot of people involved in the microcoin aventure, I wanted to get your feeling about that. Let me know _TheQueen74

It looks like their crontab has problem. Just ask the owner to update the info. It only affects the display, not the coin, so you do not need to worry. You are right it was just the cronjob stopping due to the blocks resolving too fast this morning. It causes some problems in the cron tasks and I have to manually launch it. Now up again. _TheQueen

Ok so I've updated https://www.mining-pool.co.uk/mrc-microcoin/ with the new 318000 code. It worked OK as I didn't resync the whole block database. So if I understood we all wait for a new code which will be compatible with the old daemon... Thanks for your work anyway. _TQ

It's down? i had like 200 cat The pool was in maintenance for the time of the upgrade to the new code. It's running again, but I won't maintain it after may 30 _TQ

Here is the end of the test, and it looks like it was a successful test.
So what is the next step ? Other tests or production ? _TheQueen74

Are you sure about that? Then why is difficulty stuck so high for days at 21 when practically no one is mining?
Last time the diff dropped there was an influx of miners, since profitability spiked according to Coinwarz and the like. They then left when the diff jumped. Now, we have to trudge along until the next readjustment or until KGW is implemented, whichever occurs first. KGW most definitely did not cause the diff to get stuck. I cant' say better ! And the conclusion is : we need some glorious gentlemens to mine till then. Keep mining _TQ

Trying to get this miner working:
/root/miners/cgminer-build/cgminer-3.7.2/cgminer --scrypt-jane --sj-nfmin 4 --sj-nfmax 30 --sj-time 1393144187 -o stratum+tcp://mrc.blocksolved.com:3310 -u MiMiMiner.alles -p password -I 13 -w 256 -g 2 --lookup-gap 2 --gpu-fan 30-75 --temp-cutoff 95 --temp-target 72 --temp-overheat 98 --thread-concurrency 8191 -Q 0 -E 10 --no-submit-stale --gpu-engine 1000 --gpu-memclock 1500
But no luck! mining to slow! Also when i quit cgminer I get kernel errors.
Don't use cgminer. Download microcoinminer and read info. and -I 12 might help for the HW errors

SHIT... I've already contacted thequeen74... hopefully quickly back up Hey, We had a cronjob failure this night on frontend server, so payouts and stats were not processed. Payouts processed & now running correctly. Please note that the stratum server has not been affected as it's not on the same machine, so the pool was still running and making nyans. And we did a lot that night due to low diff. That low diff is actually what bugged the payout script as the blocks where just... flying (@ 2:29:49am UTC --> 6 blocks / min...) To compensate the downtime, I re enabled the 33.7 Nyan block finder reward for 12H._TheQueen

Your pool is broken - can't even log in after I signed up.
We had a cronjob failure this night on frontend server, so payouts and stats were not processed. Payouts processed & now running correctly. So i prefered to go to maintenance mode. Maintenance mode is not "broken", it's... maintenantce mode. Please note that the stratum server has not been affected as it's not on the same machine, so the pool was still running and making nyans. An we did a lot that night due to low diff. That low diff is actually what bugged the payout script as the blocks where just... flying (@ 2:29:49am UTC --> 6 blocks / min...) Changed block confirmations to 20 : you get paid 6x faster now ! Don't miss Nyancoin, mine when the diff is still low _TheQueen74

I'm the one in charge of the testnet, as it is mine to begin with anyway. I am keeping it a controlled environment, and will actually be looking for someone to act as a whale to slam the network, at least once per solution that is put on the testnet to be run through the series of tests. Unless I get any kind of donations, then that means that your fee that you are asking, would have to come directly out of my own pocket. I'm already using one of my good servers, that I should be leasing out to others so the server could pay for itself. So, I am already losing around $50 / month just to run these tests and help out the community, so code can be tested for bugs and verify that the code in the solutions selected does what it is supposed to do. Your 0.011111111 BTC/Hr, at current rates, is not unreasonable, as it is round $6 USD / hour. I will just have to come up with the fundings per run. You will have to be willing to jump on and off exactaly when I specify, so the tests being performed can be considered valid. I do not have any one else's solution to the difficulty re-target yet, but I'm sure they will be getting coded and ready for testing soon. I also do not have the full list of what kind of solutions that will be put on testnet. The current solution on testnet is a PID ( http://www.csimn.com/CSI_pages/PIDforDummies.html ), with 16 block averaging for time. It is looking like 16 block averaging is too slow, and I am planning on dropping it down to 8 block averaging for the next round of "steady state" testing. How much hashrate you need for testing ? I 'm also a volunteer. As I said to Maverickthenoob when I ran this pool "I will support the currency" (exact words). That means you can ask if you need something I can do. And I can put some hashrate on the testnet. For the question of the cost, I'm in the same positon as yours for the moment; So losing more or less is not the point now. If I was in need of a certain ROI, I could have made a tons of other investments. Let me know. _TQ

The dev team is now starting to shift from the forking issue to the difficulty re-target issue, using simulations and closed testnet setups (publicly viewable at http://testnet.geekhash.org ) to test actual code for bugs before release. Until a solution is found and proven valid, we need some brave and heroic people to keep mining even if the diff is high. Otherwise the network can just get stuck if transactions are not validated. We need to look at the mining realistically here for a second. ... What is solution here?
--> Keep mining, all this will be sorted out _TQ
