I recently read [/] "An Order-of-Magnitude Estimate of the Relative Sustainability of the Bitcoin Network" , from Hass McCook . In this book , he made a detailed study about estimating the durability and cost of the Bitcoin network. He compares Bitcoin against the gold industry, the banking system and the production of physical currency. And , Bitcoin is by far the most energy efficient monetary system we have ever made ! Here are some numbers: Banking system: 23340 million GJ (energy consumed) + 390 million T of CO² Bitcoin mining: 3.6 million GJ (energy consumed) + 0.6 million T CO². I don't know yours opinions about that , but I'm really excited , I want that erveryone know that ! I know guys that it's really hard to delete these systems , and maybe not possible , I just think Bitcoin is the best system , and I just want to share my opinion , to touch a lot of people , and sensibilize them , it's important. Nowadays , a lot of people are still thinking that Bitcoin is a scam , " a bubble" , they don't know the technology , they speak before learning , they don't understand and don't want to understand. And I want to educate these people, it's my mission , and I sware iI will succeed : my goal is that people understand what is the potential of Bitcoin ! |

Hello Neurzway welcome to Bitcointalk forum! I am member for about 15 months I think. I like it a lot too. If you are planing to be active in here I advice you to check out signature campaigns. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=615953.0Since you are still newbie you will have to post more before entering one, but can definitely be a good motivation for you. My goal was always to post at least 2 constructive (NOT SPAM!!!) posts per day. And it is working well now. For investing in cryptocurrencies I advise you to invest a certain amount every month or so. I am investing 10$ a week. Just find suitable amount and continue with it for few years. This tactics works very well with me, because I don't even care about the short term price changes. I am bullish on long term and that is all it matters for me. Good day to you too! Thanks a lot ! That's a lot of different cryptocurrencies you had invested in. Did you able to manage it smoothly as you have invested in different cryptocurrencies which had different values/price?. About the RIPPLE it's different to other cryptocurrencies which it is not decentralized and some claim that ripple is not a cryptocurrency. So, overall how much you earn with the total $200 dollars in different cryptocurrencies you mention?
Then , I sold and bought ripple as I said , So I had 1700$ , but now , only 300$ , but doesn't matter ! |

Hello guys ! I'm a member of BitcoinTalks since 3 weeks but I didn't really make a " new member introduction " , so here I am ! Well , I'm Martin, I'm 18 years old. I first heard about bitcoin and cryptocurrencies in 2015 I guess .. so I read a lot , and I wanted to invest in ! But you know guys , I was like 16 , didn't have a lot of money , and my parents didn't want that I invest in  So I was still reading a lot about , a lot , and so I decided to invest in ! I made like a short presentation in front of my family , about Bitcoin , technology , what is a wallet , ... I made a power point and they were convinced ! So , in October 2017 , I invested 100$ ! But no 100$ in btc , 15$ in XLM , 15$ in LTC , 15$ in GOLEM , 15$ in XRP , 15$ in NEO and 15$ in XEM and 10$ in SIACOIN ! So in December 2017 , I had like 250-300$ , and I was really confident about Ripple , I knew that the price would pump a lot ! So I sold everything and bought a lot of XRP at 0.19$ , and sold ... 1 month later , at 1.20 $ Next , we all know guys , since January  But I'm Confident , and I still thinking that's just a cycle ! Don't worry guys ! That is absolutely right. When you guys invest, never ever set an expectation or set of expectations. Expectations are only sources of disappointments and frustrations in the end. If the investment went profitable, you have all the reason to celebrate and be grateful for it. However, if the investment went bad and your investment turned to zero, you will not be totally broken as to contemplate of more negative things to happen.
You cant have any expectations with bitcoin, everyday is proof of how quickly everything can change. its a big risk I believe that bitcoin is the least risky investment compared to many other altcoins. The only thing that bitcoin-investor may need is patience. If you have patience, then your expectation will be rewarded. You also need to learn how to make it in the right timing, setting goals and never to panic when things is not working with you is also factors that influenced traders decision making, if you set things out and place both your entry and exit plan accordingly then you are in a good track of your investment as you won't have to regret anything as everything will run according to your plan. If you hold less than 1.5/2 BTC , do not buy a ledger wallet or others stuffs like that. I don't understand this advice. A ledger costs less than $100. I would say if you are holding even a few thousand dollars worth of Bitcoin, especially long-term, then a ledger or other hardware wallet is a good investment. I agree. If you are holding a few thousands of USD worths Bitcoin, it totally worth to buy one. I would get one to myself as soon as I get half of a Bitcoin. Ok guys ! I just say that for me , a destock wallet without internet is safe for me have a nice day No worries bruh. I just wanted to emphasize from my point of view. Peace out. ✌️ Me too bro ! Hello guys ! I'm not gonna make a topic about the main qualities of neo , because you may know ... Yes , NEO is a huge project , that's certain.Here , I will approach the financial aspect. Indeed , you might know that when you hold NEO , you will have gas (dividend). Just to explain , if you have some NEO , you will receive some gas.
For example , if you keep yours neo in binance , you will receive gas each 2d day of the monthSo , here the main points : - Firstly , NEO should totally rise in the next few years , personnally , I see NEO at 400-500$ by 2021 ! But yes , it's speculation , I agree.
- Here , the best point , as I said , NEO gives you dividends (gas) , so , even if NEO rises just a bit (example : 30$ by 2021) , you'll earn dividends !
That will affect your ROI !
For example , Martin wants to invest in cryptocurrencies , he will invest in Litecoin , he has 5000$ to invest in , so he will have like 80 LTC.
Imagine that the price of LTC will rise , and will be like 500$ by LTC in 2021 , so Martin will have 40 000$. He will earn 40 000 - 5000 = 35 000$ .
But now , imagine that Martin invest in NEO , he will hold like 250Neo , so now , imagine that the NEO's price willl be like 150-200$ by 2021.
Martin will have like 40 000$.
But , each months , Martin will earn 3 gas (dividends), so in 3 years , he will have 108 gas.
The price of gas is currently at 5$ , so he will earn 500$ (approximately).
So in this case , Martin will earn 40 000$ + 500$
But now , imagine that the price of gas rise too , and will be like 40$ in 2021.
So now , Martin will have 40 000$ (NEO) and 4500$ (gas).
Here , we can really see the impact of NEO's dividend.

Hello guys ! I'm going to write the main things you need to do to protect yours bitcoins & altcoins. First of all , let me advice you something: If you hold less than 1.5/2 BTC , do not buy a ledger wallet or others stuffs like that. For me , it's a lake of money , really.So , let me introduce you the differents ways to hold your cryptocurencies. (from the safest to the less safe) : - 1 : Ledger .
I won't introduce more Ledger , Google is your friend. - 2 : Mobile Application :

Really easy to use , and it's safe , with 2FA Authentificator , for example. - 3 : Desktop Wallet !
If you want to use it , just go on the website of your cryptocurrencies , and look for the desktop wallets !
For example , for bitcoin , electrum is really good !
Just do some research if you want to know !
Ps: Desktop Wallet could be safer than a mobile application if the computer isn't connected to internet ! (the goal of the computer is only to store cryptocurencies : no virus ! ) - 4: Exchanges :
The worst way to store yours cryptocurencies ... Store in exchanges , like Binance , ....
If you do that , PLEASE , follow this rules :
- Use a strong Password ! (symbols , nombers , letters )
- Use 2FA AUTHENTIFICATOR
