I just wish more details were available from Dave in order to fully trust the service.
How would a linkedin profile help you trust him any more? He has a flawless record of honest stretching back many years. I wouldn't trust him any more than I do if he started to dox himself. Think about it. If he makes it possible for you to find him he also makes it possible for criminals to find him, needlesslyputting himself and your coins at more risk than is necessary.

if I said that it is 100% certain that the sun is going to come up tomorrow, I am probably going to be correct "for sure," but I doubt that my statement is actually correct and such sun coming uppity would be a 100% thingie-ma-jiggie.
Does the sun come up or does the earth go down?

Bootstrap is not working with 1.4.17 QT. Please, check it.
I'm checking it now. Can you confirm that your copy of the bootstrap.dat file has the correct sha256 checksum? As the bootstrap.dat post says: To verify that you have the right file its size is 3789137849 bytes and its sha256 hash is ec1c102a0a3c4b0f0f47ff25a28bb96d935d374bd4168e0600acae22b42b0e63.
The file should be called bootstrap.dat, and it should be in the same folder as your wallet.dat file. Take a look at the end of the debug.log file in the same folder. You should see one line per block it imports. Look at it again a minute later. Is it importing blocks? See how many blocks per minute it's importing and you can figure out roughly how long it's going to take to get up to block 3551279 (which is the last block in the bootstrap.dat file for now). Edit: I recreated the bootstrap.dat file from scratch up to block 3551279. The newly create bootstrap file is 3789137849 bytes long and has an sha256 hash of ec1c102a0a3c4b0f0f47ff25a28bb96d935d374bd4168e0600acae22b42b0e63, the same as in the bootstrap post. I could try importing that into the CLAM client, but first I'd like to make sure: a) that you have the same file with the same hash, and b) whether it really didn't work for you, or if it's just being slow. check the end of your debug.log

I just updated that bootstrap file.

I don't think we will see a x3000 anymore That depends which fiat currency you're measuring it against and how dramatically that currency eventually collapses in value.

I think it is obvious that many people missed on bitcoin chance
It's not obvious to me at all. Isn't it possible that there are still significant gains to be made on Bitcoin?

iirc when Dooglus started the whole casino bankrolling he charged investors 10% commission. Pretty funny compared to where we are now The commission was 1% at launch. It went up to 5% after Sun Jul 7 2013 and up again to a whopping 10% after Sun Aug 11 2013 due to customer demand.

We are 71 days into 2021 and every day of this year is better than any day from any other year.
Surely we were 68 days in: 31 in Jan, 28 in Feb, 9 in March. That's why we see 2020 first only in 69th place: 68 2021-01-01 29,279 | 68 2021-01-01 21,429 | 68 2021-01-01 23,880 | 68 2021-01-01 36,510 | 68 2021-01-01 2,997,708 69 2020-12-31 28,819 | 69 2020-12-31 21,084 | 69 2020-12-31 23,477 | 69 2020-12-31 36,478 | 69 2020-12-31 2,950,316

Listen, I'll just have to tell you what I have in mind: I like what JD did - shut down BTC and started their own coin.
To be clear we didn't start our own coin, we just switched to a coin with a very small market cap. The point was to massively reduce the value of the bankroll that we had to be responsible for, to make the site closer to a "play money" site than a high-stakes Bitcoin place. It worked well for the most part but some people seemed to think that CLAM (the altcoin we switched to) was a good investment *because* Just-Dice was using it. It wasn't...

Just curious about how often one can generate a coin. Is it still just one coin reward where the staked coins act like raffle tickets? I want to assume that staking a large amount and returning them when I have enough of my own would still take a long time and wouldn't be worth it though. Hopefully clams can make a comeback one day.
Each block you stake is worth 1 CLAM plus transaction fees. Each UTXO takes 500 confirmations to mature after staking which takes about 8 hours. People tend to split their large UTXOs up into multiple smaller ones so they can stake more often than every hours.

Seeing that dooglus also posted a file for every 10,000 blocks, I counted up to https://s3.amazonaws.com/dooglus/bootstrap-199.dat is blocks 1,990,000 through 1,999,999 which is where my problem was happening so i renamed bootstrap-199.dat to bootstrap.dat, ran it and it imported those blocks just fine. Once it was done I reinserted the full bootstrap.dat file and opened clam wallet again and it was importing blocks again for a while, but I ran into the same problem so I just downloaded the next few files and appended them, it is easy enough Did you get your node fully synced now? I've uploaded 34 files, each with 100k blocks in them [ here]. I'd be interested to hear whether your client is able to import files of that size, or whether they're too big like when you tried with the whole bootstrap.dat file in one go.

I just stopped updating the partial files because I never heard of anyone finding them useful. I guess I'll reinstate them. My suspicion is that the single large file isn't working well on Windows. Are you running the CLAM client in Windows?

I made an updated bootstrap.dat file for people having trouble syncing their client. It goes up to block 3383629 which was staked on Wed Dec 16 16:42:49 UTC 2020. It's available here: bootstrap.datDownload it, put it into the same folder as your CLAM wallet.dat, then restart the client. If you are using the QT client, it will say "importing blocks" in the lower left corner while the bootstrap.dat file is imported. That is how you can tell that the file is being used. It will take a while to import it, but it will be a lot faster than trying to sync using the p2p network. When it is done, the client will rename the file to bootstrap.dat.old and won't look at it again. Once it has been renamed you can delete it if you like. To verify that you have the right file its size is 3,703,759,229 bytes and its sha256 hash is 821e1a3d4746c59cb57f97666c854e50b1fed2f5da838b284a4061d251d74152. I updated the CLAM bootstrap.dat file and moved it onto IPFS.

Problem is, my bootstrap ends and renames to .old
That should only happen when the file has been fully imported. Is the bootstrap.dat file linked in this thread corrupt? any help would be appreciated.
I'm guessing that you don't have the full file. There's an sha256 checksum in the post so you can verify it. I just updated the post with a new version of the file. It's now 3,697,805,005 bytes.

There are also places that only list good places but remove some good places that doesn't have affiliate, which is also fine, do whatever you want it is your website.
My problem is with the sites which lie. For example: Check out our objective and unbiased reviews of all important Bitcoin (BTC) and crypto gambling sites out there – no matter what type of player you are, on our website you will find reviews of all the best BTC Casinos and yet there's no single mention of the biggest and arguably the most important Bitcoin gambling site out there. They list the sites that pay them and ignore the sites that don't. That is the opposite of "objective and unbiased". Your search - inurl:btcgosu bustabit - did not match any documents

I don't think that version is tested much at all. I wouldn't recommend anyone use it other than for testing. I tried it recently and found a bug in it almost straight away. The fix is on the 2.1.0 branch in the CLAM git repository.
