We will be releasing the new version of Chancecoin on Friday, August 8.
New features will include:
- faster bet resolution
- cheaper fees
- BTC betting
This will be a game changer..I think its time to get the marketing ducks in a row..Thank you devs for your hard work I have been away from my computer for the last week. great to come back and read the news! keep up the great work. |

Here's how we've prioritized things from the Dev side:
Working on now:
- BTC betting
- Even lower fees
- Even faster bet resolution
- Expecting rollout of some or all of these features within a week, plus or minus a few days.
Working on next:
- Faucet on Chancecoin.com
- More single player games
To be determined:
- Web wallet. We can't directly host a Web wallet for legal reasons, but we might be able to finagle some kind of decentralized solution.

The Qora code is readily decompilable, and although obfuscated it is clear that it is very different from the Nxt codebase. You don't need to be an experienced Java developer to verify this (although of course it helps, as does knowledge of the Nxt codebase). Perhaps in the dim and distant past it was somehow based on Nxt - although I believe it wasn't - and in any case it is now very very different.
Other things you can readily check:
- The communication between nodes is very different to that of Nxt
- Account IDs, passphrase system, brainwallet etc are different to those of Nxt
- UI is very different to that of Nxt
I really don't understand why people still think that Qora is a clone of Nxt. I assume that all such claims are basically trolling.

Good or bad, it's great to see all this activity. Qora should absolutely have 2 people entrusted with a private github and in case anything should ever happen to him, sometimes shit happens. In my opinion, it should be 2 BTT members of the highest character that are not affiliated with any POS coins (including our community) therefore avoiding a conflict of interest.
As for open source, no rush here, it appears the community has voted and the source will remain closed until a later date. You don't like it, there's always Kora. Perhaps you can pressure that developer to actually create his own code instead of trying to bleed a work in progress.
And to everyone that is dumping, thank you. Many of us learned in our short life at Nxt that dumping a POS coin is a good thing when distribution is concerned, in fact perhaps necessary. I'm sure many of the dumpers have made a profit on their original stakes and are moving on. Oh well, you win some you lose some. Let's keep this momentum going.

Nice try Actually It is not a clone, at least not a clone of the recent code. The code is obfuscated (probably proguard?) and I don't have time to dig further, but seems to be using a lot of third party libraries that we [Nxt] don't use. Uses jetty, and json-simple, but also jackson and mapdb, no H2.
The developer has definitely borrowed ideas from Nxt, but probably not much from the current implementation.
As for the speculations that it may be BCNext himself - not his style, remember the original Nxt code did not use any other libraries (even the jetty dependency was added later by CfB) and was a single file. It is more likely a good java developer who started from the original Nxt 0.4.x code like I did, but then continued his own way into a completely different implementation. But all this may have been intentional, to confuse people - so the conspiracy theories will keep going on.

of course also the Swarm Reserve should be destroyed in a proportional ratio. The 8% figure is only applicable if they raise 21500 Bitcoins realistically it's going to be a much higher %age depending on how much they raise. Actually it's the opposite. If we don't hit our targets our percentages will be less. |

Have you decided on the topic of releasing source or not? Would be better not to for a time frame...
The source code of the complete project will be provided after a 1-3 months. This will protect investors against early clones. I would prefer longer or let an independent group of well known coders look it over for the community. Source code will just make certain people attack Qora from all angles and then starting their own 'fair' (wince) coin. 6 Months would be a minimum in my opinion. The only people who ever read it are scammers looking to make some bitcoin imo. Would you be open to opening it up to the Qora community to have some say/vote in the release? There are already some ideas about implementing a voting system where people can vote which feature should be implemented next. the good thing about all the idiotic discussion in this thread is that it makes qora work even harder to prove he is a highly capable developer and that qora has and will continue to develop innovation |

This: Attempts to send funds to the API "Address" on or after 11 AM (central time) July 18th 2014 (as determined by bitcoin block chain records), will not be considered APICoins purchases and shall be sent back to the originating Bitcoin wallets in the form of Bitcoin minus transaction fees. I think it is needless to display the probability of a win in the Poker game.
It will reduce the fun of the game by showing the probability number .

I Agree. Displaying the probability of win makes the poker game same as the dice game. p.s: @ Devs bets get confirmed and resolved very fast. Gambling is finally a lot of fun! Is it possible to make another bet before the first bet gets resolved? are you thinking about doing a webwallet like counterwallet so people wont have to download and sync the blockchain? - I think this would help adoption of chancecoin very much. How long will it take to make bitcoin gambling implemented ? @ TwinWinNerD I sent 1000 CHA to the donation address as a big thanks to the devs for their hard work and commitment to the success of chancecoin - I trust you will use them wisely |

Version 2.4 is now live! Your client should automatically update. It will re-download the database, which should take about three minutes, and you'll see "Chancecoin is parsing transactions" while it is happening. Give it a try and let us know what you think. New features: - Instant betting (we're talking about <10 seconds) -- try it!

- Improved client speed (~4X faster on average)
