1  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: June 01, 2024, 02:28:06 PM
I agree with you, if dortmund were playing another team I would have given them a chance as well, playing against an in form, fit and daring to go Madrid team in the champions league final.

I'll say the same thing I said about the Europa League final between Atalanta and Leverkusen, both teams have a chance of winning. It's a final, anything can happen in a final. We all know what Real Madrid is when it comes to the champions League and we know that based on quality and history, Dortmund don't stand a chance, but all that rich history won't matter in  single all or nothing match.
Madrid is the better team with more quality and experienced players and that's why they're favourites, but as we also know, in football, the favourites don't always win.

The chances of Dortmund winning are very slim, but there's no way I won't give them a chance. They may go into the game and protect a 1-0 lead till the end of the match. We've seen these things before and we'll still see them again. Today might be one of those days, you never know.
2  Economy / Economics / Re: Don't fall for the "Beauty premium" of some coin/site on: June 01, 2024, 02:14:03 PM
Altcoins spend a lot in marketing and marketing can take any form. This is one reason I've never been moved by popular altcoins. It's all a marketing strategy. They believe it is very well marketed and attract a lot of people then it would have a strong community and help the coin grow, but I don't believe a that's the way to gain a strong community.
I believe a strong community is one factor to determine a good coin, but a community gained from marketing won't last, sooner or later people would see that it's all a facade and they'll abandon the coin, but that's if the developers really care about growing the coin or they just want to make as much profit as possible.

A strong community is built on the fact that people truly believe in that coin for it's features just like bitcoin.
We have to understand that most of what altcoins do is just marketing. That's why you'll see a coin trending and everybody wants to own it. It's all marketing.
3  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling is not place to make money is place to lose it? on: May 31, 2024, 10:47:20 PM
Gambling is a place to win money, but it's also a place to lose money. When you gamble, you either win or you lose. People have won huge sums of money from gambling so I can say gambling is a place to win money.
That doesn't mean you should see gambling as a source of income because you'll lose money to gambling. It's a game of chance, that's why there are odds. Just take it as a fun thing that can make you money, and also keep at the back of your mind that losing in gambling is certain, in fact, you'll lose more times than you win, but your wins may cover your losses.

People lose more than they win, and that is why the casino business is flourishing. If people win more than they lose, that means casinos are running at a loss and they might not exist.
4  Economy / Economics / Re: Labor is really the birth of happiness? on: May 31, 2024, 09:59:13 PM
Working hard doesn't mean you'll be rich. If I decide to start breaking rocks and work hard 14 hours every day won't make me rich. It depends on what you're doing. The kind of work you do matters a lot.
Hard work pays off when you're in a field that can make you rich. And that is why people say "work smart".
Working smart will help you choose the right field. Working smart means developing yourself so you can get better and stand a chance to earn more income.

Speaking of luck. Well, some people are born lucky. Some are born into wealthy families so they don't need to start from the bottom.
I believe luck plays a role in people's lives. I understand it's hard work at first, but sometimes, a man needs a little bit of luck on his side.
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is investment a necessity or a want? on: May 30, 2024, 07:34:19 PM
Investment to me is a necessity if you have money to invest. Good health too is a necessity and it should be the priority. There's absolutely no point in putting anything above good heath. What's the point of investing if it's just going to make you sick. You have to take care of yourself and be healthy.
If you're not healthy how are you going to enjoy your investments?
Worst part is, he'll lose some of those investments.
If I get the picture right, he's someone that likes investment in different coins, because you said "coin involvement". That means he loses a lot of money even though he might be making profits. So why not divert some funds from that and take care of himself?
I don't believe in staying hungry or ill to invest. We invest for a better future, but that doesn't mean we should have a miserable present.
6  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2023/24 on: May 30, 2024, 06:57:26 PM
Real Madrid had efficiency transfer last season by spending more than 100 million for signing Jude Bellingham and success become top scorer for first season appearance in La Liga.

Bellingham was not the top scorer in La Liga. He was not the second top scorer, he was tied for 3rd with Lewandoski on 19 La Liga goals. Artem Dovbyk of Girona was the top scorer in La Liga this season with 24 goals.
Bellingham was the top joined top goal scorer for Real Madrid in all competitions. He and Vinicius hold that record for the season.

When it comes to Barcelona it has mostly been due to financial trouble. They don't want to lose their best young talents at the same time so it is going to take them a really good amount of time to strengthen their financial condition. I'm curious about what Hansi Flick will do next season.

For me, I believe Barcelona's financial challenges are overestimated. I agree that they're in a bad place financially, but they can sign players. Maybe not expensive players are the rivals, but they can sign good players. Two seasons ago Barcelona spent over 200 million on transfers, that high for a team that's apparently so broke, the media said they'll go bankrupt soon.
Barcelona have a very good academy, so they don't need to break the bank to have top players. They need a good coach and 3 or 4 quality signings and they'll be good.
Now they have Flick, if he's the right man for the job and they get those 3 or 4 quality players to fill the needed positions, they'll be good. They may not have squad depth, but they'll have a good squad.
7  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: May 30, 2024, 06:35:23 PM
Perez wouldn't just be mad at him, he will sue him because it will be twice beaten and shame would be more on Real Madrid for being too clingy to have Mbape like they can't do without him.

Sue him for what exactly? He doesn't have any contract with Real Madrid, I don't even believe there's a verbal agreement between the two parties.
I believe what Mbappe is doing is testing the waters. He doesn't want to run and commit to Real Madrid. He wants to see if there are other options so he can compare projects. He's looking for a team where he would be able to win important trophies while being the main face of the team. Madrid might not give him the treatment Paris gave him. In Madrid, he's not so special because they have seen his type and player way better and greater than him many times. Mbappe knows this, so he's not in a rush. After all, he's a good player so he won't leave suitors if Madrid decides to back out which they won't.

Also, I believe, he wants another offer so he can use that as a bargaining chip in negotiating with Real Madrid. When Madrid is the only team on the table they hold all the cards, but when they compete with other teams, Mbappe will have some power in the negotiations.
8  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: May 30, 2024, 06:16:39 PM
Will there be? It is quite likely that Manchester United with the way they are playing now will struggle for the top 6 at all, a top four is out of the question. The management is still thinking about whether to sack him. I honestly don't understand why they are thinking - one trophy per season is not an indicator and everyone has already seen what Ten Hag can do at the helm of MU. Coaches need to be changed sooner or later anyway, I think Ten Hag's time has come

Well, a lot of Manchester United fans don't agree with you. Somehow fans believe winning the FA Cup erases all his wrongs. I understand that they want to give the manager more time. That's understandable, but you only give a manager time when he's showing signs of improvement, not signs of deteriorating. He finished 3 in his first season and finished 8th the next season. That's not an improvement.
Look at the way Manchester United play, since he took over, they've not been impressive, they were worse this season. Arsenal and Liverpool gave their managers time and it paid off, but we should also remember that Arsenal and Liverpool showed signs of improvement over the years that's why they were given time.

The players are not improving, and neither are they motivated. The way he handles his players and makes excuses is not the way to go.
It's obvious from the way the team plays that the number 1 problem is the coach.
Aside from Ten Hag, the Manchester United board need to make big decisions on players they hire and players they sell. A lot of players need to leave, and a lot of other positions should be filled by quality players.
9  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Scammers are the smart ones, be careful. on: May 30, 2024, 05:45:03 PM
I don't feel sorry for them actually. This is a very old trick and I'm surprised people still fall for it. They fall for it because of their greed. They saw an opportunity to steal someone else's money without knowing that they were the prey and not the predators. If they had no intentions of taking someone else's money they wouldn't have fallen for it.

No, they are not. They are pretty stupid.

I agree but it's funny how they always get people. That means the people are even more stupid? I see a lot of lame scams and I wonder how people fall for it. I just can't explain it.

10  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: child board like this will help newbies so much. on: May 30, 2024, 05:08:11 PM
Creating a child board is not the solution, because lack of boards, thread or information is not the problem. The problem is, that newbies are not ready to read. If a newbie really wants to learn on the forum he or she needs to read. Everything you need to get started on Bitcoin and Bitcoin forum is already here, so if you read and have questions you can ask, but most newbies want to teach instead of learning.

There are threads in this forum that educate about Bitcoin and the forum. Some newbies don't even read the pinned thread in the "beginner and help" board before they start posting.
Newbies should learn to read, especially the pinned threads on any board before they post.
11  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: May 29, 2024, 07:17:40 PM
A Skunk Manchester United fan saying this baffles me, you should already be convinced with the last three games they've played ( This is not about winning the FA Cup )
How they played against Newcastle United, Brighton and then Manchester City ( Manchester City was the better side no arguments, but they had this bit of togetherness which they've been lacking from way back this season.

Isn't this the story of Manchester United all season long? Isn't this what Manchester United have been struggling with all season? CONSISTENCY.
Man United can play two very perfect games then the next three games would be a disaster. It's been going on all season. Three good games shouldn't move anybody, what should matter is doing that across the whole of the season.

I stand by what I've always said, Ten Hag is not a bad coach, but he'll be bad for Manchester United. The fact that a particular manager was bad in a particular club doesn't mean the manager is bad. We've seen instances where a manager who was fired for being poor in one club goes to another club and succeeds. The fact that Ten Hag was successful at Ajax doesn't mean that he'll succeed at United.
Come next season, Manchester United would still be fighting for the top 4 alone, even with a proper transfer window.
12  Economy / Economics / Re: How to improve your condition? on: May 29, 2024, 06:34:25 PM
Blaming situations such as the unavailability of jobs provided by the government is wrong according to my way of thinking.

It may sound insensitive, but it's true. This is also what I believe. Blaming the government for not having a source of income is wrong.
Let's get so facts straight, the government are incompetent, greedy and selfish, I agree, but this is your life, you have to make a decision to fight for what you want.
I believe the mindset of a person determines a lot of things. If you've given up in your mind and accepted defeat, then you'll most likely fail in reality.

No matter your situation, no matter how dark the tunnel is and there seems to be no light at the end of the tunnel, don't give up. You just gotta keep trying till you make and believe that you can, or at least you can die trying.
There's always a way, there's always something to do. Everybody in that country is not poor and jobless.

The only advice I can give to OP in this since I don't know the details of the situation in his country is that "he should develop himself". Learn skills, it could be online or offline skills. Look for something you can do and learn and try to be perfect at it. Also, read more. Reading is underrated. When you read, your mind opens up to a lot of things and possibilities. Read anything, it couldn't be textbooks novels, manuals, or journals. Just read more.
You'll be nothing if you don't develop yourself. You might probably be saying, "I have experience or degrees already". If you think that way then you really need to develop yourself more because there's no limit to how much you can grow. The more developed you are mentally and in your field or skill, the more opportunities will come to you
13  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Greediness or Addiction -which one is more disastrous? on: May 29, 2024, 06:05:53 PM
It would be the base of experience or just purely an opinion but for me, Greediness is something that would really make us cripple.
"I want to bet more and more to win more. I will sell my properties so I can bet huge. " Greediness mindset keeps on the winning side, not satisfaction.

I don't think any gambler says that. No gambler purposely says they want to sell their properties so they'll be able to gamble. It happens over time, they won't even know when they're doing it. They don't make up their mind to do it.
It's funny because at that stage, it's no more greed, it's an addiction. Take drug addiction for example, the addicts didn't plan and make up their minds to sell everything they have or take loans to buy drugs, it just happened when they had no money and no way else to get drugs. It's the same with a gambling addiction. Gambling addicts will gamble no matter what.

But addiction is a little disastrous, why? Because they can be satisfied with betting a small amount, at least they can gamble.

An addict can never be satisfied. He can never get enough. He just wants more and more and more. Sell properties, steal, take loans, lie, they'll do whatever it is for their cravings. The tricky part is those cravings can never be satisfied. It's insatiable.

I wouldn't like to be greedy or an addict, but if it comes down to it, I'd prefer to be greedy when it comes to gambling.
The problem is, greed might lead to addiction if not checked.
A lot of us gamblers can be greedy at times, but if kept in check then there's no problem.
14  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is your biggest winning odd for single match? on: May 29, 2024, 05:47:09 PM
The most recent one was the day Crystal Palace won over Liverpool and that same day Arsenal lost to Aston Villa at home. Everything happened like a movie.
That Sunday afternoon I just had the feeling to bet against Arsenal and Liverpool. It was like I knew they'll both drop points. Since I wasn't so sure, I double chance Crystal Palace and played Aston Villa to win.
The double chance on Crystal Palace was about 4.6 odd while Aston Villa to win Arsenal was 10 odds.
The bet was ridiculous, but I usually make these ridiculous bets every now and then.
At the end of the day, both Crystal Palace and Aston Villa won and I started regretting why I didn't give Crystal Palace a straight win since their odds were about 14 to win.
15  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is it advisable for a beginner to invest in a newly launch project? on: May 28, 2024, 06:46:26 PM
All beginners should start from investing in Bitcoin and getting to understand Bitcoin before looking at other options just for gambling purposes only because that's what altcoins are here for.

The problem is most newbies start with altcoins. Probably because they see a new altcoin trending and most people they know are involved with it. Even the ones who aren't interested become interested when they begin to hear success stories, they'll be tempted to be involved.
I'm frequent on Twitter and at every given time there's one coin trending or the other. What's funny is that most of these trending coins end up the same way.
I don't advise people to mess with altcoins, most newbies. It's best to always stick to bitcoin, if anybody must invest in altcoins, they should make sure they know what they're doing.
16  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: May 28, 2024, 05:55:43 PM
It's a setback for Roma to replace him with De Rossi, who has no idea how to excite his players. This is why I dislike him, especially since de Rossi is not as good as people assume.
The public's overreaction has given him overconfidence in his club.

You're just a Mourinho fanboy who is looking for a way to trash-talk everything De Rossi has done at Roma so far. He doesn't have to be your favourite manager for you to acknowledge what he's doing. He never claimed he was better than Mourinho.
If you do not see that Roma was sinking before De Rossi was hired then that's a "you problem".
Roma were somewhere around 9th position and with the form they were in there was no way they would have been able to Knock out Brighton at the time. De Rossi took over and turned things around, giving the club hope of winning a trophy.
Funny how you're talking about De Rossi not being able to inspire confidence but it was Mourinho that was failing at that.

You don't have to be salty when talking about these things. Roma did well under De Rossi, it's a shame they couldn't win any trophy, but they got to the semi-finals of the Europa and almost got a shot at playing in the Champions League.
De Rossi may not be a better coach than Mourinho, but please don't talk down on how he lifted the hopes of the players and the fans, he had them believing again because the team started playing better under him.
17  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: May 28, 2024, 05:41:16 PM
I think even though Manchester United have won the FA trophy now, it doesn't mean they are a good enough team at the moment, to face next season of course Manchester United need to improve their performance and also their mentality to achieve consistency in the matches they will indeed live next season, reportedly Manchester United are currently evaluating Ten Hag and let's wait what they will decide later.

Aside from the issue of manager, Manchester United have a lot of overhauling to do. A team like Manchester United shouldn't have the kind of players they have in their squad. There is no way they'll be able to compete against the top teams in Europe with a squad like that.
I have never hidden were I stand with Ten Hag, I believe he won't be a good coach for Man United and he should be replaced, but we also have to consider the squad of his team. The team lacks good defenders and midfielders, even the attack is not very good.
I understand that the squad cannot be strengthened in one transfer window, but there should be a plan. If a new manager is taking over or Man United is sticking with Ten Hag, there should be a plan on how to have a world class squad in the next 2 seasons.
18  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why are banks against cryptocurrency? on: May 28, 2024, 04:38:10 PM
Official adoption of Bitcoin by governments will eliminate the need for banks. Banks are centralized and fully regulated, which is completely inconsistent with the principle of Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies.

This is me just thinking out loud.
Who does this affect more? The banks or the government? In as much as we can agree that bans are against Bitcoin, I believe they're against it mainly because the government are against it. The government can monitor its citizens through the banks. Financial records are obtained through the banks. Taxation and every other thing is somehow connected to the banks. The government is for centralisation, that's what they stand for.
Bitcoin takes some of that power away from them and they don't want that.

If the government officially adopts Bitcoin, the banks will still be there. People would still need financial institutions, centralised exchanges would still be a thing and the banks could evolve to adapt, but the government would not be able to adapt because they wouldn't have control over the people who don't use the banks or centralised exchanges
19  Economy / Economics / Re: Sea Piracy, it's effect on the local economy on: May 28, 2024, 04:10:26 PM
In the last paragraph of my post, commenting on the idea expressed that it is impossible to fight evil with the same methods, I objected and gave an example of Russia’s military actions towards Ukraine when there is simply no other choice but to kill the Russian occupiers who invaded the territory of Ukraine. C what do you disagree with?

Life isn't always like that. Because the answer to question 1 is A, doesn't mean the answer to question 2 will also be A.
Russia invading Ukraine is an act of war and that gives Ukraine the right to retaliate and defend itself from foreign invaders.
In no way is that situation the same with somebody turning to crime because they want to handle an evil situation with evil.
The government using strong military force against pirates is what can be likened to Ukraine fighting against Russia and in this case, the government has every right to do so, the same way Ukraine has every right to defend itself.
20  Economy / Economics / Re: Would you prefer getting a loan for a startup or getting an investor? on: May 27, 2024, 07:09:52 PM
For me getting an investor is the best of the two. One simple reason is that if a business fails you still have to pay the the loan taken, but with an investor, you both share the loss. Losing a business and having so much debt to pay afterwards is a very difficult place to come out of.
Also, the amount of money you'll get from the investor(s) you'll most likely not get from a loan. Financial institutions won't want to fund the whole of your business, it's too much of a risk. They'll either give you part of the money or none at all.

Besides, I always wonder why people are opposed to getting investors for their businesses. If you really want that business to be as big as you want, you're going to sell shares eventually because you'll need those capitals from somewhere, so why be scared of a third party?
