We're spending a significant portion of today working with the winners of the http://Belacoin.org/invest initiative. We're offering insight on different ways in which Belacoin can be integrated to a website or a mobile app. They are passing us along promotional images and logos for us to compile into our showcase.

On January 29th, the site http://Belacoin.org/invest will be changed to be the location of the showcase. We will reveal the winners one by one, so when the website is first changed, there will be only one winner shown on the site. A few hours later, the second winner will be added. A few hours after that, the third winner's showcase will be added.

The showcases consist of a brief overview of each winner, and we want to encourage you to explore them beyond what we can demonstrate on our website. Clicking links to view their websites and social media accounts will allow you to learn more about who they are and what they're doing. Please keep in mind that these winners are in the early stages of their companies, so the businesses are not big yet! They will be executing the majority of their work in February, so we will be hearing a lot from them all. As they grow bigger, they will only be better for the Belacoin community.

With our initial invest initiative, we wanted to target entrepreneurs with business ideas but no execution yet. Two of the businesses have already begun working before the end of the initiative, but we felt that they are still in the early stages and are capable of bringing new things to Belacoin.

They have a lot of room to grow, and we will be guiding and advising them to make sure they do. Each business also receives $500 from us to ease the path to economic self sufficiency.

The Ambia Fund is working tirelessly to bring Belacoin to the status of a top-tier coin, and we hope that our ambitions are evident when looking at our day-to-day progress. As our workday winds to a close, we want to take a moment to share today's Belacoin accomplishments.

• We have secured 2-3 members for the Board of Advisors—the tight-knit group of highly experienced aides to the lead developer of Belacoin. We will announce the final list of members of the Board of Advisors by or on Sunday.
• We have reached out to multiple potential lead developers and will be vetting and discussing terms with them over the next few days.
• Our giveaway has returned 69 retweets and a 248% increase in @Belacoin twitter followers from 24 hours ago.
• We have identified 19 exchanges that we believe have the potential to list Belacoin in the next couple months. We will be reaching out to most of them this week.
• We are researching and discussing the best plan for how to legally structure the upcoming Belacam startup. At this point, it looks like Belacam will either be registered as an LLC or a Subchapter S Corporation. All this means to the Belacoin investor is that The Ambia Fund is concerned with complying with the law.
• Belacoin's past 24-hour trading volume put it in the top 10% of all cryptocurrency projects. On Poloniex, it received more trading volume than prominent projects like Storj, representing an increase in traction and future expectations for Belacoin.
• Crypto Designers, with a bit of our guidance, continued to make great progress on the Belacoin.org website. It will launch on Saturday.
• We had our Belacam logo finalized. The logo will be revealed on the Belacoin.org website this Saturday, but the entire Belacam project (the real-deal Belacoin news) will be revealed the next day.

Tomorrow, we will continue our search for 2-3 more Board members and a lead developer for the Belacoin project. If the giveaway nears 300 retweets, we will look into providing Belacoin with more funding to expand the giveaway. We will be updating our own website to include information about our role in Belacoin.

Unrelated to Belacoin, our research report on the supposed correlation between the day of the week and Bitcoin's price will be released in the coming days.

We have been in contact with both @Twoturtles (the original developer, now working on the Neos project and no longer affiliated with Bellacoin) and @androidcryptogames, the talented game developer who has built the Bellachess game that this community knows and loves. It has come to our analysts’ attention that Bellacoin lacks both a lead developer and a supportive team.


After speaking to both parties mentioned above and receiving their consent, the Ambia Fund has decided to temporarily take over the role of managing Bellacoin. As quickly as possible, will be looking to source a lead developer and team members who can fill part-time supportive roles and retake the project back from us. Let it be known that this is very good news for Bellacoin. Yesterday, it had no management team. Today, it does.


We will also be assembling a Board of Advisors—experienced and trusted members of the cryptocurrency community who will provide advice and insight for the incoming lead developer and supporting team members. We will require that the lead developer assume his or her role without anonymity. 


Below are our highest-priority updates that we will be working on:

• Changing the name from Bellacoin to Belacoin
• Designing a new logo
• Providing a new informative website
• Updating the code behind the project
• Updating the wallets
• Sourcing a new lead developer

We are moving to implement these changes as quickly as possible. A new logo is already in the works, and we will serve as the lead management for the coin until a permanent lead developer can be found within the next 7 days.


We recognize that these updates need to be quickly implemented so that Bellacoin is sustainable under new leadership, allowing us to focus on our Belacam project. While we will maintain a partner on the Board of Advisors, we will be passing off the full responsibilities of management as soon as a lead developer is nominated by us and approved by the community. No lead developer will be entrusted with the role unless the Bellacoin community as a whole—the supporters beyond the Ambia Fund—support and trust the nominee with the future of Bellacoin.

Since the use of Bellacoin is integral to Belacam, it is imperative that Bellacoin is first built up to a stable level and respected as a cryptocurrency in the community. What would a stake entail? What would the revenue model be for paying out dividends to stakeholders, and how would this be regulated? There is a future for Bellacoin if some organization can come to the project, and purchasing a stake may not be necessary.

Seems that while checking why my cashed out coins did not appear on my balance (in fact it was cashed out but never showed in the Android app, because the wallet did not find any peers but showed to be fully synchronized...), I accidentally "hacked" the script that handles the cashouts... (not really, but I accidentally made it pay me more than I wanted/deserved...)

I won't describe in more detail what I did (if you want details, please drop me a private message) but in general check the input parameters of your script better for consistency. [Against a truly malicious attacker, certificate pinning would also help.]

It might also improve the user experience if the included wallet was of the "light" kind (only downloads transactions for its own address) instead of "full" (downloads all blocks), and especially if it showed an error in case it was not able to sync (instead of just showing 0 BELA).

[I used the Windows cliend linked in this thread - which took some hours to sync - to refund the amount, that's why it took so long...]
