101  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Tactics When Market is Falling on: May 22, 2018, 04:32:51 PM
Hi all,
I am a relative newbie but have remained pretty calm during the difficult last week or so. The markets are falling significantly again, is this still relatively normal and is the best advice just to HODL? Moving forward I think I will set stop losses on all holdings to protect my capital against falls like this.
Thanks
Hold is the best technique that you can do if you see that the cryptocurrency market is falling. Do not sell your coins because you will experience losses. It is better if you will stay calm while holding your coins.
102  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETH or LTC long term? on: May 22, 2018, 03:40:59 PM
Brand new to the cryptocurrency market.  Currently I hold a decent amount of LTC.  It's value has gone up nicely since I purchased it.  I've read all the predictions for LTC in 2018 and 2019.  It sounds promising as a long term hold...which is what I'm more comfortable doing...to reach $200 -$300 a coin.   I like the fact that there is a team in place trying hard to ensure it's future.  Charlie Lee may not be the most charismatic spokesman publicly but he's out there doing it which gives me confidence in his product.  Now, it's obvious that ETH is not going anywhere.  My question for the board is which outperforms the other in the next 5 years?  I tend to invest heavily in the direction that has the bigger upside.  Perhaps I should split my investing 50/50 regarding ETH and LTC?  What say the more experienced cryptocurrency gurus?

I have nothing against BTC.  I don't see it going anywhere.  It is the giant.  However, I feel the current price point is too high for my liking.

Thanks
Ethereum and Litecoin are both profitable coins. Actually, I make Litecoin investment and Ethereum investment because I know that those two altcoins have a bright future in the cryptocurrency market.
103  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: HODL vs Day trading on: May 22, 2018, 02:53:09 PM

104  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Already lost 50% of my capital on: May 21, 2018, 02:16:35 PM
Hello guys. I just want to ask for your opinion or an advice.
I started trading since May 2017. I calculated all my loss, I already lost 50% of my capital  Sad. Some coins are still in hold.
I just want to ask what can you give to me an advice or any learnings  about trading. I'm using bittrex.
Do not lose your hope even you lose your 50% of your investment. I am sure that you know how risky is the trading of cryptocurrencies. You should study hard for you to regain all of your losses.
105  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why Bitcoin is Different From Other Currencies? on: May 21, 2018, 01:47:54 PM
Bitcoin is a digital currency that was created by Satoshi Nakamoto in 2009.It is created electronically and impossible to control it.This currency are not printed currency like dollars or euros.Running computer all around the world are producing it.Owing to this reason they are different from other currencies.
The demand of the bitcoin is continuing to grow because bitcoin is unique. The investors are keep making investment with bitcoins becuase they know how profitable is the bitcoin. Bitcoin have characteristics that other currencies doesn't have.
106  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Best wallet for bitcoin? on: May 21, 2018, 12:35:45 PM
I am looking for the best bitcoin wallet.

What do you recommend guys?
Hardware wallet is still the best wallet that you can buy in order to keep all of your bitcoins. It has the highest security because you are the only person who can access it.
107  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: WHAT IF the GOVERNMENT wins over BITCOIN? on: May 21, 2018, 11:16:03 AM
Be ready and aware that 2018 is the year of regulatory reckoning. Countries around the world are trying to determine how they are going to treat cryptocurrencies. Securities and Exchanges Commission (SEC) has halted several ICOs and hinted at the need for greater crypto regulation.

I am into cryptocurrency because of freedom, I can't deny to myself that I have worries regarding this issue. And as an investor, I really have no choice but to stay with crypto once the governments around the world have control to cryptocurrencies (if that became possible).

So as much as we can, also invest with physical properties with what you've earned. For we don't know what will happen next with our money in the digital world.

This is not an advice. It's simply a shared idea.

How about you? What do you have in mind? Undecided

It is not possible! There is no government, companies or person who can defeat bitcoin. The life of the bitcoin depends on its users and I am sure that the users will not let bitcoin die.
108  Economy / Economics / Re: How to manage the risk in investing cryptocurrency? on: May 19, 2018, 04:57:21 PM
The risk in the virtual currency market is the risk of losing some or all of its capital when the investor performs the investment or virtual currency transaction. Identify the risks before conducting a transaction, helping them to know the specific loss rate in each case of investment will be how to, minimum and maximum how to decide the scale of investment, the first time investment, time of investment completion, and other relevant factors.

Risks are part of making investment with cryptocurrencies. Most of the investment here are extremely risky. We should only invest the money that you can afford to lose. It is really good if you will identify the risk for you to easily overcome it.
109  Economy / Economics / Re: Why people are still buying BTC? on: May 19, 2018, 02:51:16 PM
Hello guys,

To me, it seems pretty strange that people actually continues buying btc now...
I understood why they wanted to invest in btc before, after the Chyprus crisis, and all the articles in the media. But now?

I don't get it.

Bitcoin is useless, and will most likely never be used as a currency. I spent hours trying to get my first bitcoins (satoshi actually), and after working for ages, I only got 0.002 btc, which does not even allow me to proceed to a transaction (the fees are higherthan that amount  Roll Eyes ). When you compare it with CC or paypal, it seems that they are free to use in comparison! Not to mention the time required to actually proceed to a transaction which can be anything between 1 minute and ... 1 year (or more?).

The only possible reason I see people are buying btc is that they (truly) believe that the price will increase, and want to make more profit. I think that 99.99 % of the bitcoins exchanged are never withdrawn from the exchangers, and the people are only waiting to make some profits. What makes them believe that the price will rise? Because the amount of bitcoins is limited? Because lost coins can never be recovered? I have no clue.

An other problem is the "mining" part. Soon, the difficulty will increase, CPU and GPU mining will be useless. People will stop mining bitcoins and try LTC or something easy to get... The interest in btc will decrease.

Other issues:
- security. Not a single company was able to provide a "professional" service. Bitcoin-24 has a serious problem ( https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=174600.0 ). Even mtgox was critized for the lags, problems with missing coins, money, delay, and so on ... The hacks are countless (you can see new topics about that every day ...).

I can't see anything positive about btc, and still can't get why people are buying it. Can any captain obvious explains? Thanks.
The bitcoin became popular because of its good stability. The bitcoin is now recognizing by the major banks. I am sure that banks will also use blockchain technology to improve the payment system.
110  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin's price is so volatile right now! Why should I even hold? on: May 19, 2018, 12:55:27 PM
With the price of Bitcoin being so volatile should we ever consider buying or even holding if we have bitcoins?

What are your thoughts??? What should we do??

As it stands today at this moment, the Bitcoin volatility index reads:
4.57% the latest 30-day volatility estimate
3.54% the latest 60-day volatility estimate

The bitcoin volatility index for present day can be seen at: https://btcvol.info/

My opinion of bitcoin longterm can be investigated here in this post titled "Hacks & puppets & forks - how to destroy bitcoin": https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1834310.0
It is true that the bitcoin is so volatile, the reason why we should hold bitcoin is because it has potential in the cryptocurrency market even its price is unstable. The bitcoin has limited supply and its value is continuing to rise up.
111  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: So many new ICO, how to check if it's scam? on: May 19, 2018, 06:55:16 AM
So many new ICO, and they all have new idea and tech listed on their webpages,

and even the websites use the same template...

but so many new ICO, how to check if it's scam, or worth to invest...
It is true that we should review the ICOs well for us to know if it scam or promising. There are a lot of scam ICOs nowadays, the best way for us to know if the ICO is scam or not is by checking the background of the developers and the team behind the project.
112  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitcoin traders, why don't you just trade forex? on: May 17, 2018, 02:19:20 PM
I see there are a lot of first time traders trading Bitcoin via the hack exchanges of MtGox and Tradehill.  It makes me wonder, why don't you guys just trade real forex?  You can open micro accounts with as little as $25.  You get security far better than these shady exchanges.  You get real customer service with a real business that won't disappear and leave you only an email address to cry to.  You get real trading platforms with reliable data, not some ghetto hack stuff.  You get plenty of liquidity, which allows of smooth trading.  And, best of all, you don't have to worry whether it's legal or not!  Trading is hard enough as it is, why anyone would want all these additional factors working against them is beyond me.

So, to all the bitcoin traders out there... what are your reasons for trading these shady, unsafe bitcoin markets over regular FX?
I don't have prior knowledge about forex, it is the reason why I can say that cryptocurrency trading is more better. Cryptocurrencies are too volatile, I always using the volatility of the cryptocurrencies as advantage for me to earn money from trading.
113  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is trading actually worth it? on: May 16, 2018, 01:56:43 PM
So yeah i'm just wondering whether can you make serious money with trading or is it more than not just gambling?

Are "pro traders" making millions, or are they barely getting by and need to sell their signals and such?

Not in a bull market anymore so i'm looking at trading as a way to make money, but not sure whether it actually works. Note i'm not complete newbie, but i was never really trading.
If you fully understand the trading, you will say that it is actually worth it. There are many people like me who see trading as full time job. There are many opportunities that I getting from being a crypto trader.
114  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: I'm a beginner, I want to start trading. What should i do? on: May 15, 2018, 12:57:33 PM
Hello to everyone!
Thanks for reading my thread. Any tips and advice will be appreciated.

I have 0.5BTC and I'm not going to invest them in some risky moola because I think that in 2030 Bitcoin's price will be almost 500.000€/BTC.
I've read that trading with Altcoins can be a good strategy of investing to make more capital and hold.

But I'm completely new in this world.

1) What should I start?
2) Which platform should I use?
3) How can I analyze the Altcoins?
4) Auto or Manual?
5) From 1-10 how much is risks in trading Altcoins?

Thanks for your answer. If you have any other tips, suggestion, its highly appreciated.
Beginner like you must study hard first before you make investment with trading. Trading is not easy job as what you think. You should have knowledge for you to handle different unexpected situations.
115  Economy / Speculation / Re: Reasons why Bitcoin is droping: on: May 15, 2018, 12:24:41 PM

Reasons why #Bitcoin is droping:

- Not a single rebrand since 2009
- No "huge news" or "strategic partnerships"
- Not enough airdrops
- Not enough PhD graduates on the team
- Team not doing bounties...
- Logo is not cool
- Satoshi is not being communicative

This was tweeted by person named Crypto Rand, what do you think about his tweet . I think these reasons always exit but Bitcoin is still very expensive, I would like to know your thoughts on this

There are people who have supreme power in the cryptocurrency market. There are the people who can dump and pump the price of the bitcoin. Do not doubt if someone can manipulate the price of the bitcoin.
116  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How long Bitcoin can survive in cryptocurency industry ? on: May 14, 2018, 09:50:38 AM
Bitcoin is the most famous and the no one crypto currency today. It hold the highest market cap in crypto industry. Also it use very advanced and secured technology, Block chain to operate. Lots of people's use bitcoin as a investment factor. This cause to maximize the capital of Bitcoin. But how long Bitcoin will survive in this industry ? Because lot's of government try to manipulate and control the crypto currency industry via introducing new regulation. As a country some one can do vast harm to bitcoin. We saw some of in past. If Bitcoin fail in this industry it will be a biggest financial crisis in this century.
The popularity of the bitcoin is keep increasing, the users are aware that the bitcoin is good investment because bitcoin proved it in these past years. The price of the bitcoin has now good stability that attract the investors to make investment with bitcoins.
117  Economy / Economics / Re: let us promote BITCOIN on: May 14, 2018, 04:16:05 AM
hi peepz, we all know the declining price of bitcoin today since the start of this year, so i have made this thread for you to post ONLY positive things about bitcoin on how it affects your daily lives, please do sights some of your personal encounter using bitcoin in buying online or on a physical store if there's one. you can also post how you earn bitcoin using this forum.

if you are to post negative things about bitcoin, i believe you should not be here in this thread, there are other threads that tackles the disadvantages of bitcoin so please spare this one.

i believe that this should be helpful for people who have no idea about bitcoin. including newbies in this forum. who knows, maybe some smerit giver will read your post if it deserves to be merited depending on how helpful and informative your post is. so good luck to us all guys.

EDITED: please do not post statements that you agree on why i created this thread, what we need is the practical use of bitcoin today, just to avoid spamming posts that are already posted above yours.
The bitcoin can become more valuable if most of the people in our society are aware and they are using bitcoins. I am sure that they will easily adapt virtual currencies like bitcoins if they fully understand what it is. We should support and help the bitcoin to become more popular.
118  Economy / Economics / Re: Is banking still important in the bitcoin era? on: May 13, 2018, 04:09:17 PM
Financial technologies such as bitcoin, P2P lending and crowdfunding are just beginning to take off, and businesses involved in the industry pose little immediate threat to traditional commercial banks. Banks, after all, the country's economic lifeline, so I think the bank is still very important, do you think?
Of couse it is! Bank is important in our cryptocurrency. Cryptocurrencies can't make bank disappear because their will be imbalance in our economy. I am sure that banks will also use blockchain technology for them to improve the payment system.
119  Economy / Economics / Re: Why I am quitting ICO's on: May 13, 2018, 02:39:48 PM
I decided to quit ICO's. From December till now I invested about 5 eth into several ICO's. Invest what you can miss, this is what was able to miss.

Right now the first few of my ICO's have reached the exchanges. Most are under performing, but this is related to the overall dip (can be read everywhere). I understand, but ICO token economics have changed also.

  • massive hardcaps
  • most is sold in pre-sale to big investors, leaving scraps for crowdsale
  • much attention to marketing, less to working product or realistic time lines
  • immediately available on EtherDelta and IDEX, sure sign of little interest in token economics/future
  • no lock on pre-sale tokens, whales take their x2, x3 or x-whatever as soon as possible (I would probably have done the same). Prices drop to below ICO price.
  • too many ICO's without distinctive differences.
  • too many ICO's in general
  • too much tokens reserved for team/marketing
  • many ICO's don't even have a crowdsale anymore (which perhaps is a good thing as the little investors are protected this way)
  • ICO prizes are quite high. 1eth = 1000/4000 tokens is pretty common, but with a hc of 40 million, this will not easily go x10 or more.

I was 'unlucky' to miss out on a few ICO's besides the ones I was able to participate in. Afterwards I am glad, since I was able to pick most up at a fraction of the ICO price.

Important as ever: DYOR as not all ICO's have a genuine solution to a genuine problem. Some may seem like a fantastic solution, but often it is marketing combined with a strong team, and not so much a great working product.

And who am I? I am definitely a nobody Tongue, but still wanted to share my experiences and perhaps save people from thinking of getting on board of the next x100 ICO Smiley

p.s. when a Telegram has over 20k subscribers all screaming 'when lambo' with endless rows of animated gifs, you may also wonder if this is a serious block chain solution which will revolutionize 'x' Smiley
You have a good point that there are now many shit ICOs projects. Most of the ICOs nowadays are only focusing to get big amount of money from investors, they are not focusing on how they will improve their products.
120  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why invest in altcoin? on: May 12, 2018, 01:51:39 PM
Why invest in altcoin when you can invest in real estate, stock market?
Why we should make investment with altcoins? It is because there are many altcoins that can help us to make big amount of money. Actually, there are many traders who becoming rich because of altcoin trading.
