101  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Can't create account with Coinbase (Exceeded max. number of attempts Error) on: May 31, 2017, 06:00:53 AM
Coinbase is not available in China, even if you vpn to come from one of the supported countries, when verifying your bank account, you will appear to be from China and hence it would fail.

If you are merely staying in China for work or vacation, there should be no problems if your bank account is one of the 33 countries banks. Side note though, sometimes verification fails due to wrong amounts entered

The bank account I am trying to verify is my account in the US.

And I can't even get to the point of entering any kind of amount. I am asked to enter my banking account's Username and Password, and upon entering my information, I get the "you've reached the maximum number of login attempts" error message.

I've sent an e-mail to customer service. I will see if they can help me clear this up.

Thanks

Eh, I am pretty sure coinbase will not ask you to enter your bank account username and password, are you sure you are using coinbase, at least it doesn't ask for my bank credentials in my country, emailing them should take up to a week to get a reply, high influx of errors lately. Hope you get it sorted out soon!

Those posts from a legendary member. Strange. He doesn't need to increase his post count, does he? Maybe sig spamming.

Polynesia exclusively posts only in the india boards for years since he started. Other than the occasional or two replies in the lending sub, the rest are all indian board postings.

Not to mention his past 30 pages of posts were all solely spamming that Indian Press board

Holy shit, it would be funny if hilariousandco renamed that board to Polyress & News from India

106  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Bitcoins stuck between two wallets? on: May 29, 2017, 07:44:38 AM
Hi wandering Soul,
Many thanks for your reply. I didn't make allowance for any fees with the transaction.....I thought it would automatically be deducted during the transfer process. I simply moved my whole balance of .02 BTC from my android wallet to my poloniex address which charges a fee of 0.001.

The android wallet i'm using is the first one i found on android play store https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.schildbach.wallet&hl=en  and the BTC TXID is 1622b1e3fb61b227704c55ebbdf2eec75b023bd8600597161ec888ae59a65e0c

Is it safe to update my android Bitcoin wallet or will I lose my BTC address i there?

Once again many thanks for your help so far.

Steve

No offense but that is one of the worse bitcoin wallets for android ever lol, why not simply use something already established like Xapo, Electrum or Coinbase?

https://blockchain.info/tx/1622b1e3fb61b227704c55ebbdf2eec75b023bd8600597161ec888ae59a65e0c has an atrocious fee of 30 sats/byte because of the olden static fees of 0.0001 btc for any amount sent.

Import the private key from that useless wallet into electrum on desktop and do a child pays for parent. Or simply use the viabtc accelerator to attempt to speed up the tx.
107  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Buy Bitcoin with Mobile Credit - CoinGate.com on: May 29, 2017, 07:39:56 AM
For a moment I thought I could finally use the thousands worth of google play credits to buy bitcoin as an in app payment. Oh well, wish you guys all the best , looks interesting.
108  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: My bitcoin (blockchain) is pending confirmation. 0/3 even after 8 days today. on: May 29, 2017, 03:46:32 AM
Please guide me step by step as I am not able to understand how to do it.
Note that I am an inexperienced New user.

Appreciate your help.
Are you saying that my transaction will be hanging forever ? Isn't there a Max waiting time for my transaction to come back to my wallet?

I presume you are using blockchain.info? If that's the case you would need to find someone that is more familiar with that web wallet

After how long will the transaction drop by itself and back to my wallet?

For transactions to drop from the mempool, it all depends on time and if nodes keep relaying and broadcasting tx, no definite time is the answer.

This transaction. Please help me.

https://blockchain.info/tx/ed810bcb7334470f6341e152d5f0493ffc74dcfae3586c75236ae3b8582b2d05

My gawd, which client still uses static fee of 0.0001 for all transactions these days. Unfortunately given the size of your inputs, that amounts to a measly 20 sats/byte fee, which will probably never get mined.

You have a few options, use Replace by Fee to send a second transaction with the outputs of your this tx with a much higher fee based on Bitcoin fees https://bitcoinfees.21.co, which is essentially a child pays for Parent tx, the miner will mine both txes to get both fees.

That or you can use the viabtc accelerator.

The most drastic way is to simply wait for your tx to simply drop off the mempool

Try to use a desktop wallet next time with dynamic fees determination like electrum wallet.
110  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: My bitcoin (blockchain) is pending confirmation. 0/3 even after 8 days today. on: May 29, 2017, 03:10:11 AM
Hi.  I am a new user and didnt know about the high transaction fees.  So I followed the default low fees and now my bitcoin is still pending confirmation.  Blockchain says it will take 1-7 days but now even after 8 days it's still pending confirmation 0/3. I am so worried now and don't know what I can do to expedite or how to make them cancel it.

Does anyone know what is the maximum waiting time?  Who can help me?

Most  wallets should have been updated to use dynamic fees, give us the transaction in particular so we can perform triage
111  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: How im supposed to migrate my coins to HD wallet with the current fee situation? on: May 28, 2017, 03:56:22 PM
I guess this is why people have always advised to try to not send or receive dust transactions like these, like you mentioned, sweeping even the old wallet private keys might cost you a bomb with fees. Even though segwit and increase block size might improve the fee situation, the fees you actually need to sweep it later wouldnt be reduced by that much.
112  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: STORJ: Inexperienced Team, Poorly Managed ICO, No Transparency - No Confidence on: May 28, 2017, 03:03:53 PM
Yea, I wholeheartedly agree with you. I mean there so many reasons why.

1. Storj doesnt hire people to trashtalk other icos or projects to spread fud
2. Storj doesnt require supporters to necropost in threads dead for 2 days old.
3. Storj definitely has lesser users than this bancor network you are promoting
4. Storj definitely cant beat your awesome non existent funding
5. Storj definitely does not have a working product.

Based on all the above reasons, I assume the ico you are promoting is paying you for necroposting in potential competitors fud threads?

Now lets talk serious allegations

I agree that this project always seemed to be delaying things on purpose.

Tell us all about the things you mention and how they were delayed won't you. Convince me that your statement is true with actual evidence.
113  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: how many unspendable bitcoins are there? on: May 28, 2017, 11:44:34 AM
if we assume the fee situation doesn't improve, and it may never, how many coins are stuck in addresses that can't even fund their own movement? it must be adding up to quite a significant number by now.

Low fees can be fixed by child pays for parent tx with higher fees, miner has to confirm prior tx and the Childpayforparent tx to get both fees. A replace by fee tx can also be made if enabled.

Coins stuck in unconfirmed state for too long will simply stop being relayed after some time, over time they will simply drop out of the global mempool, its like the tx wasnt even made at all.

According to https://bitcoinfees.21.co/, seems like at least 100000 txes stuck under 120 sats/byte fees.

This should not even be a subject of discussion because I don't understand how I won't be able to fund my transfer to another place that I wanted. I would rather go ahead and buy more in other to try again. But the issue I am currently facing that is related to this is that the fund is not even going back to the wallet for me to try again neither is it landing in the destination wallet as well.
Typical hooman, does not understand , refuses to understand, telling others not to understand. ROFL

sure, you can send money in to send it out again, but that's completely pointless because all you're doing is paying more to move less than what the fee cost anyway, plus you're adding another input to fund.
No offense, people who send low fees on purpose deserve it. People who unknowingly send txs with super low fees are usually more than willing to use the alternative methods to bump the fees.

115  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Donators/Investors Oppertunity on: May 28, 2017, 04:57:52 AM
Hello everyone that is seeing this post.
We need Investors/Donators for our new coin.
We have enought btc to put it up on an exchange, and we have nodes set up.
But we need more btc to expand the coin.
We will be making an ANN for our coin. AND we would like to put the investors usernames on the ANN
The Coin is a POW/POS Coin called Electro [ELC] and the Coin supply is 120 000 000
It is 0% Premine. but we did however mine 600 000 Electro we are giving out 100 000 ELectro for the launch of our coin.
We are keeping 450 000 electro for the Investors.
We have the wallets available too.
If you would like to try out the wallets,PM us.

These Investments will help us expand the coin. We use these Funds 100% on the coin These Investments will also Profit you. As we will together pump the coins price to way more than the price you are buying them at right now. So if you buy these coins, Enjoy the Profit.
Best Regards,
Electro Team
 Wink

Gonna give you credit for bringing us back to 2012 where people claim to create and launch new coins with no features at all whatsoever. No premine but you mined coins, pretty sure that is a premine.

One does not simply offer to sell coins before you even have the announcement, and fun fact, nothing in this thread is project development, more like gambling subforum.

Also I am selling you one of my private scam tokens, only one Bitcoin for one token, you will get Vip Perks in my upcoming scammers token Ann,  kappa /s
116  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: payment received before Synch completed but HD not big enough for 122gig data on: May 27, 2017, 03:49:01 PM
If you are using bitcoin core before we had seeds enabled, you can dump your private key and import them into a wallet like electrum, no blockchain download needed. If using a seed, you should be able to use the seed and recover your wallet inside electrum too. Your wallet file should still be somewhere on your mac at ~/Library/Application Support/Bitcoin/. As long as you have the wallet file / any passwords if it is encrypted. Or even better if you are using a seed for your wallet, all you need is the seed to recover your wallet along with any bitcoins it holds.
117  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Recieving Transaction from Bovada on: May 27, 2017, 02:50:41 PM
Yeah hoping someone can help me with a similar situation -

Didn't use Blockchain but went from bovada straight to coinbase this week - never had issues for the last year

Deposit was sitting in coinbase pending for 48 hours with 0 confirmations then disappeared

Money goes back to Bovada correct ?

It has been 48 hours and bovada is checking with there withdrawl provider

This was for 6500usd

Any help and info is appreciated
Thanks

Would you please kindly delete this post and create your own thread?

If not, well, assuming that Bovada loves to send withdrawals with low fees and keep the rest for themselves.
Do you have the transaction id? If tx is still in the mempool it will simply be unconfirmed, shouldn't just magically goes missing..
118  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Technical doubt on: May 27, 2017, 02:44:03 PM
Ok, these are the unconfirmed:

0cb8073e615db7ad0ce16eebb131dea490b611b881b3788bb5387493f240d6cc

7242bcd7ec30349c59bc179fb88c0b05daa7444cb4e1da844061adf861bdea81

Tx 1 : https://blockchain.info/tx/0cb8073e615db7ad0ce16eebb131dea490b611b881b3788bb5387493f240d6cc
Holy shit man...That transaction was sent with a 22.222 sat/Bytes fee... In perspective, the optimal fees in sats / byte is 400.. haha

Tx 2 : https://blockchain.info/tx/e3dc08395e80bdf7fd17afd2386842aaa670c817657364495dda01104fcb4182 , the inputs in this transaction came from a transaction before that that has not been confirmed, this tx will not confirm unless the prior one has, this is the parent tx : https://blockchain.info/tx/0cb8073e615db7ad0ce16eebb131dea490b611b881b3788bb5387493f240d6cc, they both have around 241 sats/byte fee, not that low, not good enough either.

Tx 3 : https://blockchain.info/tx/9e30ce4dc6adb938f3f316f9e37909fa037d4a895ab450a5635ae1aac928a652... wait, this tx was made after Tx 2, for this to confirm, refer to tx 2 summary.

Tx4 : https://blockchain.info/tx/7242bcd7ec30349c59bc179fb88c0b05daa7444cb4e1da844061adf861bdea81 ... made using outputs from tx 3, refer to tx 3.

Basically Tx 2 3 4 is a clusterfuck / chain of unconfimed parents. you need  https://blockchain.info/tx/0cb8073e615db7ad0ce16eebb131dea490b611b881b3788bb5387493f240d6cc to confirm before tx 2 before tx3 before tx 4. If using electrum and you have child pays for parent enabled. Right click the tx 7242bcd7ec30349c59bc179fb88c0b05daa7444cb4e1da844061adf861bdea81 , select  CpP and it should show you the fees needed with a slider, if you are urgent slide to the most rightmost fee. If using other wallets, maybe someone else more experienced can help you.

As for tx 1, the same way for Child Pays for parents apply, a replace by fee tx might also work
119  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Blockchain Is Pain in A$$ - Help Please on: May 27, 2017, 02:31:00 PM

No , but many people working for blockchain are present on bitcointalk, so thought they might help.

Sorry if I sounded rude earlier on. I should probably give you a psa that developers that work on the actual bitcoin blockchain or bitcoin core desktop wallet are not affilated with blockchain.info, having a similar name does not mean they work on one or the other or both haha. Side note though, they are known for slow responses (blockchain.info). Also I really recommend you getting a desktop wallet.
120  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Technical doubt on: May 27, 2017, 02:28:20 PM
Hello everyone,

This is my problem: I have 4 transaction unconfirmed (5day), I want to know if I can make a new transaction with a high fee or I have to wait for the unconfirmed transactions success,

In other words: the transactions are independent? or they go one behind eachother?

Thank you.

If you gave us the transactions in particular, we might be able to provide you more information.

thank you Smiley, what fee do you recommend me to pay Huh , all my funds including the 4 unconfirmed transaction are <0.3BTC

As mentioned, without the transactions in particular, we do not know the number of inputs hence the tx size, so we cannot really recommend anything
