We now have a public mining pool that will be used until the official CampusCoin mining pool is finished. The pool can be found here: http://cmpco.labrack.xyz/ We recommend users connect to port 3008 as that has vardiff turned on $CMPCO

Source : https://medium.com/@campuscoin/campuscoin-project-progress-report-5-5d252a7daf2eReminder: Update wallets prior to 12/29/2017 Tonight, the CMPCO blockchain will be passing block 195,000. With only 15,000 blocks to go, we are rapidly approaching block 210,000 where the block reward and max supply reduction update will occur. For those who do not know, this update was implemented to reduce the amount of CMPCO being flooded into the market by miners who solely seek to mine and dump CMPCO. The update will include:
Reducing the max supply of CMPCO from 2,000,000,000 to 1,010,000,000 Reducing the block reward for mining CMPCO from 1500 to 500
There won;t be any problem with this, right ? I'm still a bit worry... It will be great if it work seamlessly. There will be 0 issues with anyone who has the new update. All exchanges have successfully updated, but there are still a few members who have not upgraded, only they will have issues if they continue to neglect upgrading.

Seems like a plain old artificial pump to me, that 237% increase in 24 hours.
Why should invest someone in a coin with such a large premine?
This pre-mine is used to help get as many coins the hands of student as possible, our goal is for students worldwide to use us everyday. People will be able to easily track where the pre-mine is and how/when it is being spent.

I remember reading about campus coin back when I was first getting into crypto back in July 2017. Good to see that it is still around and hopefully will make a comeback soon!
The private ledgers idea could be promising but getting colleges behind it will be difficult.
Thank you for the support. We know this is a daunting task, but are confident we can show them all the necessary benefits to convince them there is no other way.

I see on the new roadmap that there are plans for private sub-ledgers for schools. This is where I see the largest opportunity for Campus Coin. Many universities already have points that can be purchased as part of a meal plan and only spent at certain stores around campus. CampusCoin could replace that.
I know it's a long ways off but are you thinking of implementing child chains or side chains or something else to achieve this?
Yes, we are discussing this every day and have thought of a few different ways in which this can be achieved. We will announce when we have more information about this.
