101  Other / Off-topic / Re: Why do people lose in gambling and still go ahead and bet more? on: May 08, 2024, 12:59:51 PM
I've a friend of mine who always complain that ever since he started gambling he haven't won a good amount, instead he'll be winning less money than what he expected but he can't stop. So I'm asking what do you suggest he should do at this case. For me I told him that he should know that gambling it's a game of risk and luck, but with the constant betting you might win the amount you've at mind someday. So what are your suggestions towards this.

I think he should keep it at this level, because having a mindset of getting it big at once usually it's not favourable as it might generate to an uncountable loss for him,he should be grateful that luck is generally on his side as it's making him win small amounts nevertheless he should hold on tight and don't be on a rush cause in life it's better of starting small, aiming big and making it all out someday this is the best strategy I'll say as pertaining Gambling that will help alot.and again gambling with an amount you can afford to lose will keep him on a safer side.
102  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is it proper for younger ones to gamble? on: May 08, 2024, 12:53:51 PM
On all gambling sites and gambling places like land based casinos and betting agents, there is a restriction for under 18 not to gamble. But the rule is not taking seriously in some countries like Africa and Asia. If the teenagers are under 18, no gambling platform should allow them to gamble but they will not even ask the student of their ID cards to know if they are eligible to gamble it not.

Exactly the rate at which young ones gamble is really alarming and besides no restrictions is being followed to put that on effects,it's really not proper seeing younger ones doing this because it will only limits their nurture and ambitions of focusing on their education.
And I think any land base sites that overlook restrictions for under 18 should be sanctioned and dealt with, cause with this it will only make the society and country worse and we might end up getting toxic people in the society.
103  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Could China (or similar) take control of Bitcoin? on: May 07, 2024, 11:57:03 PM
In as much as China is against the utilization and bitcoin adoptions,China could possibly want to totally get all round control over bitcoin.
However,China's competence to completely take control of bitcoin could be at 0.1 level. Before ever any country wants to authoritates bit coin, she should be capable of solving at least the threatening and consumable activities that are going on or going to occur.
China will not engage bitcoin or whatever they intend doing to bitcoin cannot be predicted or managed under normal circumstances.
104  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to get your Dad (or Mom) to buy Bitcoin? on: May 07, 2024, 02:56:36 AM
How do you want your mom and dad to understand all these wall of text that you wrote. It will be boring to them and that alone can discourage anyone from listening to you the second time. You must not convince or force anyone to buy bitcoin, so that you will not be held responsible for their actions, when the price of bitcoin goes south or if anything happen to their bitcoin investment.

Just tell whoever that you want to introduce to bitcoin, the basic concept of bitcoin that it is worth investing in bitcoin as an investment for a long time or to use it as their savings because it is an hedge against inflation, instead of keeping their savings in banks that will depreciate overtime. They should also use the amount of money that they can afford to lose. Whoever is interested will make research and come back to you showing interest, then you can throw more light on bitcoin the second time.

Period, the efforts doesn't have to be more than this entirely, whoever thinks its worth going for would apply the necessary steps and to buy bitcoin or even research to hasten the possibility of having to part of bitcoin.
I practically don't have any medium that I intend to use to make my parents show interest. If there is,its just the normal basics of bitcoin that I tell them..and honestly that didn't work out for me.
Bitcoin needs to be handled with proper and vast knowledge, with calculated risks and constant efforts  put into consideration.
105  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will the number of new investors reduce? on: May 07, 2024, 02:34:56 AM
The halving was a major event that attracted many new investors to bitcoins, some started investing seriously some months to the halving just so to make some profit from it.The halving was what attracted them, but now that the halving has come and gone, do you think that the number of new investors will reduce for the now until the next halving is close again?

I would say that most investors are intentionally been or playing safe instead of playing smart. Most of bitcoin investors are only trying to ensure that they get whatever they request, the outcome of the investment as expected.
The bitcoin halving already played a significant role to all bitcoin users. But as time goes on,bitcoin increases, numerically and users are more concerned with making more progress from whatever they started in bitcoin.

With everything that's happening now, bitcoin investors are constantly increasing.I think the bitcoin halving has made investor's consider some of the choices in bitcoin that they ordinarily wouldn't be expecting. Its going to be a big win and goal for bitcoin users to normalize the opportunities to the crypto space.
106  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The reason why you shouldn't force someone to invest in bitcoin. on: May 07, 2024, 02:10:44 AM
Force is too strong a word. You can’t force someone to invest their money in something they don’t want to. However you can convince people that x investment is profitable. Simply telling people about the benefits of bitcoin and encouraging them to invest can have its repercussions especially when dealing with friends and family. These category of people do not care to know about the risks involved in bitcoin trading and the volatility of bitcoin as an asset. Their only concern is making profits and if that doesn’t happen then they will drag you for a refund of their money. This is something you have to deal with when introducing family and friends to Bitcoin.
Ur
Their decision cannot be coerced, whatever that should come from them has to be determined and thoroughly examined. You wouldn't want to bear the loss from having and trying to attribute the decision on them.
Normally, introducing people to such investment can lead to various risks and losses, and no wants to spearhead whatever will constitutes difficulty or challenge.

They should be willing and showing interests at all round levels, not everyone would want to engage themselves in bitcoin, but once they play or show uninterested, just hands up and try something productive. You shouldn't bear the losses for your actions of trying to help.
107  Economy / Economics / Re: Not your keys not your funds Banks on: May 06, 2024, 05:28:58 AM
To be honest Banks have liabilities to other bigger banks and instutions If you own funds in bank it's not yours
In the future the new money system should be that at least some amount what you have in bank account for example up to 30k $ you can transfer into your private self custody wallet, i heard that's the plan and yes its needed.
Nowdays i feel like my bank account balance is just numbers and i have no control over it the true wealth i have is cash in my pocket or wallet and the cryptocurrency.
Also Banks hold extra liabilities to other financial instutions and bigger banks and you might have mortgage or car loan with your bank you might think they own it but not If your bank have problems than you might lose your home even you pay mortgage for your home.
The thing is that banks and other debit credit instutions don't expose to customers openly info about how much leverage or risk they have and liabilities what they need to pay to other financial instutions If not they must liquitate their assets.
In times like this you only want to deal with bigger banks and credit /debit instutions.
But i feel that crypto and cash are real money the bank balance on my bank account i feel little sceptical yes banks are safe but still i need that feeling that at least some of my funds are under my own control.

Although, banks holds several security measures that'll manage risks as theft and robbery, saving money in the bank Is also not a good decision,as the bank is not a reliable place to keep and protect your money.

However, individually,it would also be safer to have other opinions and options for your money as well.Whether its to invest in stocks, real estates,or consider investing in cryptocurrency.
Investing into bitcoin will help it develop and build an even more secure financial future for yourself.
108  Economy / Economics / Re: Take care of your money and learn to save. on: May 05, 2024, 10:14:14 PM
People's financial situation is not always the same as we have enough money now but in the future we may not have enough money to spend. Now we have enough money so now I will go out of my way to spend money as I want for no reason then later when I don't have enough to spend but no one else will give me money to spend. It is a fact that as long as you have money and as long as you spend money behind others people will speak for you and people will be with you but if one day you want to walk with them without spending money then you will find no one to walk with. Since money brings people closer and money drives people away, money should be given the most importance.

The amount of money that we are earning now is divided into several parts and the remaining money is the money but if we want we can invest or save so that if there is a financial crisis in the future but this saved money will support us well.

We must be careful about money, if you are careful about money then there is no problem if people call you stingy because some people's job is to say bad things about others.

Most importantly, its adviced or its better to adhere to policies that'll really benefits ones financial lifestyles and growth.Do not save what is left after spending, but spend what is left after saving”...You'll see that every postive approach towards learning and abiding to financial   instructions like this makes life easy and comfortable too.

Having a clear and realistic attempt towards one's goals, and having a plan to achieve those goals within the expected period of time is indeed worth going for.Supposedly, having a goal/plan to improve your financial status, and then efforts put together to achieve successful habit's towards your aim is also another capacity in addition to actualize and establish new saving habits.

109  Economy / Economics / Re: BRICS has become eleven countries instead of five. on: May 05, 2024, 09:43:02 PM
Honestly, the BRICS is becoming more and more stronger with their component's.They're strongly forming into a huge and large alliance, they're alliance is threatening and will begin to frighten other economic activities. As it is right now,it's very difficult to determine  or predict what the BRICS are up to.
This is ultimately a big win for China because they seem to be fighting for a strong voice in today's world affairs. The BRICS is generally increasing in population and politically and economically all together.
110  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Have you successfully influenced someone to invest in bitcoin ? on: May 05, 2024, 06:46:12 PM
I keep the bitcoin investing to myself so I can't say for sure that I've convinced or successfully converted someone to invest into bitcoin, I'd love the idea that I'll convince someone to invest in bitcoin though but the only caveat is that they're the ones that will come to me and not the other way around, I don't want to force them to learn something that they only have a vague interest in and we've talked to pass the time, I don't like to be blamed for something because I've forced them into it, that's not really my style.

Not yet exactly,I keep investing suggestions to myself so I can be safe for later and the future.I haven't really introduced anyone to investing in bitcoin, incase something goes wrong,I wouldn't be accused for luring someone into fraud. It could actually result because of one's greed, ignorance and unintelligent approach.
I haven't really succeeded in convincing someone to invest in bitcoin all along,it's supposed to be a suggestion or serve as an advice, but the bigger role is to come from the other person;the positive response, and efforts to truly a experience good outcome from the investment choice.
111  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Use your winning responsibly on: May 02, 2024, 12:47:23 PM
Wow congratulations that's nice to here. This kind of stuff love seeing using your money won gambling wisely most people will let greed get the best of them, they will be finding more which will make them gamble with the cash they win from the previous gambling and end up losing all their funds. Is good to see the things you have use your gambling cash to achieved to know that yah gambling is not meaningless.

Aside having income and your a responsible gambler or not it's best to use your winnings properly on something that's useful ,with this now I remembered the first win I got,I was still in the tertiary instituon what I did was to get lots of foodstuffs and textbooks to aid my learning effectively.i know sometimes you might be thinking of wanting to chill out and have a great time but here your decisions after a big win matters a lot and goes a long way in setting your pace in the future.
So most cases of such big wins the money should be spent wisely and responsibly I attest to that.
112  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Who should quit, and why? on: May 02, 2024, 12:39:37 PM
Hey house someone need a few clips here, don't know if a post of this exact nature has been discussed though.

In a situation where the both spouse are gamblers. Husband gambles, wife gambles, how can both of them manage the situation in terms of finance and the family affairs especially when children are now involve so that the time both spends on gambling doesn't affect family moments and affairs in general.

Would it help if  one of the couple quit for the other and if that's the case who should quit for who.

I think it seems like it was just discussed here in the gambling section, like you are talking about here. It is difficult to have both parents addicted to gambling. And it is impossible that their children do not see that. Except that it depends on the age of their child, who has a broad mind about gambling.

Even if one of them quits, it will be difficult for him to do that 100%, and of course he still sees that his wife will gamble. Maybe it would be better if they both stopped gambling; that would be better so they wouldn't be tempted to gamble.

Mmmm  for me I think the wife should stop gambling because she has a lot task to handle as being focused in moulding the kids, mostly the Man don't have much time to stay at home doing such except when he wants to help out but finding both of them doing same thing isn't going to help the kids grow at balance cause they might grow up doing same thing they have watched their parents do.

The wife should stop,I don't see it as bad for a woman to gamble but in a responsible manner but mind you two wrongs can't make a right, one must advice the other,so it's better either of them stops tho.
But again why will both parents be gambling at the same time, are they going through financial crisis that they feel Gambling will sort it out or what.
113  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can You Submit KYC Before You Win Big on: May 02, 2024, 12:02:54 PM
That is how gambling sites are. Most of them will not demand for KYC from you as long as you are losing, but if you win and want to withdraw some money, they will go through your account and tell you to do necessary things before you can withdraw and requesting for your identity through KYC can be among the requirements.

My topics originates from the comment of this user above in this thread where the OP is writing to seek about KYC stuff. The link to it will be at the end of the topic.

I know casinos do this. I have experienced it too. It is also in their T&C. My question for casino lovers is that instead of waiting until we win big and are asked to submit KYC documents, will you do it before the casino management or administrator request of it? Is there anyone who has gone ahead to fill out and submit their KYC on their account or by asking their customer support for it way before they even start make a request.

Link to original post described in the OP - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5494948.0

I believe the first criteria that involves you having access to money or funds is doing the necessary by filling the KYC documents or verification but in a situation that it wasn't requested you should hold on  and follow the instructions.
But I know in some cases you wouldn't be needing that tho but yes you'll have to summit your KYC documents before you win big because it guarantees your access to withdrawals.
114  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: An aggressive gambler irrelevantly easing his Irresponsible gambling manner. on: May 02, 2024, 11:51:52 AM
I have heard lots of jokes about this, like people planning on changing their betting pattern.
Going from football to boxing, just so you get some pain for letting them lose money, and it's funny.

It's a game; one can lose or win, but these people do not want anything other than winning. Sometimes it's a way for them to console themselves after the loss. This also happened in football; despite the love they have for you, you're the cost of their loss. For that day, you automatically become a careless baller or keeper. I see no reason for being aggressive about not winning, and the statement isn't called for.

It's really funny as it may seem but the gambler is the big looser here, probably when the normal pattern don't favours them they change the  game and it's just the same or even worse so they end up being aggressive to themselves for not winning.
They don't change the game to another cause they want to console themselves from the loss, they just want to try another and see how it unfolds and then he goes on to boxing and loses alot them you hit it on my your supporting teem that lose that it's a good one he got a thorough beating for loosing just to ease your regrets...
It doesn't make sense and this is so hilarious.
115  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do Owners of betting companies bet? on: May 02, 2024, 11:42:52 AM
Do owners of betting companies place bet on their own platform or is there a policy specific policy that restricts them from betting. Do you think that there would be conflict of interest or that it will be unethical if owners bet on their own platforms. These are the questions that I am seeking an answer to.

A deep thoughts on this, but I see it that owners of betting companies do place bets too and yes in their own platforms but they don't show it,but rather they prefer doing it at a convenient space which is their office but have also seen other bet companies owners that do it visible too to both their staffs and clients, they do it to show they are also in the game together and to make their customers be at peace and comfortable placing bets.

Cause I use to visit this particular bet shop with my guys,so one day a quarrelling fight came with a guy that loosed,he said everytime he keeps loosing his money that where's your Boss,he keeps eating out money whereas he doesn't bets,so suddenly the owner of the place came out and explained to the man probably gis strategies are not working well for him,so he stood in the line to place bets and let's them watch him to prove to the guy that he loses money too.
116  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you care about what people say about you gambling? on: May 02, 2024, 11:31:18 AM
Greetings everyone and happy new year all!

Okay, today I was actually out for a little business and it happens that I almost spent all my time wasted without me even having a smooth deal, but along the line I have few games that I have placed a bet and was wanting to view my games from my phone since gambling is now mobile, what I meant by mobile is that you can access your account at any place provided that you have an internet connectivity you will login to monitor your matches.

So when I logged in, someone close to me easily peep from my left hand side and noticed that I just opened my account monitoring my games, at this point what he said is "ahh you don join dem"? Meaning you have also belong to the groups of people that gambles?

On a lighter note, I just smile and asked him if there is anything wrong while gambling or while monitoring my games and he said nothing but just that few people he knew that are gambling almost turned useless.

This now triggered me to come ask here whether you cares about what people says or sees you as when gambling, I know there are people who don't know you from time or who doesn't believe that you are a gambler and if it happens that you came across such people and their reaction towards you goes other way round would you care about it or you just totally ignore them?

Let's discuss amicably

Well it's just like trying to make certain decisions in life,we all know that the society had a huge effect on us in the sense that when we do good and bad there must be some group of people that will usually reckon you for what you've done and it's not like they hate or something but are trying to look out for the good in us but in the other hand their are some that don't mind what you do or experience but with this now it has a way to clearly prove to us that what this people says matters or not.

But  in the aspect of gambling people's opinions matters most times I would say probably if your an addicted gamblers ,but if you're a responsible gambler it doesn't change a fact about you to be bothered about what  people say.
117  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Would you cashout or wait for the game to conclude? on: May 02, 2024, 10:57:10 AM
The cash out amount is encouraging and the gambler must have made profit, that is why there is no need to be greedy, and allow the game to end, because just one game can cut this slip.

I have seen a lot of people that got greedy and lost the bet and also I have also seen someone that didn't cash out and won the bet. Currently, he is using the wins from that game to build his house. Personally, cash out is my best option on this. This is because I will get mad at myself if I don't cash out and end up losing. I

This is hilarious, exactly I would do same too if I didn't cash out, imagine seeing your wins and then your deciding to wait till the games finishes, what if it didn't turn out to your expectations and then you loose the bets and also the money.

Sometimes I use to watch some funny skits where the person ask questions and then people responds,if you get a question correct your given some said amount and then you're asked another probably you failed the money won would be taken away from you and you end up being a looser entirely but rather once you answer and gets it right it's advisable to go with the money instead of wanting to double it or something..

This is simple life mathics that a lot should understand and adhere to
118  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: cash out or let it ride? on: May 02, 2024, 10:41:09 AM
How would you let such huge sum ride,I'll better cash out than let it ride,it's just like having a bigger opportunity to win and you decide to walk away from it and let it be.who does that this is $1500.
Letting it ride will only make you loose all this money got,if you don't want to cash out why then coming this far
119  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A lot of gambling sites are scams ! on: May 02, 2024, 10:32:05 AM
You can find online crypto casinos in the sig and avatar of many reputable users in this forum, you can try out the one in my sig and avatar, if it meets your needs; but take note that you must do your own research even when someone recommends a service to you.
Do not rely on signature and avatar campaign, it has nothing to do with the reputation of the gambling sites because it is just marketing tool.
You might be trapped if you choose a casino just because you see their signature in this forum.
Most casinos here who have signature campaign are indeed reputable enough but dont forget that there might be a scammy site that try to expose their existency in this forum (e.g 1xbit).

Yes alot of gambling sites are scam but your statement here does it literally mean being into a signature campaigns is destructive?? I really want to get it straight concerning you saying one shouldn't rely on signature campaigns, does it really have an effect on the gambling sites and why do you think one should not rely on them.
120  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will you be worried or comfortable seeing your elderly mother gambling? on: May 02, 2024, 10:18:14 AM
Why should I not be comfortable if she is gambling responsibly. But I will prefer she should do it online instead of offline using betting agent. Because as I saw that image, that is a betting agent shop and I will not like to see my mother there. This is because in my country, only young guys are common in such a place and that would be an embarrassment for my mother and me. But if it is online that she is doing it, I will not be worried at all if she is gambling responsibly.

Your right doing it online makes it more comfortable and secured so as to avoid embarrassment and insults from people, for me I would be very uncomfortable and worried seeing my mum go to such betting shops to place bets.

The thing is this elderly woman have been into the betting/gambling game and that very day I think she was having a positive mindset that the games would put on a big win,so as it didn't turn out that way, that's the reason it showed on the other part of the picture that she was frustrated and confused but nevertheless she would have use her phone or probably ask her son if she has to play for her instead of stressing herself going to the bet shop.
This shows a true sign of she being addicted to it so the outcome guaranteed that and aher facials expression,I wouldn't be happy seeing my mum or any elderly woman out there doing this just like this woman it will be a big slap to my face.
