101  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Buying shitcoins dirt cheap and selling when they go up. Risky or no? on: July 31, 2017, 03:48:30 PM
That's my current strategy right now.

Buying any coin on a steep decline and selling once the price tries to balance.

What do you guys think?

How do you call bottom and why are you confident it will rise again?

Buy low, sell high is the strategy, the details are the complicated part. Cheesy

All time low through candle stick chart.

In theory,  this is exactly what you should be doing, buying low and selling
high.  The problem, and the reason why it doesn't work for a lot
of traders is that you have no idea if those shit coins are going to
go back up, ever.   Another thing is that this market is heavily manipulated
and is subject to the whims of pumpers and dumpers.  So the dice are
loaded.

Buy buying low and selling high...yeah, you're on the right path.   Good luck.

So would it be wise to do this to coins that are well known or not ridiculous coins? Right now I'm doing this on bittrex but I think this trading would be better suited for poloneix correct me if i'm wrong.

104  Other / Off-topic / Re: Anyone read "The road less traveled"? on: July 31, 2017, 02:43:34 PM
Yes, I read it and I think its meaning is usually misunderstood. The author, in my opinion, wanted to say even the road more traveled can give you high rewards in life. Don't need to be always offbeat

That doesn't make sense. I thought it was about the opposite.

Most people think so. But if you read it more carefully you find the actual meaning of the poem. It basically says the two roads are interchangeable.

I suggest you to read this article: https://www.theparisreview.org/blog/2015/09/11/the-most-misread-poem-in-america/

I'm talking about the book not the poem.

106  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: is it possible to have fulltime income with altcoins trading ?? on: July 30, 2017, 06:06:23 AM
Yes but its the same as Daytrading with stocks.

Do you have the knowledge of doing this? Also you need a lot of capital for this. It's doable because this is a new market however you could also lose since alts are like penny stocks wolf of wall street style.
107  Other / Off-topic / Re: Anyone read "The road less traveled"? on: July 28, 2017, 09:21:09 PM
I don't know that book, but not always taking the hardest road will give you the best reward, of course i talk about my own experience.

That doesn't make sense

How did it impact your life?

Is it a good read?

Basically, do you always have to pick the hardest road for the most reward?

Tell us or me what your trading strategy is

I do small gains on large dips but that's a risky move, sometimes I climb the mountain when the price rises or when news opens up.

I'm curious what others do to gain money.

I keep my eyes and mind open every time and track the market almost everytime, even at my office. That's my strategy to trade. Also patience is very crucial because traders need to have patience. Without patience, you will tend to make drastic step which may not earn you anything.

Market tracking is very important because then only you will be able to notice the trading opportunities and make use of it. Also you may look for arbitraging. Where you can buy frm one exchange at a lower price and immediately sell at another exchange at a higher price. Google it and you will learn arbitraging.

Whats an example of a price difference on arbitrage?
112  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What's your trading strategy? on: July 28, 2017, 02:53:42 PM
In investing in crypto, the only strategy to make a profit is  "buy low and sell high." You may have heard of this, but it's not easy to actually do that. Before you invest money into crypto, you need to make sure you have a thorough understanding of the crypto market and the tools on the trading exchanges.

I'm sure its like trading in the regular market. It seems so and also not as volatile as penny stocks can be.
113  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: When do YOU sell? on: July 27, 2017, 05:48:39 PM
Simple actually I sell when the price is high and I buy when the price is cheap
So I get the profit from the difference between the sale and purchase

This "strategy" is really simple but i think everyone use it, as this is the easiest way to get profit from trading, you won't lose money if you sell for more than you bought for, problem is that sometimes you will have to wait days or even weeks to sell.

Personally i sell only when i am sure that i earn from it, it would be dumb to sell when you lose money, unless you know that this currency will crash or so.

Correct. "When the time is right"
The investment needs to be fruitful and it should not be just a little fruit but needs to be ripe to maximize the profit.
We cant just harvest when we get just a little of it. Panic and greed wont work or it will just be regret afterwards.
Greed into withdrawing early while the investment is still on the process of being ripe. There should be a right timing on when to withdraw.

I agree that those who wait for the right time are the ones who get more profit than those who sell right away because they think small profit is enough. It may take time to see that big amount of profit in your portfolio but when that time comes you will thank yourself for the effort and patient in waiting.

Slow and steady wins the race. Unless you're waiting for news to break. Small profits every time add up.

115  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: If Ripple is number 3 on Coinmarket. How come its below 1 Dollar? on: July 26, 2017, 08:15:57 PM
Wouldn't the price get raised?

It wouldn't becasue of its super high supply. 38 billions ripple are out there now. I personally find the curent price very high. It should be below $0.05. Being $1/ripple means its market cap is 38 billions of dollars and this is not possible.

So with this logic any coin on short supply is going to be worth a lot even if the demand is so little?

Not sure if this is a good idea but I buy whenever something is -25% or around there and sell when it increases a few percentage
