Try using Nicehash to get its benchmarks. However, don't expect much from this GPU, it used to be a decent one but it's old, too old for this job. I had tested a friend's GTX 760 and its benchmarks were worse than my laptop's 950M. Older generation Nvidia GPUs are not quite efficient for mining.
NiceHash does not recognise it as a usable GPU... hold my beer while i cry Too old I guess and it's not supported, you can't do much with this GPU anyway, either sell it and buy a new, updated one. If you opt for Nvidia, go for 10xx Series. Definitely. Only play D3 with it really. Will aim for a 1050Ti or better

Go into BIOS, disable USB3.0/3.1?.... anything like that that isnt needed, might be stopping a riser slot working.

Any program (Win1064bit) Any coin...
Will it mine anything?... PC is on 24/7 so I wanna run it into the ground before I go buy 2 GTX 1060 6GB's
Same PC is running MinerGate all the the time (Only use MinerGate cos of my out-dated hardware, going to NiceHash after upgrades)
Please help, its my last hope for the old card lool its had a good shift.

If it aint broke, dont fix it.

Thank you for your contribution. As surprising as it is, not so many people posted the hashrates they get. Could you please give me what you can get on Groestl and Neoscrypt ?
ccminer 1.8.1 benchmark, 368.95 drivers Groestl: 25.94 Neoscrypt: 662.61 LBRY seems to be the most profitable now, unless there are some other undiscovered coins that I don't know. Thanks for that. Going to invest in 2 1060 6GB cards for so.e hobby mining :-)

Im using MinerGate at the moment but only cos im on old hardware. Once i upgrade to newer mobo, cpu/gpu... ill be hammering out NiceHash

I suggest you always get a PSU with at least 20% more powers than the total power consumption of you motherboard + CPU + GPUs, even though you might be able to get the system running under 750w PSU, you still have chance to burn the PSU if any power peak happens for the GPU so the best way is to get a 1000w PSU, you will be much less worried about limiting the power o each GPU
Ive added a 1000w PSU into my price calculations. Was going to aim for 1050 cards without extra power. But the more maths I do... i want 1060 or even 1070 cards with 6/8 pin power. Granted, even if i go with 1050 cards I'd add 6pin power to take the load away from the mobo

Biggest question yet - will this allow my GTX 260 to mine anything? or should I just use it to hold the door shut when I bath the dog?

I thought about 1050's aswell as i already own a 1050 ti and was able to test it and i also liked the idea of less pcie 6/8 pin plugs as this is the common shortage of all PSUs. Here is why i went for 2 1070s instead: -1050 2GB wont mine Ethereum, 1050 ti (4GB) is just a pain to reach any payout limits on any pool and also nicehash miner doesn't seem to like it (benchmark crashes). -My Zotac 1050 ti only gets 2.5 Sol/W on ZEC -It draws 75W through the PCIe slot (mainboard). I believe thats the reason why it also is not SLI Capable...you can definitely NOT pull 3,4,5 or 6 * 75W through your mainboard, it will melt...i wouldnt put more than 1 1050 per mainboard. -Over/Underclocking is very limited (70% - 100% TDP only)...though my card reaches +650mem easy If you really want to do this, check specifications of how much power you can draw on all PCIe slots together (I didnt check) but im sure it wont support 300W. Cheers Really good reply, thank you. I like the idea of going for less cards and going for the 1070+ cards too. Can always add more 1070's later Also, the 3 fan 1070 cards do look amazing imo. My planned rig builds is in very early stages, i wanna plan it, no rushing into ordering loads and getting the wrong setup.

With that much investment, Id go into ASIC Miners.

No version with nVidia support?
Guessing i need to upgrade me GTX 260 Black Edition....

Planning a building a hobby rig, 4 or 5 cards. Looking to populate the rig with GTX 1050 cards. Im after cards that dont need extra power from the PSU, so no more than 75watts.
In terms of mining ability (Yes, its a hobby rig, im not looking to retire in 2 years) What will I notice between the 2Gb and 4Gb versions of the 1050.
Also, If im thinking about this right, using GTX cards that dont need extra power connectors from the PSU, I can run 5 cards on 1 PSU being 750watt?
Thanks in advance

Hi,
I have a handful of 7870's and a 760TI, 2gb each, wired up to an old computer that's running Arch Linux atm. It's a bit of a shoddy setup, but I don't care about the power usage, I just want to see what I can mine with it.
Any suggestions for coin targets? Any chance of this system actually turning a respectable amount of coins out, given that I don't pay for power?
If i was you... head over to NiceHash and see what the NiceHash miner will give you.

What you want minning?
Anything, just a hobby rig to run NiceHash So on top of low hash rate, you want to give big chunk to people at nicehash? Ill be in profit after 176 days With today's rates and difficult to will probably be profitable in 176 days? Keep in mind that difficulty in 6 months will be much higher than today. I'd avoid the nicehash tax if you can. Any other recommendations?

Looking to build a small hobby rig with 4 or 5 RX 550 cards. They dont need extra PCIe power connectors from the PSU, would i still need a 1000 watt+ PSU to run with 4 or 5 GPUs? Bonus being, rig would only need 1 PSU right?

Gonna try this later on my Gtx 260... God i hope it works lool

Download the Bytecoin official wallet and try to mine BCN through the interface there. If your CPU is a quad core it is worth it, and the price of BCN has increased lately. Link where to download the wallet : https://bytecoin.org/downloads/ As for your GPU- I am afraid it is way outdated so you cannot put it to good use. wow... why cant all currencies be that easy to get up and running? 25 seconds and im mining already. ok its only 38 H/s but my hobby has started lol I don't know , I am glad that I helped, I started out the same as you, I tried CPU mining before jumping in and having quite a few boards running some with Nvidia cards and some with ATI. Nothing beats the feeling when you see your amount of the coin your are mining grow. You can try to mine from GTX 750 ti and from R7 ATI series if you find them cheap in your country, they are cheap everywhere now and they are good for beginners, if your PC is up 24/7 almost buy a 750 ti used for only 40-50 euro now and same price for R7 ATI, just a bit more 60-70 euro. Do not bother to by older generation cards as they will not be successful into mining. Oh yes you helped :-) Got 2 PC's and a laptop mining now hehe. Ill still keep having a stab at other methods, i want to get a cmd prompt miner running, either on my CPU or GPU. Who knows, i might still crack it 1 day
