101  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Bounties (Altcoins) / Re: ByteBall Signature Campaign on: March 20, 2018, 02:10:06 PM
Hello sir,
I would like to as whether or not I am allowed to reserve a spot in another campaign when I am already enrolled in a running campaign and it might be about to end.
If YES, then-
I would like to reserve a spot and join this campaign once my current campaign is finished.
Thank you.
Btctalk name - Fazlurkhan.kz
Rank - Full Member
Current post count - TBA
GBYTE address - TBA
Wear appropriate signature - Once my current campaign ends
Wear avatar - Once my current campaign ends

If NO, Then I'm really sorry and I'd keep it in mind that I don't repeat this mistake in the future.
Thank You.

This means 100 user for each rank, or a total of 100 uesr for all rank?
I'm in the position of 110 now. Is it still too late?
It is not 100 users of each rank, It's the total number of users that can be in this campaign that is 100. And you'll be notified if you're selected or not once the spreadsheet is out.
102  Other / Meta / Can we send merit to self? on: March 20, 2018, 01:58:47 PM
I just observed that I can send merit to my own post but I am afraid that is not right or I'll be punished by getting banned for doing it?
Has anyone ever tried sending merit to themselves? Has that created an issue? Is it okay to do so?
I personally think that AS merit was created to reward meaningful and informative posts sending merit to self would be wrong. I just want to know that has anyone tried doing it.
103  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why Bitcoin mining is so popular in Iceland? on: March 20, 2018, 01:38:51 PM
The whole point of mining is to earn profits and any place offering cold climate enough to keep the mining machines from overheating and acting as a natural coolant saving money for an artificial one and on top of that if there are sources from which energy in the form of electricity is available that's just a cherry on the cake saving far more money as electricity would get cheaper and making the most out of mining. The only drawback is the expensive graphics cards used for mining which can be neglected as mining in these reasons would be profitable and would be enough to get all those extra pieces of machinery used for mining.
104  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will The Price Of Bitcoin Increase Forever? on: March 20, 2018, 12:59:08 PM
The price of bitcoin must become stable at some point when the whole 21 million is in circulation or at least there will be an average value of bitcoin around which it will show a minute increase or decrease.
As an investor, the best way to go is to keep investing only that amount of your money you are willing to lose or won't mind losing. While saving further and invest when there is a major drop because the BITCOIN is a rollercoaster ride and when would it rise or go down is just a surprise to everyone on board. Just keep ignoring all the negative comments you hear about bitcoin and HODL!You will surely have fruitful results in the near future!
105  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Facebook bans cryptocurrency ads due to frequent fraud on: March 20, 2018, 12:53:33 PM
The decision of banning cryptocurrency ads is not only taken by Facebook but Google as well. It surely is a great decision as most of the people assume that ads popping on Google or Facebook are like the proof of the project or coin being legit. To stop people from getting astray it is a great step taken by the companies and there should also be awareness amongst people that earlier it was a piece of cake to apply for posting your ad on google or facebook but now it's a different story!
106  Other / Meta / Re: A new rule is needed for bounty managers. Please share your opinions. on: March 19, 2018, 02:19:33 PM
Please do provide the bounties which are doing so. A lot of new projects do that because they need to keep everyone who is connected to their projects even the bounty hunters updated about their project and promote it.
What you can do is create a new email id just for the sole purpose of providing it to the bounty managers and getting all the emails these projects send for promotion purposes.
107  Other / Meta / Re: Any solution for over-crowded and useless posts? on: March 18, 2018, 11:31:09 AM
Here are some solutions to this:

1) There should be a default option enabled that a thread will be automatically locked after it gets a certain number of responses. The member opening the thread will have the option to reopen the thread if he thinks he has still not got  correct reply to his query. Currently the new members ask a question and they disappear from the forum. Members keep giving suggestions and replies and the OP never comes back to lock the thread.

2) Another thing you can do to see recent posts is sort them by replies and views. Those with less replies and views are new ones.
The first one sounds like a good idea and the second one just needs support from the users of this forum to make it better!

This might be a little counter intuitive for a forum, but the way other websites (reddit, quora, stackoverflow) solve this is by ranking replies.  Replies with the highest ranking are shown first which directs people to the most significant answers or comments.
noooo ^^ person above me sniped me idea while I was afk.....fudge me what a cruel world Undecided Sad  Roll Eyes

Idea #1: Reddit like system. Up voted posts the most hit the top (ie likely the one you want to merit most) and so forth.

Idea #2: You are not allowed creating threads until you reach the Member. I believe this will slow down the spamming although it may not get rid of it outright.

That can create this forum better but MERIT system kind of already doing what you're suggesting. It's just that the merited post don't flash to the top and one has to search for the proper merited post on a particular topic!

I would suggest that the already existing megathreads containing repeated topics and replies be closed first especially those ones at the Bitcoin discussion board even if the solutions mentioned here are not implemented.
Here's an example of a thread that needs to be shut down immediately.
Maybe someone could create a new thread which has all the general questions a newbie on this forum has to answer and maintains that topic and keeps it updated daily or weekly.

Also, it's not like our OP hasn't posted in a megathread before.
I too was a newbie once here and I'm not saying I've gained all the experience that has to be gained but I still am learning!

One problem with locking a topic as you suggest, it prevents users to have a discussion, debate...

With time you know what topic to avoid just by reading the title

There's nothing wrong with topics that need a debate. Here I'm just pointing out useless topics which clearly are of no use and are still getting loads of unnecesary replies.

Thank you
I'll now lock this topic. If anyone wants to add anything more valuable just pm me I'll unlock it.
Thanks for your ideas - lukyanli, mtmonte and DdmrDdmr.

108  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is bitcoin a criminal tool? on: March 17, 2018, 05:38:15 PM
There are good sides and bad sides of everything in this entire universe. If we just focus on the bad side we'll miss out its advantages. Bitcoin surely can be used for criminal activities but it is more convenient for the people than fiat or any other alternative because it hands over its complete control to its owner and also makes some people earn a good amount of side money which completes their desires or help some to secure their future.
109  Other / Meta / Any solution for over-crowded and useless posts? on: March 17, 2018, 05:11:54 PM
So there are countless topics in this forum that are answered in like the third or fourth post but are continued to be filled by shitposters with the answers just repeated in different styles.
One way that I think to stop that is the user who starts a new topic waits for his answer and when he does receive the most satisfactory reply to his topic he awards the reply a merit and then locks the topic so that no further waste gets accumulated in the topic and anyone who wishes to gain knowledge can just read the topic and get only what he exactly wants. What this would also do is make the merit system functional and no one would have to wait for light years to get promoted to a new rank.

So please suggest any of your ideas.
I'll start implementing my idea from now by choosing the best 2 ideas and award each 1 merit!
110  Economy / Speculation / Re: What's happening to Bitcoin on: March 17, 2018, 04:57:34 PM
There was a news that this particular drop of bitcoin is due to the new policies and rules implemented by Google in its ads. Due to this, there are many Ponzi projects get what they deserve and are avoided by people to save them from getting scammed.
As bitcoin continues to fall all others also fall along with it as most of the altcoins value is compared and decided through bitcoins price.
111  Economy / Economics / Re: Will countries or central banks create their own cryptocurrency? on: March 17, 2018, 04:51:55 PM
Just in the fear of vanishing completely, banks might take any necessary steps to prevent their demolition be it creating a new DIGITAL or CRYPTO currency. As people would not like any further continuation of the old ritual of banks having control over their wealth.
Not to miss all the big whales making money through banks, they would take any required step to protect the banks.
112  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin is the currency on: March 17, 2018, 04:48:02 PM
Definitely, bitcoin will be used for vast purposes in the near future and for that, there should be enough miners in the community to support and keep the bitcoin system running efficiently so as to be the best and still attract investors or acceptors.
If not fiat then it surely will replace gold for sure as rather than the difference of gold being physical and bitcoin digital, almost they have everything in common.
113  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Bitcoin loose its popularity? on: March 16, 2018, 08:58:33 PM
Eventually, it can happen due to high transaction fee and slow transactions. But bitcoin completely losing its popularity is not going to happen as there are huge whales in the market who won't want that to happen as the majority of their income or wealth is hidden or concentrated in bitcoin and most of the companies around the world have a link to cryptocurrency especially bitcoin. It still is a way of a moderate income to some people so it's not going to lose popularity anytime soon or it might never even lose its popularity.
114  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why on: March 16, 2018, 08:05:47 PM
In a bitcoin blockchain, power is to be distributed equally to each and every stakeholder in it with no one having any superiority in the means of power by any other stakeholder. Now as the blockchain community grows it becomes more difficult to change the rules of it. So they create a new blockchain and a new community to make alterations in rules in the blockchain easier including the changes or deciding number of transaction in a block.
115  Economy / Speculation / Re: which coins I should hold for profit in the months to come. on: March 16, 2018, 07:45:08 PM
Ripple has more support and a promising future as compared to waves and ripple has been affected lesser that waves due to bitcoins price drop.
So it's better holding ripple and let go off waves for the better good.
116  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Controlling Bitcoin on: March 16, 2018, 07:38:21 PM
There are no decisions to be taken and no modifications to be done. The bitcoin network continues to spread and is functional because of its miners. They're the one who makes bitcoin transactions possible and makes it look like a Childs' work. They also are the one build or say mine more bitcoins so as to increase the number of circulating bitcoins and maintain the blockchain on which all the information of bitcoins of an individual in different blocks are stored!
117  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The Future of ICO on: March 16, 2018, 07:09:15 PM
After the number of scams increased since past few years, investors think a 100 times before investing in any ICO as the fear of losing their money haunts them. ICO won't last until the end of this year as there has been introduced a better alternative named ICO 2.0 which keeps the investors' tension free as their money is only released when it is needed for any purpose of the project like token creation or running campaign. Whereas in an ICO, once an investor invests his money his money is in control of the dev or the projects team.
118  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and Crypto Markets Continue Their Slide…But Why?! on: March 16, 2018, 06:57:36 PM
The downward slide of bitcoin and other cryptomarkets is partly due to the new google as policies which are to be implemented by June this year. It has taken measures to prevent fraud scams through google ads and clickbait. It has encountered a lot of amount of ads violating google ads rules. As the cryptocurrencies are the hot topic right now there might be people who will definitely try to scam in the name of crypto, so to prevent that it has taken appropriate measures.
Panic selling and all other reasons are the ones which result in a small drop but this particular drop is somewhat due to googles new policy!
119  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Cryptoes & stock exchange on: March 15, 2018, 08:17:09 PM
In cryptocurrency market, you invest in cryptocurrencies or coins. Whereas in a stock market you invest in a business company.
The concept of manipulation is possible in the cryptocurrency market whereas it's nearly impossible in the stock market.
The crypto market is around 10 times faster which means the prices in it rise or fall with greater speed compared to stock market.
120  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do you convince the people to invest in Bitcoin? on: March 15, 2018, 08:09:03 PM
First just face the fact that not everyone is going to support bitcoin whatsoever. Maybe because they just don't rely on technology that much or for any other reason. Now for the ones who are confused to invest or not, start with the history of bitcoins showing its severe fall in price and it's recovery too. The purpose for its existence. Still if they're not convinced just let them be and enjoy your experience in the crypto world!
