I think that EOS has a much stronger use case than Cardano does right now. I have seen lots of Dapps built on EOS but yet to see a single interesting application built on Cardanos. That is not to say they don't exist, just that I have yet to come across one. In the end it doesn't matter who has the superior tech, if no one uses it, it may as well not exist.

I would have been surprised if they had not been working on some sort of blockchain strategy since it is pretty obvious that the blockchain poses an existential threat to a business that has been built on handling online payments. Whether that strategy will be incorporating other coins into their currency options or creating their own blockchain remains to be seen.

I have serious doubts that the due diligence that the exchanges conduct goes much beyond asking the people doing the project to pass the same KYC tests that investors pass. They do not vet the projects to determine if they are good investments and are only really interested in collecting a commission which often runs 10% of the money raised. You still need to do all the same due diligence before you invest and be cautious of all the claims made.

Ethereum's recent rise is mostly just a general rise in cryptocurrency prices as we come off the oversold position. For Ethereum to rise on its own and at a faster rate than other blockchains one of two things need to happen. Substantial technological development like it sorting out the transition to proof of stake or a rebound in people raising money for new projects. Ethereum has established itself as the dominant platform for capital raising and its future will largely be tied to how that particular use grows.  

I don't, people don't learn until it affects them personally. We have had dozens of large hacks were investors have lost millions over the last few years and people still stupidly keep their money on Centralised Exchanges. Even though it is well known that they prone to being hacked and if you lose your money there are no investors protections to bail you out for being stupid. 

It will all depend on how investors react. Will they move their money out of Binance? I think that the effect will only be short term. It might make some people nervous but since Binance is going to eat the losses themselves this thing will likely blow over pretty quickly. People tend not to take these things seriously until it affects them personally, that is why you still have people that store their money on centralised exchanges where it can be stolen.

One that I like is DrugWars. It is run on the Steem blockchain and is a building game where you create a drug empire and compete against other people trying to do the same.  If you already have a Steemit account you have everything you need to start playing. It is a Freemium game so you can buy things to speed up the construction of your empire or play without investing any more than you have already in Steem. Message me if you want a link.

Hodling at all times is a stupid strategy. Cryptocurrencies have an identifiable pattern of swinging between absolute despair and unrealistic euphoria. The right strategy is to be a contrarian. When they start hitting new all time highs and people are getting overly bullish it is time to sell and when everyone talking about how much they have fallen and it all may be over then this is the time to buy.

The effects, if any, will be short term and quickly forgotten. We have seen lots of big hacks in the past and they only knocked down prices in the short term and after a week or so everything was back to normal. The only people who will suffer long term are those that had their money taken. If they continue to invest they will likely not keep their investment on a exchange. But the rest will learn nothing from it and will continue to keep their money on exchanges where they can be hacked and stolen.

When are people going to learn that your funds are not safe if stored on a centralised exchange? It doesn't matter who they are and how big they are. No one is hack proof. Your funds are at their safest when sitting in a wallet where only you have the keys. This time the people who lost money are in luck that it was relatively small in comparison to money that binance has set aside and I hear that Binance will make good on their loses. But the next one might not be and the Government is not going to come to the rescue of a crypto exchange and bail you out.

You need to be aware of the kind of risk you are taking on. I would never recommend borrowing in any currency that you don't get paid in. If you borrow in Dollars and get paid in Yen you could end up owing more than you can afford to pay back if the Dollar goes up against the Yen. With Cryptocurrency being so volatile this would be magnified. Imagine if you borrowed ETH to buy a Ford Fiesta. Now ETH goes up by 10 times its current value. Congratulations you are paying the cost of a Lambo for your Ford.

An ICO is just a method of raising money and as such is neither good or bad. They can be prone to abuse because they are completely unregulated. If you invest you need to do your own due diligence. You also have to be aware that they are startups and most startups fail within their first 2 years. If you can live with those risks, invest. If you can't, don't.
