What an ESL Pro League final that was, congratulation to Vitality for winning it in two overtimes against Team Liquid. Somehow I was rooting more for Liquid to win it, as they came from the third place in Group D and fought their way all the way to the finals, very impressive performance.  I didn't place anymore bets for the semi finals and final as I wanted to end this season in the greens.  My two last bets where FaZe to win against Cloud9 - which was a pretty poor performance for Faze, and Vitality to win against Outsiders, which even went into overtime. Somehow the two top teams NaVi and FaZe lost in the quarter finals - that really hurt to see it. Vitality went from world ranking #7 to #3 during that tournament. And this week already the qualifying games for the Intel Extreme Masters Major in Rio are starting. With less than a month to go for the big major we are going to see a lot of nice games. Today is Astralis playing again NiP, which should be a good win for NiP. And Vitality is playing against Fantasy is which is probably going to be the most one sided game of the day.
Latest update on HLTV ranking. Nice to see Vitality reclaim its place, compete for the #1 HLTV with Faze and Navi. I say right now, Vitality, Faze and Navi all are at the same level at each other and result would depend on their form, ban/pick map pool and whatever if was Bo1, Bo3 or Bo5. Some unconfirmed news, dev1ce might return to Astralis rooster with the transfer deal from NIP worth €600,000. Will be interesting to see Astralis match with dev1ce back.
102  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar - UEFA Qualifiers on: October 03, 2022, 10:40:00 AM
Qatar spent a lot of money to build and make its stadium and infrastructure very attractive. Besides, this World Cup is the first in the region.
Now, how successful will be, will be evaluated throughout the games.
I agree that in this game there isn't a clear favourite, most teams are equivalent with slight advantage for Brazil then Argentina but as everyone knows, in World Cup, you always see surprises and big teams might be eliminated early.

The 2022 World Cup is the Most Expensive FIFA Tournament in History.
The costs incurred are almost 20 times the funds spent by Russia to host the 2018 World Cup.
But economically, the World Cup is also predicted to provide many advantages for Qatar.
Estimated that during the world cup, will be around 1.2 million visitors come and watch live at the stadium.
And will add revenue for the Qatar economy to $17 billion.

Btw, I hope there will be a new world champion outside that has won the world cup before.
No amount of advantages or benefits that experts estimate are worth the hard-cold fact this Qatar World Cup cost more than 200 billion dollars so far. Can the 1.2 million visitors or $17 billion in revenue from everything together pay off the 200 billion dollars cost? Nope, no matter how much those experts want to spin.

You know, that's fine with Qatar too cause I said many times, they don't give a fuck about profit. This World Cup is held in their county as a huge ego-tripping to show off to the world how rich they're. How much money they could waste cause they're from the OPEC+ club. They'll get back the money by selling their oils to you, at a higher price, of course. The energy crisis might be damned and they laughed at your face since you're the one financial their lavish spending in this World Cup.
103  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin be Palestine's currency of freedom?? on: October 03, 2022, 10:05:28 AM
Not only do I think bitcoin is suitable for Palestine, but it seems suitable for all other countries everywhere when people want to have bank in their own hands without a central authority.
Yup, it can be a form of protest in case you want to undermine the central government's powers. That you don't want to recognize their legitimacy as a government representing you or your people, by not using whatever local currency the government issued. This opens up the chance for Bitcoin to be an alternative currency among that group of people, Palestine, Afghanistan,... you name it. Gold can be used too but because of how physical and weight they're, it'll be a hassle to use in daily life and easy to be banned by the government with metal detector or xray screening.

But of course some people think bitcoin can help terrorists to get paid and carry out illegal transactions, but that is not the main idea for every adoption.
Again, Bitcoin is like a tool. It wasn't its fault for the criminals to take advantage of it. To some freedom fighters out there that fight against the dictator or oppressive government, no doubt if Bitcoin were introduced, they would label it as illegal transactions for funding terrorists right away. It ain't our position to say whatever the cause of those freedom fighters was right or not. History is written by the victors. Heck, a few decades more, things might be completely different from how we saw them right now.
104  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Binance to remove USDC as a tradable asset. on: October 03, 2022, 09:48:59 AM
Also, once more interesting I want to point out that Binance did have some bait and switch tactics to get more people to convert their USDC to BUSD. I think around September, Binance introduced the high APR flexible staking/saving for BUSD/USDT. This concludes with news coming out beforehand about Binance to remove the USDC as trading pair. With no usage for the USDC, I think most people would rather convert to BUSD/USDT, especially for that very attractive APR (20% APR for below $200, 10% APR for $200-2000).

Now, everything seems in effect with fewer users of  USDC, and no pushback from the community, they 'switch' by lower that APR to 8% only for below $1000.
105  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: October 03, 2022, 09:19:37 AM
I understand why Erik ten Hag didn't prefer Ronaldo in the starting eleven. It was because of Rashford's recent form as he made a great impression in the Arsenal game as well. But I really don't get why he insists on not choosing Casemiro for the midfield at the beginning. He entered the game in the 60th minute this time.
He does not prioritize Ronaldo in the squad but Ronaldo is responsible for hks decreasing performance too. He would have played better if he had not try to leave in summer. He was not joined pre-season training and worse his mind was not ready for the new season. When he realized that he has to stay in Manchester United, it is just too late to get back training and get his body ready.

Quote
Manchester United are paying so much money for his salary and he has been brought here to strengthen the midfield. But Erik ten Hag doesn't look like he is willing to give him bigger chances. If he continues to do this then this transfer will be a waste of money.
His too high salary is main barrier why other clubs rejected to take him.  Ronaldo will not sign a new contract with Manchester United as we all see that they are still in bad organization as well as bad results. It is not convincible enough to ask Ronaldo continues with them.

From Manchester United and Ten Hag sides, I also don't see why they have to keep Ronaldo too. They want another start of another project without Ronaldo but with more younger players.
Maybe Ronaldo brought Manchester United the attention in the media, the tickets since he's a well known player, popular around the world? But yeah, I agree with your points. Since the start of this Premier League, ten Hag many times has stated that he intends to major revamp Manchester United. Many have guessed there is no Ronaldo's place in his plan. Still put us wonder why not sell Ronaldo when Cheasel offered a transfer deal for him.
Anyways, I'm thinking this loss to Manchester City shows how much the power gap between Manchester United. Well, ain't a shame if you only lose to the strongest club in the Premier League.
106  Economy / Economics / Re: SO MANY BLACK SWANS FOR ONE YEAR on: October 03, 2022, 08:43:55 AM
Imo, I don't see any other black swan as big as covid-19.

I coudn't agree more. No one thought that covid-19 way back 2020 would spread around the world. It ruined many businesses especially those that needs to work onsite. Many people lost their jobs and had to stay home for some months. People like me who are very prone to thd virus can't just go outside anymore unlike before the pandemic. Travelling to other country also became more complicated because of quarantine and vaccine requirements.

Indeed Covid-19 can be classified as a black swan because it wasn't predicted unlike other scenarios. The world hasn't really recovered from the impact of the virus, both economic, political and social.  Never in my years of existence have I witnessed such a situation, am not sure what happened in WWI and WW11 since I wasn't born yet, but with covid-19 emergence, the world witnessed a difficult time in human history, the whole world was literally shot down, it was a frightening period.
This Russian-Ukraine war now added to the already very fragile global economy. Honestly, these are terrible times we live in, hopefully, there will be some form of relief at some point.
It seems to me that covid has reminded people of how fragile we're again both in terms of global and isolated. That it would also mean some county are more resistant to the downturn of the economy. Enough for them to start pushing their agenda ahead of the needs of their people, ahead of the needs of thriving, doing business. This causes war and such for the gains of a few. Yes, I meant the Russia-Ukraine war might just happen because covid show Russia could possibly stand on their own against the US and nearly the whole world's sanction. With this trend, we might see more black swans and I think I understand why some worry China might pull the same thing with Taiwan, similar to the Russia-Ukraine war.
107  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🕹️ Esports 🎮 Prediction & Discussion Thread on: October 03, 2022, 06:22:33 AM
NA teams have a bias towards momentum, if they are halted in their game substantially money broke etc. it can be a good time to close out a bet even if they are still way ahead.    Doesnt have to be true of all them but they tend to lack the best IGL and discipline to their play, I hope Liquid prove me wrong as almost every team that has success has alot of anti strat work by other top teams bought in to bear against them so failures during a series are normal.  The game vs Vitality was very close, hope they resolve to do even better and learn from it.
That momentum build-up and carrying the game wasn't a thing in NA. It was mostly because of teams from American organizers or American individualism that allow star players to make surprise calls or plays. I remember SK Gaming in their era didn't have this momentum tho their players are from Brazil. Right now, with the influence of both EU and South American, NA teams are more likely to adopt that play style, prefer discipline over momentum build-up by the star players.

I also think only a few teams right now that play well under the pressure or stressful Bo5 games:
_Vitality, obvious cause they're all well-experienced players, has been thru a lot of big CSGO events.
_Navi, kinda sad cause with Bo3 or Bo1, they don't have enough time to show off this special talent.
_Faze, maybe, karrigan is a super igl and doesn't scare over a long period of the game, still don't know why Faze lost to Cloud9.
_Heroic, define the underdog mentality, can comeback no matter how bad their situation is.

Anyways, Liquid did their best honestly. I thought it would be a much faster game for Vitality, 3-1 if in map 3, Vitality end it without dragging to the OT.
108  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: October 02, 2022, 10:50:25 AM
Liverpool had fallen behind before 20 minutes into the game through two goals from Brighton's Leandro Trossard. However, Liverpool managed to come back with two goals from their striker Firmino and an own goal from Brighton's Adam Webster. Brighton who performed well at Anfield were able to equalize and have the right to bring home a point thanks to Trossard hattrick in the final 10 minutes of the match.

Jurgen Klopp must immediately move to improve Liverpool performance, this season there are many things Klopp needs to do because his team performs far from what is expected. The defense is very fragile, the midfield is not able to control the game and the front line is not as sharp as last season, Liverpool goal productivity has dropped dramatically this season. The draw that Liverpool just got made them stuck in ninth position in the standings with 10 points. While Brighton one point at Anfield leaves them in fourth place with 14 points.
Honestly Klopp has a lot of job to do in getting Liverpool out of this mess if they really aim to clinch a top 4 spot, else they will won't qualify for UCL, their records of 2 wins in 7 matches is absolutely unacceptable which is in sharp contrast with last season emphatic performance at this time last season they are unbeaten in the league, they will play in-form Arsenal next week another big huddle and challenge ahead of them, I think they missed the service of workaholic Mane in their attack since his departure Mo.Salah had struggled to score goals his combination with Nunez and Diaz had been fruitless.
I think Liverpool is not really doing well at the moment. They played at home but they failed to get full points, even their performance looks bad during the first half. Although they looked to have improved in the second half, but in the end, they failed to seal their win. Their current condition is very much different from last season, so I think they're having a slump and it will become a serious problem if they don't get a solution soon. There is one thing that makes me curious. Liverpool signed Darwin Nunez for a very high transfer fee, but somehow Jurgen Klopp prefers Firmino instead of Nunez.
Liverpool is trash now. Everyone already saw it from miles ahead at the start of this Premier League season. Klopp's plan for both Liverpool's offensive and defensive lineup is falling. Oh, don't worry about Nunez or have too much hope on him. Maybe with him, Liverpool might get a few goals back with Klopp's plan for Nunez at center-forward, a double pivot and Elliot roaming on the right.

But with full-back overlapping with Robertson and Trent, especially Trent with his poor attitude and irresponsible play leave a full hole for the enemy to exploit. Unless Klopp uses a different strategy on this lineup or replaces Trent, tough luck, Liverpool going to get more slap on the face like the match with Fulham.
109  Economy / Speculation / Re: Does anyone think it will be much harder to buy bitcoin later on down the road? on: October 02, 2022, 10:30:32 AM
Well yeah, I think I saw how the process of buying Bitcoin has slowly become more centralized and harder to get if you want to keep your identity unknown. Cause it's now concentrated in CEX exchanges which require mandatory KYC. Even some p2p local bitcoin equivalents require some KYC in countries where crypto was under regulation. You can definitely see the trend and where it heading so I think eventually, it'll be harder to buy Bitcoin anonymously at least.
110  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2022/23 on: October 02, 2022, 10:08:45 AM
~Snip~
1-0 for barcelona. As already predicted by so many people here. Mallorca will give barcelona a tough match. Mallorca is performing so well on that match but that's sad to see that if lewandoski was only making a goal. I guess he can make more if he was lucky enough with it.
That's not a problem caused by barcelona was getting full points against mallorca which is still on fire as well. Barcelona has been trying its best to make sure if was going back to the home with three points in hand
One goal is enough for Barcelona to get an additional three points from the headquarters of Mallorca. This match was not easy for Barcelona, even though Barcelona had the upper hand in possession but Mallorca gave a very good resistance and occasionally threatened Barcelona with a built attack. The victory that Barcelona just got took them to the top of the standings for a while, now Barcelona has collected 19 points from 7 matches. Barcelona position is not safe in the first position, because Real Madrid can still return to the top if they are able to beat Osasuna in the seventh match which will be played at Real Madrid headquarters.

Guess Barcelona is in a very tough spot now, trying to do the least in matches in Oct because they'll meet many tough opponents and they can't afford to lose their good players from the match with Mallorca. A 1-0 win is just enough to secure 3 points while keeping your players not spent for later matches is a good strategy from Xavi.

I say Barcelona haven't been safe yet as they also meet up with Real Madrid this month while there are also other matches from Champion League with tough opponents too. Barcelona will have to do the same in the match with Celta as they did with Mallorca. Take a win with the least amount of effort to save their top lineup in the match against Real Madrid later.
111  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Do you use crypto trading robots? on: October 02, 2022, 09:48:17 AM
Trading bots can be beneficial if you cannot manage your trades full-time and just need some autopiloting system that still follows your rules when it comes to decision-making. Be warned though that these trading bots, while they work and help you execute trades while you're away, can still commit some errors that can cause you money. You shouldn't rely on them 100% IMO. Trading bots aren't made for passive income, it's made to execute trades on your behalf following your line of thinking. It's still controlled by you, and the commands you issue will also be the things that it will do in order to satisfy the trade.
This is why most traders rather do manual trade. They ain't 100% believe in the bots to keep customers' information confidential. And you either set something wrong with the bots and lost money in your trade, or someone (bot dev) was able to get enough information on your to manipulate your trade to get profit from it. Basically, using the bot to trade has a risk of publicly announcing what you're going to do which puts off many traders.

Maybe bot trading is good for accumulating some altcoins, doing trade repetitively (limit on each order,...) enough that you don't care about it. Else, I don't see any use for it.

^^^ G2 is always crumbled under pressure. Didn't see why they were able to beat Navi but they show their true color when matching up with Vitality. Never brought in the G2 hooxi gigachad meme. Dude is a good igl, got some strats to counter the top-tier teams but that's it. Will never solve the G2's problem where players too easily choke and buckle under the pressure.

The final match of ESL between Vitality and Liquid seems poorly match up. Liquid surpassed everyone's expectation to get this far into the game, but I don't see they've any chance against Vitality here. This time bookies get the odd right, with Liquid at 2.9-3.0 and 1.3-1.4 for Vitality.
113  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA 2022 world cup on: October 02, 2022, 09:06:26 AM
Peak and consistent performance are going to vary by the quality of a team both their play and training will show through, hopefully we get a good range of games not erratic results so much from this new setting.    35c would seem to favor the southern or more exotic located teams over players who would not normally train or play in that range of temp.   35c to me isnt normal to be running around for 90 minutes or more, they can cope but how well and for how long I think is going to be natural bias.   15c I would be surprised if that happens but 25c is probably ok for all I guess.
   [FAHRENHEIT  59, 77, 95]
Mediterranean countries going to take the best for this temp. Teams that employ players from Africa also take benefit from it. France's national football team, for example, got a lot of players with African origin and they already have a good record so far thanks to that lineup. Latin America also does well in that temp condition. Overall, northern countries have to send their player to the oversea, in countries with similar to that temp, to stay and train over a long period of time to get their players to get used to that temp condition.
114  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2022/23 on: October 01, 2022, 10:53:22 AM
That's right. Barcelona has a litmus test this month. I expect them to arrive at the clásico more or less level with Real Madrid. They are now two points behind and I don't think that in the next two matchdays they will lose their games and Real Madrid will win both, although if they maintain that gap or even lose points to Madrid, they will have the added pressure of arriving at the clásico with a greater need to win and with the disadvantage of playing at Madrid's ground. For the sake of the spectacle I hope they play decently in the games this October.
There are 9 match waiting for Barcelona in October, and this schedule will leave the players really short of rest and physical recovery. So October is sure to be a grueling month for Barcelona and its players. Here's the full schedule in October:

Dam, so tightly packed. 9 matches are scheduled within one month. Definitely going to see some hipcup there in matches where the main lineup from the squad has to be benched cause of injury. Especially lot of big names in that list like Inter Milan, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich as well as others not easy to push like Valencia, Villarreal. If I was Xavi, have to priory here between Champion League matches and La Liga matches. Can't eat all the cakes for Barcelona here.
115  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Binance trading activity is 13x larger than any other exchange on: October 01, 2022, 10:37:15 AM
I think the main contributor to Binance had a huge lead in the trading volume over all other exchanges thanks to their main adamant about fake trading volume and washout trade. Binance has expressed many times they'll do anything to curb stomp things like that.
The amazing increasing trade volume on Binance is from their wise strategy to give away trading fee. With 0% trading fee, users have more reasons to trade and when they fall into the trap, trading volume increases organically and sustainably.

This increase recent months is also supported by recover of Bitcoin and crypto market in general. With less fear, people go trading more.
Let's not forget that people do have a tendency to go with the first one and do whatever they can with it. If you were asked to do a trade, would you do it on the exchange that is 1st and more than double the second, or would you prefer the second that has less than half of the trading volume?

This is just a question about first and second, when we consider third and fourth and all others, it's clear that being first means being the best most of the time and the main place people go to. Of course they weren't first at the start, and in order to get there they used both cheap trading fee, but also affiliate income as well, which gave them a huge boost at early days.
Yes, people would go to exchange they thought it was the best out there compared to the other. Unless there are some requirements that you don't meet or you don't trust that exchange, most will goes to the biggest, the top of all fish.
You see, others gave their opinions on my comment. Because Binance has low fees on trading pair or you, saying they're at the top cause they the top, famous because famous, that kind of thing I understand.

But all of you guys have to understand how Binance becomes the #1, the biggest fish out there? Remember Kraken? Bittrex? Poloniex? Why are none of them now at the #1, behind Binance despite they being from the old camp, well-established way before Binance start their business?
Even with the mandatory KYC, people still flock to Binance? Cause I said the fake trading volume and washout trade are the biggest concerns for traders and Binance knew this very well. They opt for their business along it and success, other things are just minor boosts.

What an interesting result we had at the end of the G2 - Natus Vincere matchup.

I don't underestimate G2 of course by saying this. They have improved their performance quite much after HooXi and jks started to adapt to the team. But they were still one step behind their opponent actually on paper. However they still managed to eliminate Natus Vincere by 2-1. I was also expecting a win for Natus Vincere on Mirage. But m0NESY played incredibly well by 28 kills and being the top fragger of the match. There was a duel between him and s1mple. He managed to be victorious in this rivalry. Natus Vincere were really bad on CT side even though this was a CT-sided map. G2 deserved this win for sure.

Now G2 - Vitality is like an early final in this tournament. The odds given to this matchup:

G2 seem quite the favourite interestingly. I think bookmakers are underestimating Vitality very much. Therefore I might take advantage of this 2.17 odd for Vitality to try my luck with them.
Interesting there. Bookies must have based their odds solely on the HLTV ranking where G2 is at #6 and Vitally at #10. And with the recently won over Navi #1, they must have thought that G2 is much stronger than Vitality. A handicapped bet on Vitality seems good to me. Might hold back to see how map 1 goes. How G2 and Vitality form is since they just play yesterday before making any of my bets.
117  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA 2022 world cup on: October 01, 2022, 09:37:45 AM
There is no doubt that Brazil is a country producing quality young players, there are many young players in their squad at the moment. But this is a World Cup where the quality of the players is not enough, they have to be mentally prepared for everything that will happen there. I hope this is not a problem for them, and the senior players on the team can provide motivation that can make the juniors more mentally and confident.

About the mentality to be prepared, I'd like to say something
If can pick any squad, Brazil, Argentina, Ecuador, Australia, Ghana etc, from South America to Asia, Africa included, all teams have players with experience playing in Europe.
Of course not all of them are playing in tier A teams like Real Madrid / Manchester City / Juventus etc, but they are in Europe playing among the best, and playing against the best, so the experience is not a problem anymore, in my opinion.

Some years ago it was incredible to see the playing differences against every kind of soccer techniques, like South Americans vs Europeans, or Europeans vs Africans, but today the difference is very hard to see, because players are playing the same championships, coaches are training the teams equally, and there's a lot of foreigners coaching and even playing for another countries.

You forgot South Korea and Japan there but I understand your points. Those countries might not have a lot of players in the A-tier league but they are still very good national teams to meet up with the World Cup level. The level difference is a small margin. I think thanks to the global nature of soccer has become, now the coach's teachings and training regiments can be received from country to country. Before it the EU and Latin America had the best chance to win a World Cup as it was completely their game. Now, this chance can also be seen in other zones, abit small but still there.
118  Economy / Economics / Re: 23 Countries Now Abandoning US Dollar on: October 01, 2022, 09:14:16 AM
"Now Abandoning US Dollar" is a wrong statement. They already did it any time the world's economy is in a rocky place. Although yeah, some countries did try to reduce their over-reliant on the USD use on trading or the petrodollar but all seems very small, insignificant to me. Call me when countries on this list below start to offload their US t-bond massively instead of hoarding it.

Basically, the world is in global mode where countries are indebted to each other. See Major Foreign Holders Of Treasury Securities from Department of the Treasury/Federal Reserve Board,
August 15, 2022. Not just you and your wife, as well as other Americans but many US allies like Japan, UK, France,... and even China, brought US bonds.

Most sensible take of all in this thread. Anyone who thinks the dominance of the USD can be replaced in a short amount of time, knows nothing about it.
119  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: October 01, 2022, 08:40:13 AM

We can get 3.05 odd in total in a multi betslip. I'm feeling pretty confident about all of these options. But if someone asked me which one of them I'm afraid of the most then I'd say Manchester City. Because Manchester United are having a really good form now and they have won two big games against Arsenal and Liverpool already. This makes me wonder how good defense they will have in this game. I just want to believe in especially Haaland to break them. It isn't easy for even the team having the best defense to keep Haaland away from their goal.
I was also going to talk about how I think Man City having some troubles against them, Man utd been on a good form lately and we already saw that Man City can draw against a weaker team and Man utd can win against a strong team, so I would also be skeptical about that bet, Arsenal and Tottenham both teams to score has higher odds than Man City to win but it seems easier to happen.
If you're confident on the Man City, find bets that "who's going to score the first goal" type. Right now, I say Man City has the best offense lineup among clubs in the Premier League with avg 3.29 scored per match. Way over any clubs in Premier League. Their defensive lineup is also fine, only at 0.86 conceded per match in the league so far. Yeah, Man City might get drawn in some matchs, lost even too. But I think with that Erling Haaland monster, Man City is easy to score and take a lead from any club.
