You're right, that contract is about as basic as they come. Did they just watch a youtube tutorial and copy it? ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif)

Bounty campaigns work based on your assistance in performing tasks to aid the ICO sale of course. This could be via retweets, likes and shares on fb, videos, images, blogs etc and you are typically rewarded in the tokens minted from the sale for your efforts.
It would be up to you to review the ICO (read the whitepaper for example) and down to you if you want to take part in it. You'll find that (typically) many people will be discussing the project and be willing to take part so have a look what others are saying about it.
What fazerockzx has said is the right way to do things.
Not all bounty campaigns have participation in signature or avatar campaigns but there are still a lot that do.
As for a scam ICO reflecting on you? Well you need to be diligent before joining and also during the campaign and take heed of other's opinions and your own thoughts on it. It would seem you're worried about negative trust here on bittcointalk which is a very valid concern but I would leave that answer up to others who know more than I do about it.
Some ICO's are labeled as scams by some users when they're not but ultimately, the decisions is yours.

My opinion is that the CryptoKittie craze has been very good for Ethereum. I've seen comments that the Ethereum network can't handle a large number of transactions but this is patently untrue.
Prior to the cats being let out of the bag, in one day about 10 days ago now, Ethereum processed over 500,000 transactions, more than half of ALL cryptocurrency transactions and the vast majority of those were at approx 12 seconds and for a very low gas price.
Since then, the number of transactions per day has been increasing up to almost 800,000, even with kitties and dwarfing transactions by all other currencies combined!
Yes, transaction times have increased as has the price of gas (which is extremely frustrating), but this is due to scaling which will be sorted out in due course with solutions coming on board, in fact some are already on the mainnet.
We have Plasma, Raiden and in particular, Sharding, to look forward to which will not only bring transaction times back down again, but also GAS fees.
The crypto world has never seen the like of kitties before and even CryptoKitties themselves never expected such a reaction to their project, it's unprecedented but actually works and is continuing to do so.
This can only bode well for the future as we are now aware of the issues at a very early stage in the Ethereum network development and development of solutions will now be at the forefront of developers minds.
Rather than be disheartened this is positive I believe.

As Alt Coins are alternative currencies (alternative to Bitcoin) and most ICO's issue ERC 20 tokens (based on Ether) , which are your favourite tokens that you own or would like to (if not at ICO sale completion as yet) ?
What functions do they give, if any? Do you hold them purely for speculative gains? If they're required for use on a platform, will you use them on that platform or are you looking to hold and sell once that platform becomes bigger?
I currently own some DICE which are dividend tokens and have already distributed profits to token owners and are not needed on their dapp.

There are some very promising alt coins out there, such as OMG. Some indeed will prove to be worthless as although the ICO may be a good idea, adoption in the real world will not happen as planned and the value could sink to zero.
Other alt coins which tap in to traditional markets which are already very profitable in the real world will have a very good chance to succeed and grow very large on the Ethereum block chain, once network issues are solved and there is more adoption of the technology. Alt coins /tokens offering profit shares/rewards, these are more interesting.
It's good to have potential alts, but make syre to have those included on top 10 alts, thus it will give a big opportunity for us in the future since they can last for long, but still keep on searching new alts Honestly and in fact there are only a hundred potential Cyrptocurrencies that are going to have the potential to be the official altcoins in the world out of a thousand and a half existing ICOs and currencies. Most of them couldn't make it into success due to lack of skilled developers and management staff that support and sustain the competition. Well OMG is an ERC20 compliant token which runs on top of Eth and all erc20 tokens do. Some will increase in value in line with the business that created them and others will increase due to the profit share that they offer. It's these that interest me. One I own is DICE and we are adopting the same profit share in our upcoming ICO.

You should consider real world uses and if they are viable. You also need to bear in mind human nature. By that i mean that all new technologies, be it photography and cinema in the late 1890's and the internet via www almost 100 years later, always draw in people from a couple of industries in particular, namely Sex and Gambling. People, by nature of course, have a huge interest in sex and people can monetize that. It's also true of gambling, though that came along a lot later after the introduction of WWW due to technological limitations at the time. We have just started our MyOddz.bet ICO campaign, and if you feel so inclined, you can see our ANN post Here

Etheroll was a very good ICO, are making a profit and have already returned profits to their DICE token holders. The cryptokittie craze has slowed the network down so bets aren't able to be placed and resolved as quickly as before. That may be out of their control but they have refined their smart contract to reduce GAS fees which is very promising.

for sure, don't put all your ETH in to ICO's but do have read and discover for yourself. there are many which are scams I'm sure, but there are many which are genuine and do have a good business plan and great intentions to reward investors. ICO's have changed the world of investment and are very different from IPO's in the real world. Some will succeed ( and we believe ours is one), others will struggle and some will fail. I've seen some who have wild business/profit expectations from what is after all, a relatively brand new technology.

well at present there's not too many dapps running on the network, it's mainly transactions between accounts sending eth. i think its a great idea and has been executed very well indeed.
it's brought to the forefront the need for upscaling the network asap but these plans are already in the making with upgrades to the network coming soon.

Thanks for your question. We considered very hard about bonuses but felt, especially after the recent comments by Vitalik Buterin, the creator of Ethereum, that that wasn't a model we wanted to follow. " As Vitalik Buterin, co-founder of Ethereum and co-founder of Bitcoin Magazine, has put it: “If an ICO does volume bonuses (“buy at least $50000 of coins, get 20% more”) then they don’t understand the first thing about the egalitarian spirit of crypto (or at least, the egalitarian spirit that I believe crypto should have). Skip them.”" http://www.newsbtc.com/2017/11/23/generous-ico-bonuses-may-indicate-scam/We feel our product and branding will be very strong in the market and expect our ICO to be quite popular. The whitelist will give you early access to tokens, allowing you to purchase as many as you would like with no upper limit (but a 1 eth min purchase amount), so it's entirely possible that there will be few left when we open the ICO up for general sale. We also offer a very large % profit share each quarter and our sole aim is to return eth to our investors, via our profits as soon as possible and to make as much as we can to give back to ODDZ token holders each and every quarter. We are very much in this to launch a fantastic product and brand and to maximise returns for our investors as soon as possible!
