101  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [BTC2] Bitcoin 2, BTC Fork 1:1, PoS 🔥 Anonymous ⚡️Instant TX on: December 08, 2020, 11:17:11 PM
I remember checking this thread back in 2018. I am pleasantly surprised that there has been actual development and that the coin is even on coinmarketcap and seems to be listed on some exchanges. Don't get me wrong, a lot of Bitcoin forks promise things and don't deliver at all. Do you guys have any faucets or anything like that?

Damn, the people who have consistently used this faucet since 2013 are probably millionaires by now. And to see some of the comments (since the thread is also that old) saying that it "might" be worth their time is hilarious in hindsight.
103  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FOOTBALL: UEFA Champions League 2020/21 Season on: December 08, 2020, 10:58:51 PM
Here are the fixtures for the UEFA Champions League games taking place this evening on 8th December 2020:

Lazio vs Club Brugge

Zenit St. Petersburg vs Borussia Dortmund

Barcelona vs Juventus

Chelsea vs Krasnodar

Dynamo Kiev vs Ferencvaros

Paris Saint-Germain vs Istanbul Buyuksehir

RB Leipzig vs Manchester United

Rennes vs Sevilla

Here are my opinions  Grin

Lazio 2-0 Club Brugge

Zenit St. Petersburg 1-2 Borussia Dortmund

Barcelona 2-2 Juventus

Chelsea 1-1 Krasnodar

Dynamo Kiev 1-0 Ferencvaros

Paris Saint-Germain 2-1 Istanbul Buyuksehir

RB Leipzig 1-2 Manchester United

Rennes 0-2 Sevilla
Dude, you got Zenit - Dortmund, Chelsea - Krasnodar, and Dynamo - Ferencvaros exactly correct with the score and everything! Either you watch too much Champions League or you've got a gift  Cheesy
Barcelona - Juventus was good and also the only thing I betted on from all these fixtures.
104  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FOOTBALL: UEFA Champions League 2020/21 Season on: December 08, 2020, 01:32:45 AM
Cristiano Ronaldo has amazingly just scored his 750th career goal. The man has proved himself to be among the greatest to ever play the game, let us not forget he was a serial winner at Manchester United, Real Madrid and now at Juventus where they have qualified to go on to the knock out stages.

Yesterday Juventus won without too many difficulties, despite the several wrong chances they had. This round is not too complicated, no particular surprises. The goalkeeper made some mistakes but all in all it went well. Meanwhile Ronaldo has reached an important achievement in his career. We hope he can add many more goals to his collection.
Ronaldo is an unstoppable goal machine. A lot of times he is the person who is pushing Juventus to win, especially this season (the results in Serie A when he doesn't play speak for themselves). I am looking forward to the Barcelona - Juventus match, another Messi - Ronaldo showdown. Let's hope it will be interesting.

106  Economy / Speculation / Re: Cause of the recent price spike on: December 08, 2020, 12:45:04 AM
Well, it has stayed at 18-19k for weeks now. It's certainly nice to see Bitcoin at 2017's levels. As for the reason, like others said it may be PayPal. I believe that Paypal actually kickstarted Bitcoin's rise but I'm not so sure that it's stayed this high just because of that, there must be other factors involved or the hype from PayPal allowing cryptocurrencies on their service would have faded by now.
107  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I was fucked, do not repeat same mistakes as me on: December 07, 2020, 11:26:27 PM
Oof, thankfully that story had a good ending. If you have a place that you know is safe, I'd recommend making some paper copies. And also, don't make such a complicated security layer that you end up getting tangled in it if one thing goes wrong. I know, you can never be too safe with these things but as you saw it may be possibly just as damaging to end up trapping yourself in it.

Check the beginners section. There is some good stuff in there about everything you need to know as a newbie, including the merit system. If you do your reading there's no reason why you can't earn some merit once you improve your posts.
109  Other / Serious discussion / Re: Is Trump leading the Anti-Bitcoin crowd? on: October 24, 2020, 04:30:36 PM
Bitcoin is doing very well lately.  How long till they attack it again with legislation or otherwise?  Especially if Trump is reelected.
I think the two candidates will be focusing on the most important issues now that we're so close to Election Day. Bitcoin is really not considered a top issue at the moment but I suspect that its price will be affected by the outcome of the election, just like the stock market will be affected. Also, I think that neither candidate views Bitcoin as something positive. It is, after all, a way for people to conduct payments that can't be controlled by any government.
110  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why didn't PayPal decided to use xrp than Bitcoin? on: October 22, 2020, 08:05:29 PM
Sounds to me like you might be a little biased because you've been a long-time holder. The truth is that Bitcoin is more appealing than Ripple for many reasons, a lot of which have already been explained to you by other members. However, the way I see it, nothing is preventing PayPal from making a decision to add it in the future if there is a demand for it.

114  Other / Politics & Society / Re: USA PRESIDENTIAL ELECTIONS 2020: Michael Moore says Trump on course to win ! on: October 16, 2020, 12:08:02 AM
How did you conclude he has an 80% chance of re-election? Did you get that information online? I ask because every single poll froma  reputable source is showing Trump will lose the election.

Many people believe that Trump is will not win the election, but if you look a the scene he has the balls on his hands to play, he is a very smart man and a hardcore businessman that will do almost everything to success. I see him with 80% chances of winning again. History repeats itself.

Yeah that prediction is literally straight out of his ass. I understand that MANY people are saying 'well the polls were wrong for Brexit, and the polls were wrong in 2016, so the polls still don't matter' - I personally just don't think that line of thinking is going to be true.

You'd think that pollsters would be more cautious and learn from their mistakes in 2016 to ensure that it won't happen again. Cause if they failed AGAIN then we'd never even look at a poll as meaning anything. Plus, this isn't like one poll saying that Trump is going to lose -- it's tons of polls in aggregate. Also they're not just national polls, they're state polls from states that Trump needs to win to win the EC.

I'll agree with you in saying that Trump may be able to pull this around, though I wouldn't just randomly spit out numbers and say that is the chance that Trump wins without any backing.
Polls have limited accuracy, they predict people's intention to vote but they predict it at the moment the question is posed. Not only that, but also based on the outcome of a poll, people's intetion to vote changes, therefore, polls may affect the outcome of the elections. Right now, Trump is losing badly in the polls so what will the Trump supporters do? They will make sure they won't miss out on voting, and some of the Democrats may relax and consider to skip voting, especially if they plan on doing it in the last minute and come across some long lines.

guys help me also to become member ,i am new here
This is the absolute wrong way to gain merit, you know. Improve your posts, I checked them and they're not worth to be given merit. Improve your English, I know it sounds harsh but you'll have to do it if you want to make a quality post in English. Otherwise, you'll have to post in your native language under the correct forum section, if such a section exists. Learn from the OP, they didn't get to be Full Member overnight.
116  Other / Meta / Re: 2020 Crazy year for the world. Crazy year for bitcointalk. on: October 15, 2020, 11:34:19 PM
Yeah, it's really surprising to find out about certain ingredients being in products that you've never thought of. Most people don't realize it until they or someone close to them develops an intolerance or a strong allergy to something and then they have to check the ingredients all the time in every product (speaking from personal experience).

2020 is a crazy time. I was absent too from crypto for a big part of it and I'm trying to come back and become more engaged with bitcointalk. I missed quite a few things. For example, I just found out all that stuff about Craig Steven Wright from you right now  Cheesy
117  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why support TRUMP on: October 11, 2020, 10:26:49 PM
Speaking as a non-American who is not that close to the everyday issues US citizens face aside from what my US friends tell me and the things I learn as I try to stay informed, I have to say that your president is a joke. There's no respect for Trump overseas and every time he opens his mouth and speaks I expect a laugh track to follow, like on your American tv sitcoms, because the things he says are ludicrous. And his absolute disregard for human life, any human life besides his own, is a very telling example of what kind of a person he is. Politicians are at the very least expected to pretend to care about citizens' problems, Trump can't even fake that, so it's quite surprising that he has managed to fool that many people into voting for him. Even now and after multiple failures to handle multiple situations during his presidency, his polling numbers are not as low as they would be in other countries.

The reason for Trump being disliked overseas has to do with the fact that Trump is gradually withdrawing the USA from international affairs. Why should we continue to support other countries... or the idea of a one-world government? You jokers can take care of yourselves. Let America become strong to herself again.

So, it is easy to see why you jokers might be upset. Trump is taking your American gravy train away from you.

Cool
Hm, yes, you're right, the handling of the absolute worst health crisis in the absolutely worst manner by Trump proves exactly what you said. Let me rephrase, because you seem to have misunderstood: I've seen no one afraid that the US is trying (emphasis on trying) to distance themselves from international affairs. People are laughing at him and everything that comes out of his mouth .....
Euro-asshats had exactly the same attitude toward Bush Jr.

And toward Reagan.
No, sorry, Trump makes everyone look like a legitimate politician with a legitimate interest toward the American people by comparison. This is a new low for US politics and history will be able to confirm that. Or at least you better hope that history will be able to confirm it and you guys don't wake up one day in an AU from The Man in the High Castle with Trump forcefully getting one too many terms and abolishing democracy.
118  Other / Serious discussion / Re: Is Trump leading the Anti-Bitcoin crowd? on: October 10, 2020, 11:16:03 PM
Trump is only a fan of something that would benefit him personally. If he sees a chance to profit from Bitcoin, you will see him singing Bitcoin's praises. Until that happens, he will be firmly against it. As he is currently the president of the United States, he can't exactly invest in Bitcoin so he is against it.
119  Other / Meta / Re: Duplicate of Bitcointalk on: October 10, 2020, 11:05:38 PM
So, is it a phishing site or are they trying to replicate the success of bitcointalk? I wouldn't trust it at all and I hope people don't get tricked and try to log in using the same username and pass they use for bitcointalk.

If you are so afraid of it, go to "C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc" and create a new line in your hosts file (assuming you are using windows) and paste down this line:

Code:
127.0.0.1 www.bitcointalksearch.org

and save.

From now on, you won't be able to reach this website even if you clicked its link by mistake.

I wouldn't say I'm afraid of it but I am worried for newbies falling into scams and i'm also curious about the purpose of it. However, this tip can be proven useful in the future, so thanks for that.

Despite what you may think, you're not alone. There are people on the other side of the planet who are worried about you guys having a madman as a leader in a time where you should have a calm, rational presence who would at least try to keep you safe. For some reason you took my comments for Trump as a personal attack to you and I can't figure out why. I have no personal beef with the US as a nation.
