101  Other / Beginners & Help / Why are people on forums so mean and harsh? on: February 08, 2018, 12:02:08 PM
I am a new member. I came to bitcointalk because someone referred me here. As I have been reading posts and commenting. I have noticed a general attitude especially by the more senior members of the community. There is a lot of hostility going on and I don't know why. You are leaders of the community and that means you should guide newbies gently. Allow them time to grow, and most importantly, allow them to be the babies that they are, to make mistakes and learn from them.

You were once newbies also, you also made mistakes and you probably still do. Why are you being so harsh, there is a lot of information to learn on this platform and it's hard to know everything in the first month. Yes, there are a lot of stupid people who have bad intentions or whose motives are misplaced. But please don't paint everyone with the same color. Some people are lazy by nature, they will ask questions instead of doing research, but be kind to them and educate them in a gentle way.

I see people being labeled bad because they joined a sig campaign or because they are motivated by money. Why not educate the people how to go about their business on this platform and please do it gently. I know a lot of you will hate me for this post but why?

If you are a senior member and you agree with me, show your support. We need to eliminate hostility, spamming, hate, plagiarism, meanness and all the bad from this platform. We are a community of people from different countries, cultures, and backgrounds. We need to tolerate one another and live in harmony, peace, and abundance.
102  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: If you have joined Bitcointalk to make money on: February 08, 2018, 11:44:34 AM
If you have joined Bitcointalk to make money by posting, you have come to the wrong place. The purpose of Bitcointalk is not for making money. It is for discussion.

This site is not designed to help you make money. In fact, the limits on signatures and the new merit system are designed to make it more difficult for you to make money.

If you are looking for a site that pays you to write, I suggest trying out SteemIt:

Here are some excerpts from the Welcome page:

Quote
Come for the rewards. Stay for the community.

Quote
It is possible to earn thousands of dollars, but most authors who are doing this have put in a lot of time and work to contribute to the community and build followings.

Quote
Payouts are made 7 days after the post/comment is created. You can claim your rewards in your wallet after 7 days.
The payments may fluctuate (up and down) until the final payment is reached.
Payments for posts are split between the author (at least 75%) and the curators (up to 25%).
The author reward is paid 50% in Steem Power, and 50% in liquid STEEM/SBD.
Authors also have the option to decline payout, or be paid in 100% Steem Power!

It's true that this platform was not designed to make money. This, however, does not mean people are not making money through the platform. There is nothing wrong with making money while discussing. You might have decided that you don't like bounty campaigns and sig campaigns that's ok, but some people are making money by doing exactly that and you should be happy for them. If making money on this platform was a crime, then it should be banned altogether.
What you should be doing is finding ways to motivate people to write valuable content and making meaningful comments. The money is bringing in new people and the community is growing and I don't see anything wrong with that. There are a lot of terrible things going on here that are worse than sig campaigns. You don't have to be a hater. Embrace change. Be happy for others. Yes promote quality over content, but bounties are not a crime.  You could be very happy if you tried it maybe. Or maybe you have a lot of money already, good for you. Some of us are doing whatever it takes to make a living. If it means joining signature campaigns then so be it. It's democracy. People should be encouraged to post quality, but should not be sanctioned for trying to earn money while they at it. I don't condone spamming but please who doesn't want easy money?
103  Other / Meta / Re: How to gain merits? on: February 08, 2018, 11:18:01 AM
If you create a good thread or post that provides a good answer that many people find helpful, somebody may or will give you Merits as a reward for your helpful information. So, the better your posts are, the higher chances that you will receive Merit points from others.

Thank you Dear.
I will try best to help anyone what I known.
I feel preety good to say your replies, If there really chance to gain merits I will try to gives best.
 Wink

Congrats. I see you are a newbie and you already have a few merits. This means you are doing things right. Perhaps you can share your journey with others and earn even more while helping the newcomers. I'm a Jr member, I have 0 merits. I don't know what I'm doing wrong but I will keep improving till someone notices. It just gets harder now to post unique content when there are so many posts already. Starting a thread that is already there seems to be a bad thing so it's much harder for us than it was for the others in the beginning. Never give up. Keep going. Merits will come.

105  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Alt coins are in red again ?? on: February 07, 2018, 11:37:47 AM
To this day back green. But still in low numbers. which I see now increases 32.5%. Hopefully, a good start to Altcoin and continue in the green state until it reaches the highest market price.

It's nice to see some green finally I hope things will start to go positive from here. Of course it's crypto, there is no guarantee. News can cause serious damage or vice versa
106  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Bounties (Altcoins) / Re: [BOUNTY] [LYM] LYMPO - OFFICIAL BOUNTY THREAD [OVER] on: February 07, 2018, 10:20:23 AM
I wrote a large article with more than 10k characters but I only received 150LYM what happened to the rest of the LYMs that I was supposed to receive? I was rewarded the same LYM as someone who reposted an article. I took 3 days writing that article to make sure I earned as much as possible and this is all I get? 150, what kind of criterion did you use to award the campaign?
107  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Bounties (Altcoins) / Re: [BOUNTY] [LYM] LYMPO - OFFICIAL BOUNTY THREAD [OVER] on: February 07, 2018, 10:08:37 AM
Is the bounty over yet? How do we know if our entries were accepted? I wrote an article but I don't see a link to a spreadsheet with the stakes or tokens.

I have one question. When MMM was doing its rounds in Russia then China then Africa, people lost lots of money because it was not sustainable and it depended on people joining the platform and bringing in money. This is a classic ponzi definition. What is the difference with this current project? is it that it now has a coin? will it not collapse in the end like bitconnect? They also had a coin but collapsed. Please clarify to clear the questions that will prevent a lot of people from wanting to get involved.
111  Other / Meta / Re: Attention !!! Fake site https://bitcointalk.to - REAL https://bitcointalk.org!! on: January 29, 2018, 10:54:58 PM
Attention !!!

Fake  site https://bitcointalk.to
REAL        https://bitcointalk.org

It looks absolutely identical !

I suppose you can fall for that one only when you visit the site for the first time. If you are already registered most browsers these days will autofill for you and you don't even have to type the whole thing so chances of landing on an unintended site are very slim unless if you don't log into your browser account.

Wow so I can play CPU-Wars with my array of 1080 GPU's with it's liquid cooled over clocked
chip and win a prize if my rig guesses the number of grains in the bucket of sand first.

I love this old game so my only question is if it's so profitable then why are you not doing it
yourself and now see the need to rent out the equipment  Roll Eyes

Hey boss, got this software that works fine but it's based on how hot the CPU gets so can i have
that pay-rise please

Hilarious. I bet he has never done any mining in his life.
113  Economy / Goods / Re: I will buy anything you own in exchange for Crypto on: January 29, 2018, 10:32:13 PM
I would like to introduce my website http://junktion.io we buy anything in exchange for crpytocurrency.

Similar to a pawn shop buying your items outright in exchange for cash, we do the same but with the crpytocurrency of your choice.

We will buy anything you own in exchange for BTC, ETH, XLM,XRP, or any coins avaiable on binance or bittrex.

Why did I create this website?

I created this website because I used to invest in lego sets and sealed action figures as well as other items throughout the years. I loved doing this and had a passion for doing so like many others. This proved to be a decent investment until I learned about crpyto. As an investor I saw everything around me was worth something. All I wanted to do was turn everything around me into cryptocurrency, so I created that service myself.
Junktion gives people the opportunity to turn random household items into crpytocurrency.

What do we buy?

We buy just about anything electronic or worth something. We will agree upon a price in a private conversation

We are based in the united states, New jersey to be specific.

If you have any comments questions or concerns about the service and how it works please feel free to send me an email info@junktion.io or comment here.
In order for me to buy your item you must fill out the form on the site.
Is this only for US residents?
114  Other / Meta / Re: List of Accounts which Needs a Ban [ICO pumping accounts] on: January 29, 2018, 10:30:18 PM
Some of them are blatantly copy-pasting the same sentence in various threads and some of them like this guy here have been doing it for a month with no ban. I wonder why nobody has reported this before you.

I guess most people do not really care much or do not have that much time on their hands to bother.
115  Economy / Goods / Re: Prevention is better than a cure. Please escrow. on: January 29, 2018, 09:15:55 PM
In these times of Mass scammers out there, I urge people to use an escrow. There are many good members out there willing to help to secure the bitcoin community, There are also more people willing to do anything to scam you out of your coins, Please just do your research on someone before you part with your hard earned coins.

An escrow list - updated 11/17

Note to mod, I know this is in the wrong section as I am not selling anything, I feel we all need to be wiser, People in the selling forums are less likely to look elsewhere for information on what this is and how it is acheved,
Even if a few people read this and use escrow, Or a few scammers don't get their coins, I will consider this a good job.
Please consider not moveing out the way, This needs to be addressed.

** jan 16

There is a new wave of possible scammers, People who buy up legendary accounts and trade untill they have large sum of money then run, This has been done with a very trusted account recently.

Please be cautious, I am trying to set up a 3 way secure key escrow for my personal escrows to add peace of mind.

I would like to point out, that I do not partake in escrowing forum accounts, I never have and never will, in fact its against the rules on my forum, This is a trust based commodity as it stands, if we keep moving the goal posts as well as the stadium, no one can be accountable for theft!

Keep safe people, dont give up, trust in BTC, suspect people :-)

** April 17

please watch out for fake accounts made to look like hero/legendary escrow accounts, check the join date and the letters of the name exatly! some use numerical 0 instead of alphabetical O, and please watch out for sold accounts! this forum allows selling of any account, so make it difficult to know who's still real, I do not allow selling of accounts on my forum  Roll Eyes

How do people buy memberships?
116  Other / Meta / Re: Forum ranks/positions/badges (What do those shiny coins under my name mean?) on: January 29, 2018, 09:13:30 PM
So, for a newbie to become Member, it will take at least 5 weeks.  Am I correct?
I think it will take 30 days of daily activity. I stand to be corrected.
117  Other / Meta / Re: Forum ranks/positions/badges (What do those shiny coins under my name mean?) on: January 29, 2018, 08:50:04 PM
The bitcoins required for Donator and VIP are still the same? The price of bitcoin is now too high for anyone to donate 50BTC.
