Anyone got tracking numbers today?

https://www.kncminer.com/news

Check that url regularly. There is an update listing in the newsletter of Oct 5. It says that tracking numbers go out at 14:30 pm CET time if you are lucky.

It's fine. Maybe your PSU will die, but you can just get another. It's not going to break your miner. 850W is more than enough.

I got this one for my Jupiter: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004P1IWZU/ref=oh_details_o04_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
but I admit it's probably a little bit of overkill.

Why would his PSU "die" when yours wouldn't? I have a PSU in every company, and that qualifies me as the expert. You cannot just say something will die maybe unless you have proof. Again, I have every PSU ever made.

I wasn't. I just went with their recommendation. I would have spent more money if I thought it was needed. Thoughts on this?

anything Corsair is good.
104  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: October 07, 2013, 03:13:14 PM
why you want to use cheap PSU with device, which cost thousands of dollars and any failure of PSU cost more, then PSU itself?

ok tell me good psu

Seasonic or Corsair, gold or platinum

For mercury, saturn, or jupiter?

Trust my recommended psu rather than that other guys.

mine gets a 9.6 on techowerup review and his gets a 9.1

to prevent fire, i think i should have the casing off and put a big fan on it. what do you think? casing on or off?

and should you use .93 or .90 firmware?
106  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: October 07, 2013, 09:57:02 AM
fires? I've only heard of the one burnt component ie flash/smoke is all....anyway just heard of the 1 board issue I  think?

with a metal case and the cover on away from clutter I'd suspect most of us will be fine imho..now a case less/open unit not so sure?

Searing

Wouldn't an open case be better for heat if not also airflow? I think I should open my case and put a big fan running on it
107  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: October 07, 2013, 09:40:27 AM
Are any of you running extra fans on yours? some of the components could burn and catch on fire according to people. We have to figure out how to prevent this.It looks like only the controller board, so maybe we each should run extra fans on them if not the whole unit. Please speak your mind as to how you can prevent this for your miner - like extra fans or what? Is there a heatsink that I could put on top of the components or what?

Hashfast said they will ship in November. I emailed them and they said at around November 30th. Megabigpower said they will ship in October. I talked to them and they said at around October 30th. Cointerra says they will ship in December, but they mean at the end of December. KNCMiner said they will ship in September, and they started shipping on the 30th of September. KNC has been on track with their shipping. it is just that people dont know how to read between the lines.

I think that the more you post more in this trend, then you might get your mining hardware sooner. Keep it up guys! You are well on your way towards getting your hardware sooner than the rest of us.

113  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: October 02, 2013, 06:22:47 PM
Both my orders are around ~2000, Paid for around Jun 13 and June 17.  What day or week do you think I will get mine?
114  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: October 02, 2013, 04:17:05 PM
Bitcoinorama you work for kncminer as a PR guy or what is your function there? And have you always worked for them since the start of this topic message?
115  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: October 02, 2013, 10:13:03 AM

So I guess we will have to relax and keep an eye on our email inbox.

How do you relax if your eye is kept on your email inbox the whole day?
116  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: October 01, 2013, 12:57:57 PM
And what about the 5V connector.

Should I buy a 230V to 5V DC converter?

yeah there's a lot of think that has to be sorted out imho, let me summarize my own list:

- Is a 850W PSU really enough for a Jupiter? (in the 'orama video (1) I saw the power consumption at wall was 843W)
- Do we need a 5V connector?
- What is the delivery ETA for day 1? Or looking at it in another way how long does it take to do the last tweaking to the machine?

You can later buy a second psu to power units if need be. 850 w /. 85 efficiency psu = can handle a wall draw of 1k watts.
117  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [OPEN] [GROUP BUY] Hashfast Babyjet 1.09 btc = 2.5%, serraz ESCROW. Only 20 left on: September 02, 2013, 10:57:17 PM
Okay, I have the escrow bitcoin address wallet from serraz. It is 17EqnQZtfDQYKGdPesPKRzg9pQp76tzLvs . That is his separate offline wallet address because blockchain.info wallets are not safe right now. After you buy a share by making payment, send me an encrypted message or email telling me that you paid for certain amount of shares. I made an agreement with him that there will be .02btc going to him per share. He will refund the whole entire BTC1.09 if the groupbuy fails. However, I told him he could keep an additional .4btc that I am paying out of my pocket and separate from that for his escrow handling troubles. There are only 19 out of 40 shares left to be sold before we can buy the Babyjet.

ur0pl please do this properly. It is not in your or our interest to do things like this. I thought you are going to get a hero member (not necessarily John K.) as an escrow, but if serraz is your choice it is OK with me.

1) It is not right that you post (unsigned) payment address instead of the escrow.

2) Neither you or him have stated that you have sent him your passport scan with full personal details, and that he may post that here in case of any dispute. Edit: sending him your photo holding the passport will also be a good idea.

3) Neither you or him have stated refund policy, i.e.: "Refunds will be given immediately at any time before payment to HashFast is completed without the need for group buyer to explain the reasons for it."

This is an example of usual escrow statement in a group buy topic:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=238321.msg2532445#msg2532445
It has not have to be done to the point as John K. does, but would not hurt either. Please correct these formalities so we can proceed further. Thanks.

I'll quote your opening post in the next message for the reference.

As a side note:

We are sure to get enough ROI with bitcoin prices up so high recently.
ROI has nothing to do with BTC price, we invest BTC - we get back BTC, if it goes to 1.000US$ or goes back to 10US$ has nothing to do with it if we will profit or not.

I'm sorry. I just was unfamiliar with how to do things as this was my first group buy attempt. Unfortunately Hashfast has just today sold out of their Babyjet. I am sorry about the disappointment. I guess I started the group buy too late and should have started when they first opened shares

Can we get serraz to confirm that he owns this bitcoin wallet address?

I'm looking forward to being a part of the this group buy.
Cheers

Sure. That is a good idea. I will ask him when he wakes up. I talk to him frequently on freenode and know him from there, so that is why he was okay to do this escrow. He lives in Australia, so it will be another 4-6 hours from now until he wakes up.

I will install a webcam for the mining unit. Los Angeles electricity rate comes at the bargain price of around .18-.20 cent per Kilowatt an hour. It happens in "Tiers" whereas the lowest tier is charged like .16 cents, and the highest Tier after you use all the lower and middle tier allowance is around .22 cents. I will be working to try to get a low income electricity plan in about a month or two, but even at that price of 15%-20% off, it would be around .16-.17cents on average per Kilowatt per hour. However, yes, I will install a webcam to compete with those other hosting places.
