Pat Cummins made almost impossible things happen, took KKR so close to victory. It was a good game of cricket, reaching 200 after 31/5 is some kind of super effort. At some point it seems that Cummins make the day for KKR, unfortunately he missed it. I was literary expecting for KKR win. For sure, great watch.
If the target was 10 runs lower, then Cummins would have actually won the game for the KKR. Also he received zero support from the no.10 and no.11 batsmen. When someone is striking the ball so hard and the required run rate is 15-20 runs per over, the least that the tail enders can do is to support the striker by running hard. Both Varun Chakravarthy and Prasidh Krishna failed in this aspect. Their running was very poor and it put additional pressure on Pat Cummins. Don't blame the tailenders when the top 5 batsmen can't able to do anything as well, And the run out of Varun Chakravarthy was actually a sacrifice by him because there is no second run on that ball because the ball went straight to the fielder and just to get the Pat on the striking end he throw away his wicket. And first ball of the last over, there is no second run needed as well because he got the ability and striking the balls over fence then why he took the risk of running between wickets? He also got the part in that mistake but he took the innings too deep which is the great thing about in it. |

The top order batsman are fully responsible for this. All of the top five batsman showed extremely poor performance today. Andre Russell was really disappointed with his out. Dhawan again played the leading role while Lalit Yadav scored according to the run rate and finally hetmeyr relieved the pressure with two boundaries.
Everyone else played well, but I don't agree with the role played by Lalit Yadav. He made 22 from 25 balls and created a lot of pressure on DC due to his slow batting. On the other hand, Steve Smith batted sensibly and made 33 from 29 balls. But when I look at the commentary on this match, a lot of people are not happy with Smith's performance and at the same time they are praising Yadav. Even Shikhar Dhawan had a lower strike rate when compared to Smith, and that shows that the pitch was difficult to bat on. Don't forget that MI defended similar scores by taking quick wickets in the death overs so I will give credits to the Yadav as well for holding his wickets when best bowlers of crickets attacking from all the ends and there is no need to score big shots when the required run rate is just run a ball. But generally, Lalit Yadav has the reputation of being destructive in the death overs so we may see such kind of actions when it is required for the team. |

This season the performance from KKR isn't to the expected level. Every match is getting hard and the early wins are the one that give hand at the final levels of getting into the playoff. RCB from the beginning seems to be dominant with its players having some form of fullest game. If one isn't performing well the next one takes responsibility. Even in today's innings after the early wickets the middle order made a good partnership and took the score to 204. Such a game should be followed by KKR.
Everything depends on the performance of the key players. For the KKR, the middle order has failed so far. Eoin Morgan and Andre Russell failed to get the runs (although Russell seems to be in good form in this match). Also, their pace bowlers are not taking wickets when they need them. On the other hand, almost all the key players are performing for the RCB - including Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers, Kyle Jamieson, Glenn Maxwell, Harshal Patel.etc. RCB won the match by 38 runs and retain their 1st position on the points table, its very surprising to see Maxwell is scoring like this. Exactly the same I was going to say. Warner's run-out is total bullshit as there was literally no need for that run while the ball didn't get hit too hard by the batsmen. Now the run-rate on the batting side is slowed down by bowlers and now it's not going to be so easy as I was iterating before.
