101  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Quick Privacy-Centered Transaction Platform on: April 22, 2019, 06:27:29 PM
Legendary cypherpunk David Chaum shared his new project at paris blockchain week and although it's still in beta it's looking quite promising. Utilizing his creation of mix networks Elixxir looks to challenge Wechat and Venmo.

I've never really viewed life like this which is really interesting. i agree with you that job and stress plays a huge factor in sickness later on in life. but honestly it's a multitude of things... our food. air. the planet. we are the cause of all the sickness.
103  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Wow! Exchanges track how you spend btc! on: April 22, 2019, 06:09:53 PM
Exchanges are required by law to know their customers also known as kyc they have to know your ID and name and address technically from a legal standpoint in order to operate legally, but there are still some exchanges which do not require this for some reason.

From the exchange's perspective it was a wise decision for both legal precautions and protecting their other customers. Firms like CipherTrace are set in place to help with money laundering and combat terrorist financing. People worry they are tracking every detail but it's really more large amounts of money
104  Bitcoin / Legal / Response to FATF Regarding Regulation & Monitoring of Virtual Assets on: April 22, 2019, 05:49:13 PM
https://ciphertrace.com/response-to-fatf-on-vasp-regulation/

CipherTrace just published their recommendations regarding the Financial Action Task Force regulations. What people I don't think realize is how big of a problem money laundering can be and poses a threat to the world financial system. I know a lot of people are anti compliance but I think it's necessary. What are your thoughts?
105  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: KYC defeats the purpose of Crypto. Thoughts anyone? on: April 19, 2019, 07:05:52 PM
I can see where people are coming from when it comes to KYC but I also think that compliance is important for the safety of populations over individuals. We have seen the war on drugs and major scams happen which directly alter a community. So yes KYC isn't ideal but I think keeping individuals safe reigns supreme

Blockchain forensic companies like ciphertrace are what keep my beliefs in the bigger problems at large rather than a single bad transaction. It's the ones where a ton of people are getting harmed
106  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you guys read daily crypto news? on: April 17, 2019, 01:18:51 AM
I try to but don't get too wrapped up into it because it will make you go cray
107  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Running Elixxir Blockchain Nodes on: April 17, 2019, 01:07:19 AM
This project has any connection with Elix (Elixir) token? I don't know if this project will succeed but maybe can be a good option, who know, so i can try to see if i get choosen. As i see they ask to complete a survey with name and all data, i don't like this way.

No I don't believe they are related at all. I just had a look on their website. But I also found this article which I believe you might enjoy reading: https://elixxir.io/blog/betanet-node-application-is-live

109  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why are centralized exchanges still dominating the crypto space? on: April 15, 2019, 10:21:39 PM
ultimately it comes down to trust and user experience. If there are no issues when exchanging and people can easily receive fiat then they are more likely to use this system now. even more so now that binance partnered with CipherTrace to help with AML and  all other scams
110  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Crypto Cowboy Binance Wants to Play by the Rules on: April 15, 2019, 09:49:34 PM
http://fortune.com/2019/04/15/binance-regualtion/

Compliance focused strategy seems to be leading the way with Binance's recent partnership announcement with cyber security and blockchain forensics firm CipherTrace. Fraud and money laundering are real and if we can somehow avoid it at all costs that seems fair to me, what are your thoughts?
111  Other / Off-topic / Re: Anybody have a Bitcoin tattoo? on: April 12, 2019, 05:50:33 PM
I wonder if anyone has their private key tattooed on them....
112  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: AML Compliance for Crypto Exchanges! on: April 12, 2019, 05:49:14 PM
This collaboration sets both Binance as an exchange and Ciphertrace as a cyber security firm away from the rest. I agree it's important not only to track large cases of money laundering but also any sign of terrorism is crucial even in the digital realm
113  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Cypherpunk calls out Mark Zuckerberg on: April 12, 2019, 05:41:30 PM
Mark recently wrote a letter discussing his focus on installing end to end encryption of private messages between a user on Instagram, WhatsApp, Messenger and Facebook. What people don't understand is end to end encryption does not mean privacy.

Longtime cypherpunk David Chaum, who is known for his invention of Digicash and mentioned inthe Bitcoin whitepaper decided to call Mark out on what true privacy meant and how he intends to bring his latest invention Elixxir to the world.

Elixxir digital payments platform will not only offer end to end encryption for users but will obscure metadata from the transaction.

114  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: BTC worth $1M confiscated in Canada ruling on: April 10, 2019, 10:10:06 PM
It sounds like they have some sort of tracking software which I think is great for companies and individuals. We wouldn't want another Quadriga case to break out again. I worry if it did it will leave a lot of people bitter about crypto and we lose out on mass adoption
115  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 14million dollar stolen by a thief on tuxedo ( keplertek.io ) on: April 09, 2019, 06:54:34 PM
this is exactly why we need crypto business compliance monitoring systems like CipherTrace to help watch for oversight of risks like this to help stop it before it happens
116  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Facebook is raising money for Facebook Coin on: April 09, 2019, 06:44:15 PM
Do we actually think it will be decentralized? If anything it will be a internal use of crypto imo or a stablecoin
117  Other / Politics & Society / Crypto Business Compliance to Manage Risks on: April 09, 2019, 06:40:50 PM
https://www.theblockcrypto.com/tiny/malta-financial-services-authority-partners-with-ciphertrace-for-crypto-business-compliance/

With all the scams and mysterious 'deaths' that have been happening in crypto I start to wonder if there is a way to protect people from possible risks such as money laundering and fraud. I learned about CipherTrace from this article and how they use machine learning to detect suspicious behaviors. What are your thoughts on this activity?
118  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Zcash potential competition? on: April 08, 2019, 09:05:04 PM
The thing that might make Elixxir stand out from the community more is the fact that developers can deploy dapps on the elixxir platform. That's why they are showing that the messaging dapp will be the first integration
