its funny how they just think people with forget things they posted....
102  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: HashFast announces specs for new ASIC: 400GH/s on: December 14, 2013, 02:31:26 AM
how do you refund a customer in BTC if you paid for the manufacturing costs in FIAT?  that makes no sense.. The bitcoin was converted to US dollars so that it can be used in real life.

i understand, but arent you a little upset about the huge delays?
103  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: HashFast announces specs for new ASIC: 400GH/s on: December 14, 2013, 02:23:43 AM
dont bother, they ignore all the important questions...

i dont recall so much litigation talk in the knc thread....

105  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: HashFast announces specs for new ASIC: 400GH/s on: December 14, 2013, 02:11:28 AM
eh, you are no KNC.....

 Cool  That's true...

HashFast's chips are about 3 times more powerful when compared on a GH per sq.mm basis.

HashFast is shipping with top-shelf quality Sea Sonic PSUs, so our customers won't have to put up with exploding/self-immolating units like KNC's did.

In addition, HashFast lined up an exclusive with CIARA, which means HashFast machines will be assembled and shipped with utmost expediency (no random guys helping load some random van), in professional/durable packaging.

That means double-walled boxes, so HashFast customers' hardware won't arrive broken like so much of KNC's did.

Finally, (again unlike KNC) HashFast has been working closely with ckolivas for a long time to ensure cgminer works flawlessly with our innovative new GN Protocol, Global Work Queue, etc.

all that doesnt matter since you guys are 2 months late.

It also doesn't matter since they don't have any units in the wild and all these problems (or more) may show up for HF.

Good luck to everyone waiting...

+1 all talk.... cant wait to see all the unexpected problems arise.

thanks for that! but it do not convince me to get back my invested Bitcoin amount. sorry to say that.

I would never in a million years try to convince you about anything amounting to investment advice.

How you choose to invest, speculate, and/or gamble is entirely your own decision and responsibility.  DYODD.

If somebody promises you 'a sure thing' or 'a can't-lose proposition' or a 'guaranteed moneymaker' grab your wallet and run because it's a scam!

Bitcoin mining is extremely risky because it depends on crazy volatile factors like global hashrate/difficulty, fiat/BTC exchange rates, and engineering/manufacturing ultra-precise nanotechnology supported by long supply chains of obscure parts and inscrutable RTL/ASM/C code.

If you would like to help decentralize and protect the network, while possibly profiting in BTC or fiat, HashFast can help you do that by selling you the fastest ASICs in the world.

500 Gigahashes per second.  On a single chip.  With room to overclock.   Cool

eh, you are no KNC.....

Let's be honest - the only reason knc are doing 20nm is to justify the ridiculous price.

I was thinking today.. I wish I'd had the spare funds a few months back to buy in when it was $100/btc.

Neptune would've cost me a grand ...

This is one reason why I enjoy the possibilities with bitcoin. Sure, the value fluctuates, but that can create some great opportunities for those already in it.

Not really, since KNC still puts the price in USD prices and still requires bitcoin. A company truly accepting bitcoin doesn't look at the USD worth at all. Trust me, weather BTC was $10 or $1000 you still would have had to pay $10k.

Uh.

10 btc purchased at $100/ea = $1,000 my cost.

1 Neptune = $10,000USD, which at the time of availability, would've been 10btc.

10 btc sent to KNC = $1,000 my cost.

What are you missing about this?

Don't bother trying to explain it to him.  People like that just don't get it... and never will.   Roll Eyes

how is your ignore button glowing such a dark yellow?! wow

I tried to deprogram the ActiveMining cult and the cheerleaders didn't want to hear it.

Nobody likes a know-it-all!   Grin

are you canadian?

It's Friday 13th, time for something spooky:

https://hashfast.com/hashfast-announces-fastest-bitcoin-mining-chip-in-the-world/

500GH/s on a single chip.

And they expect to get more.

If they can get it up to 750GH/s (i.e. 3TH/s on 4 boards), they will have acheived now what KNC are promising 7 months from now  Grin

not 20nm though.....
That is one of knc's key selling point for knobtune, but what difference does it make if you can hash exactly the same TH on a well designed 28nm?

Whoever suggested a few weeks back they should have just worked on a better 28nm design rather than 20nm was probably right.

i do agree, id rather have a tweaked 28nm now....ah well....if i wanted every single thing the way i like it, i would have started my own company, clearly thats not gonna happen so we depend on knc!

says 117 neptunes still available.

How come they aren't shipping them out ASAP? Still waiting for parts?

yes....waiting for "parts" lol

Hi Orama,

there are post here stating the number of Neptune's left till sold out. eg. 178 and 108 left

is this accurate or would these figures be including orders that have been place but not/never paid?

merv77

I was under the impression they all sold out yesterday. I'm still in Vegas, and burying my head right now. I have had hardly any sleep these days, been on the go 24/7, and had to do a lot of talking. Looks like I've picked up a nasty chest infection, so I'm heading back to Europe tomo, but I won't be useful to anyone until I feel a lot better than this. Undecided

lots of rest and hot tea! feel better...

knc still the best option i guess.....

Is there anything I can do to get these cores to work? On board 3 none of the cores work, and on board 2 about 24 out of the 192 cores seem to stay off.

I just got the miner today and when I initially started it up the hashrate climbed up to about 660/670, but later i checked and noticed it was running at about 480GH/s.

https://i.imgur.com/OipHElT.png

I also have the same issue. 2 Nov Jupiters, both have their own 1200w PSU.
Both started off at 660+ GH but after 12 hours one unit is at 500GH with all cores disabled on one ASIC board
Tried hard reset, checked connections

Has anybody managed to salvage such a board ?
Thanks

try change pool

eligius have problems witch kncminer

Eligius had some problems lately but i don't think it is only related to knc hw

I personally left Eligius once I learned Luke Jr. used the pool (and thus my hashpower) to execute a 51% attack to destroy an altcoin without my knowledge. I also came across some pretty religiously intolerant posts he made and learned he includes religious text in the blocks Eligius finds which made it easy to switch as well...
Odd....  It was my understanding Wizkid is eligius, and Luke JR. is Slush.....  am I wrong?

i thought they were the same guy?

Pages of problems problems problems. Good to see knc have their people on here, as well as their own official forum, offering advice and working so hard with their customers to solve these issues.

Oh wait a second, they aren't. Why waste their time helping existing customers? What a silly thing to do, no money in that. Glad to see they aren't, which means they are being consistent with everything other shipment.

Something for you nepuntuned customers to look forward too, but on a much bigger scale  Cheesy

i can understand them not coming here to discuss stuff, but its a real piss off that you never see them on their OWN FORUM. What was the point of even making it if they are literally on it once ever 3 months....

Have you seen the underside of the controller board:

ha, unnecessary but cool!

Avenger, trust me I'm still pissed at them for the whole upgrade fiasco but I just got tired of complaining. Lol. You seem like a decent guy who got burned and I have been in the same spot. It's the morning and didn't have my coffee. Guess I was just cranky. Lol
