Updated site profit charts:

What is that vertical jump in the profit line that occurred on the 12th, 15th, and 16th?

No...
http://members.optusnet.com.au/exponentialist/Linear_Vs_Exponential.htm

Look at that example, 10% gain every year for linear
Exponential is the increase of rate in growth.
How do you kids not know this?
It's 1% (not 10) from the initial 100, so it's a linear growth of 1 every year. Not 1% every year.

If something grows by 1% every year you have the second example, which is exponential. And that is what we are talking about here.

If you say "80% growth every month", that is exponential. Period.

It's increasing, and the rate at which it is increasing is also increasing. Something can grow at different rates of exponentiation.
103  Economy / Securities / Re: [BTC-TC] BTC Growth: Capital Growth via Hedge Fund-Style Investing on: August 17, 2013, 12:18:04 AM
People are beating around the bush. What they mean to ask is whether this tranche will sell out without new shares being placed for sale. The flippers are waiting.

It looks like 720 shares currently remain from the initial 20,000. I don't have any plans to release further tranches immediately in response to the first tranche selling out, should it do so. As outlined under the "Subscriptions and Redemptions" section, however, we may do so in the future, should the shares begin to trade at a premium to the most recently reported NAV.

Obviously I have no real sway in your decision making, and it's your fund so you are going to do what you think is best. However, given that you sold out  (less than) a day and a half, I think that one more round of funding would benefit everyone and would sell out relatively easily. You double your initial capital, and that in turn benefits investors. Just food for thought, good luck!
104  Economy / Securities / Re: [BTC-TC] IPO Details for BTC-GROWTH on: August 15, 2013, 12:32:09 PM
We're now underway!  Smiley

Many thanks to all those who have already begun participating; somewhere around 4500 shares have traded hands within the first 5 minutes.

Had my order in yesterday. I just wish I had more bitcoin to invest at the moment, I'm extremely impressed with this fund and I am excited for the future. Good luck, Dr. Mulhauser!
105  Economy / Securities / Re: [BitFunder] IceDrill.ASIC IPO (500 Thash Mining Operation powered by HashFast) on: August 11, 2013, 07:45:06 PM
Existing shareholders, I would suggest complaining to Ukyo immediately because I believe he should take action against this.  No existing shareholders should have to pay for Deadterras change of terms after IPO launched.  If Ukyo doesn't take action then he should be seen as liable as well for this big mistake.

This is a serious issue, shareholders.. please protect yourself and fight back hard.

Agreed. If this were a regulated exchange, he would literally be facing prison time for attempting a white collar crim. You cannot guarantee a buyback if the proposed IPO fails, and then keep the money anyways. 100% shows a lack of character and indicates you should not trust this IPO by any means. No respect for shareholders.
106  Economy / Securities / Re: more IPOs > stock price lower, buy IPOs later more cost-effective on: August 11, 2013, 07:19:41 PM
The more IPOs there is the more cautious investors will be (as shown with IceDrill) and that means the new IPOs better come prepared with a professional well-thought plan. The days of half-assed IPOs are over.

This.

You better be prepared to identify yourself and have a thorough business plan. Investors are getting smarter and are understanding which questions need to be asked before they will even consider investing in an IPO. Only the strongest of the strong will survive and get fully invested and succeed. Thanks free market!
107  Economy / Securities / Re: [ActiveMining] The Official Active Mining Discussion Thread on: August 07, 2013, 03:28:29 PM
Whole market is taking a hit today - if it didnt take 5 days to turn fiat into bitcoin id be xfering in more

Everyones trying to jump on these new IPOs in the hopes that as soon as the initial shares sell out they can make a quick buck.

Sadly for them there are too many "New IPOs" popping up and the money is too spread out for these clowns to make anything.

Hell this IceDrill guy is trying to take in 2 Million Dollars worth of BTC in 6 days.

Keep Steady, this ship is sailing on smooth waters.

Why do people buy into these IPOs?  Because profit.
They're buying into the second-highest tier of a pyramid scheme.  As long as they keep their mouths shut, or parrot the IPO issuers managing the hype machine, they will profit.
Hold, Spartans!

LabCoin was oversubscribed with $2mil wanting to get in... so raising $2mil in 6 days isn't impossible. I mean, LabCoin is 130nm Process... on what planet is that a sensible investment when its competing with 28nm process. Even though IceDrill isn't producing their own chips (yet) - they are more competitive per GH than Labcoin, and power consumption being the key factor here, IceDrill eats labcoin for breakfast. But then compare both of those offerings with ActiveM and ActiveM leaves them in the dust. Anyway - ActM is still a good buy, Labcoin is a joke, IceDrill *Might* make their IPO, BTCGarden is a joke... etc.

Please understand that the IPO that promising you more unicorns for your money is not "a better IPO," but a bigger load of crap.
The 28nm "bitcoin ASICs" are as real right now as unicorns.
Sure, they could be built by someone in the future, when the stars align, the lord is willing and if the creek don't rise.
'Till that happy day, the process of the ASIC & its specs are a function of your credulity and the audacity of the IPO.

Not quite... no one is actively investing in and creating real life Unicorns. However there are steps being taken to produce a 28 nm chip. The odds are a lot more likely for that to happen than for Univorns to exist. Awful analogy.

Is there another place where these people are actually answering the questions raised of the company? Their IPO is in a few days and they haven't answered, with even a  modicum of detail, any of the serious concerns. I'm a bit surprised, honestly. If I was a company in their situation, I'd be doing everything in my power to make everything as clear as possible to potential investors. I'd be very wary of this security until there is a lot more transparancy (Name of the bank they are working with, ACTUAL business model with numbers, ACTUAL current cash on hand, etc...). Good luck, I hope you can come through!

Is icebreaker the guy who runs mpex? This is starting to make sense.

I know, this is off topic but new guys asked, so here we go.

Icebraker? Icebraker is just a lonely idiot with too much free time on his hand. Ignore him and you do not regret it.

Asshole, who runs mpex, is called Mircea Popescu (yes, he named the exchange after himself, fkn narcissist indeed).
Mircea Popescu is a lunatic from Romania. He is too important (read: scared shitless) to use bitcointalk but you can see him ego-stroking himself in freenode irc. He loves to brag about beating up women (sound like he has serious mental issues and plethora of complexes involving his mother. Never mind that, for now.) He also gets off on telling everyone, how smart he actually is and how stupid the rest of the human race is. LOL.
This pompous scumbag from Romania has a sock puppet. You have probably met her. This seriously butt hurt sock puppet (no wonder it hurts, if Mirceas hand is up her ass all day long, to make her "lips move" -  spam the bitcointalk) is called MPOE-PR  :*  She had a colourful career in porn site spamming (too lazy to look up the link).
His master Popescu is also a known spammer. His Polimedia.us used to be home for is one stock wunder-bazaar MPEX. Polimedia.us was also hosting a porn site. Some say, he was peddling kiddie porn too from that same address. Not surprised at all. He is seriously ill.

BTW, It is truly amazing, how 2 dipshits, MPOE-PR and Mircea Popescu actually met. Some say,  hi is just hiding behind the skirt and writes all that crap himself. LOL, It makes him even more pathetic.

Cheers and welcome to bitcointalk - The bottomless cesspool of BTC world. Smiley

Could it be possible that he's actually the made up one, and its all her?

That'd be a twist worthy of Shamallamadingdong

What on earth has this thread become?

Seems we'll be getting an eASIC Nextreme-3 too! Grin

http://www.easic.com/easic-announces-strategic-investment-by-seagate/

Cupertino, CA and Santa Clara, CA – August 5, 2013 – eASIC Corporation, a provider of NEW ASIC devices today announced a strategic investment by Seagate Technology (NASDAQ:STX). In addition to the equity investment, eASIC and Seagate also are exploring opportunities to jointly develop custom silicon solutions for Seagate’s portfolio of Solid State Drives (SSD) that would combine Seagate’s expertise in SSD with eASIC’s expertise in fast time-to-market, low-cost and low-power custom silicon solutions.
(...)
“We are extremely excited to be working with one of the world leaders in storage technology,” said Ronnie Vasishta, President and CEO of eASIC. “Seagate has an exceptional history in bringing world class technology and innovation to the storage market. Using our eASIC Nextreme-3 28nm single via configuration technology will help Seagate to bring storage innovation at a pace not yet seen in this industry,” added Vasishta.

Is this the first public mention of the 28 nm by eASIC?

An almost 50,000 share order was just executed on BTCT... I'm guessing someone knows something.
112  Economy / Securities / Re: ActiveMining Overview and Speculation Thread on: July 30, 2013, 04:39:37 PM
It's going down quick!

I predict it could stableize around .006

It went up way to quickly and soon, plus i'm sure people are liquidating to purchase Labcoin and possibly BTCgarden when they go live

Yeah, that was a textbook bubble. It's going to be awhile before a real stable stock price is established (like when they actually start producing). Right now the prices are just riding the waves of good/bad news, which is a speculators dream.
113  Economy / Securities / Re: [ActiveMining] The Official Active Mining Discussion Thread on: July 29, 2013, 10:09:57 PM
Why has the share-count increased on BTCT.co today?

It's at 3069481, and was previously at about 2950000.

That's roughly 120k new shares sold today.

Ken's pulling the good ol' pump and dump, that's why.

Yes, that is a fairly unreasonable request. Do you expect CEOs of large corporations to post up-to-the-minute updates about deals that they are brokering? I am pretty sure they wait until everything has been finalized and then send out a press release. People have also accused Ken of being shortsighted in many of his actions such as releasing new IPO shares at .0025 after the price had risen significantly. I would rather Ken take all the time he needs to make a proper announcement rather than rush incomplete information to the shareholders.

I never said it had to be immediate. He can take his time but if he's going to report on his time in California all he should also show he was there. Again, an easy task not that unreasonable. Also, he's a one man show of a start up business, not the CEO of a Fortune 500 company so the expectations are not the same. I'm not accusing him of anything, just being diligent.

I'm out tonight, but checking in, and in reading this thread just now, I feel like I need to chime in.  Firstly, we are not selling Avalon VMC miners, what is being sold is The Fast Hash One.  If you are an investor, asking for a picture of a flight ticket, a report right after a meeting, or proof positive that he and eASIC are sitting down to finalize a deal, then you need to adjust your outlook.  I don't mean it to be harsh, but coming from someone who travels a lot for business, even the most immediate things that other's may think should transpire right now, can and should be held for a more attentive time frame.  Ken had a schedule, and regardless of you or me, he is sticking to it.  If your faith is THAT fragile, then bitcoin securities shouldn't be your avenue.  I get that this industry is full of mistrust, but really..? what more do you need? Have we become that jaded where even someone up front isnt trusted? I understand certain worries, but thinking this meeting with eASIC is or was fabricated just shows... well it shows lack of business sense.  Ken could not make up a meeting in a space such as this, with a company like eASIC.

It definitely does not show a lack of business sense. You shouldn't act as though it's ridiculous to ask for small acts of good faith, especially when he is in control
of over a million dollars of capital raised by those who have showed their faith in ActM so far. And he could very easily make up something like a trip to California, I'm not sure why you think that's impossible.

Let me be clear, I'm not trying to spread FUD by any means. It's a fair request considering that many people stand to profit simply from the potential positive news of the trip. Just trying to make sure it's honest.
119  Economy / Securities / Re: [ActiveMining] The Official Active Mining Discussion Thread on: July 25, 2013, 10:15:27 PM
Is there a chance the meeting didn't go as planned? Why would Kenneth wait on the announcement, the meeting is surely over by now

It's only 3:15 PST, be patient haha
120  Economy / Securities / Re: [ActiveMining] The Official Active Mining Discussion Thread on: July 25, 2013, 09:20:38 PM
Hi Ken,

Please can we have something to calm investors nerves???

T

He's in a meeting at the moment. If all goes well, then most likely dinner to celebrate afterwards.

There's no rush to post proof, I definitely understand he has business (and potential celebration) to take care of. But at some point, proof of the trip should be shown. Every precaution should be taken in a crowdfunded bitcoin start-up environment to increase trust and confidence.

Looking forward to the good news!
