101  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Bitconnect and Regalcoin are dead? on: December 25, 2017, 05:52:38 PM
Lending coins like Regal and BCC have been tainted hard as Ponzi schemes and by the looks of it now, they are finally being dumped hard. If you earn money off of people under you and are told that your capital is locked for x amount of time avoid it like the plague. These coins pray on the weak and the newbies entering the crypto market and sooner or later their funds will run out and once that happens well you know the rest. Sadly, I was a victim of 1 coin scam but luckily I only put in $200 to test the water. You should check out SALT that is an example of what an actual lending company should look like. They are transparent with most of their missions and they actually have a face behind the coin not like the others. I definitely feel sorry for the people who invested not hundreds but thousands to BCC and regal. You will see a class-action lawsuit coming up soon I am sure.
102  Other / Off-topic / Merry Christmas to Everyone at BitcoinTalk.org on: December 23, 2017, 04:16:51 PM
Hey yall!

I just wanted to spread and joy of Christmas in here at bitcointalk.org. I hope you guys out there have a safe and merry holiday. Since I started and join cryptocurrency in the beginning of the month, it has been an emotional rollercoaster. If cryptocurrency falls or the bubble burst in the coming year, I am still glad that I was apart of something bigger than myself. If my home was big enough --- only 2000 sq foot I would open my home to you all. Maybe next year if my cryptocurrency portfolio does well, I'll do something charitable for you all.

Happy Merry Christmas all!
103  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: All coins! on: December 22, 2017, 05:50:38 PM
The whole crytpcurrency market has been on a massive bull run since Thanksgiving. When I checked coinmarketcap 2 days ago we were sitting at 650Billion and that was the ATH. It is only natural for people to start profit taking and the holiday season is finally here. People are withdrawing for the holiday. Historically, around this time crypto has fallen. Also CME and institutions have been betting on a bear market and spreading news about bubble and correction.... a few weak hands will sway the masses and bam we have a huge correction. If you bought before bull run, you should be still in the green. Also you need to understand that is common in the crypto world. Flash crashes, huge % rises and corrections. Welcome to crypto 24 hour trading! We never sleep!
104  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The Best ALT in 2017? on: December 21, 2017, 10:40:00 PM
I would like to ask you, what is the best ALT Coin in 2017? according to the thought there is, yes definitely a lot of the best coin, but here I ask what is best according to you

The best altcoin in 2017 in my opinion is staring at you at #2---Ethereum. Smart contracts, PoW/PoS, alot of ICOs were based on the Ether platform. I think in the beginning of the year it started at $10 and now its $800. Wow can you imagine a crypto that returns 80x and can still potentially grow even bigger? I wish I had my hand in this altcoin, but I was so distracted in other altcoins and BTC.
105  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is Verge Dying? on: December 21, 2017, 10:26:43 PM
You really need to becareful with these types of coins. As you can probably see this coin is widely speculative and with the recent comments by McAfee, it really doesn't help the credibility of the coin. The developers missed the date on the Wraith protocol and honestly, you need to tread carefully now-a-days. Alot of new crypto investor and they are throwing money anywhere but who know they are also easily manipulative as well.  MCAfee endorsed Safex and look at where that led the coin, literally delisted now on 2 exchanges and people are resorting to selling on reddit forums. I think he just commented on electroneum and that shot up and just dumped. Invest in known coins and actual physical backings.
106  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I bought an old used computer and I found 26 bitcoins on: December 21, 2017, 10:12:25 PM
If you really found 26 BTC on a computer, you are the freaking luckiest guy in the world. But what boggles me is that you have full access to the wallet? Blockchain is synced up? and you have access to the Public and Private key? Either you are not telling us the whole truth or dam I keep believe your god dam luck.  The user didn't lock his profile at all? Anyways, either you do the right thing and return it to the original owner or enjoy your new wealth.
107  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Top 3 Coins to Watch in January? on: December 21, 2017, 03:10:34 AM
I agree with most of the replies on this post. January we will see a huge correction on BTC. The tech is slow and 3x-4x the fees. The coins that will survive or 3 coins to watch would be Cardano, IOTA and BCC. Cardano and IOTA because they are in itself a new breed of platforms (little to no fees and hella fast tx)  and BCC where we might see a huge inverse switch in the BTC community. BTC might drop its #1 spot and a new crypto might arise.
108  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: RX 470 or GTX 1070 Mining ? on: December 20, 2017, 09:28:20 PM
I have 2 Rigs with Rx 470 and Ive been mining Ether and Monero since early 2017 and its been profitable beyond belief. I chose the Rx470 specifically because I wanted to mine only Ether and Monero and you'll definitely get more out of your dollar with it. Take it from me, just visit www.whattomine.com and you'll see the different coins you can mine and GPU you decide to use. Again, this is my own opinion but I usually get 24Mh/s with ether and 500h/s with Monero.  Happy Mining! Also, look at your local power company and see how much they charge per K/W. My electric bill shot up almost 160% after I started mining. So yea, RX 470 hands down and MONERO.
109  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Is mining going to die? on: December 20, 2017, 12:22:58 AM
Looking at the top 10 coins, 5 out of 10 are not mineable.

New 3rd generation coins, like Cardano, is showing a trend.

Do you believe this is going to kill mining like we know it?

This is a honest question.

Mining will eventually die out. PoS is more efficient, Eco-Friendly, and has much less carbon footprint. Honestly, I hope mining never dies out but I know it's a pipe dream. Technology is always advancing and eventually, PoW will become obsolete and things like Tangle (Iota), Delegate System (Ark, Lisk) and masternodes (Dash, Sys) will replace it.
110  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Waves hold for longterm Good or Not? on: December 20, 2017, 12:10:11 AM
Yes, buy waves with your 2 BTC. Even though this post was in August, even I know that WAVES is a great platform other people can use to create a crypto on. I think I read somewhere that Russia was going to use Waves as their form of cryptocurrency. Great insight and I hold you will hold until the end of 2018, you will not be disappointed.
111  Other / Off-topic / Re: HELP: Guiness records attempt on: December 19, 2017, 04:40:46 AM
I applaud you for following your dreams. If it weren't for my mortgage, student loans, and kids I'd follow suit too. Just make sure you post your journey or blog it day by day. If my altcoin blows up, it'll contribute to the cause. Be safe out there and I'll be checking in on your progress.
112  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Altcoin rapid increase on: December 19, 2017, 04:29:13 AM
Maybe I am a newb or I am just optimistic but we are seeing a huge shift of money from BTC to altcoins. 2009-2017 was the year of BTC and it has been proven again and again every month. But as you can see, BTC dominance is slowly decreasing from 95% down to 52%. Honestly, 2018 will be the year of ALTs. We are seeing coins like Ether, Iota, Cardano, and Lisk that are faster, more efficient and you don't have to mine them at all now. Technology is changing and it is changing quickly and after the dust settles BTC will be obsolete.
113  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Electroneum Mining Problem for the last 5 days on: December 19, 2017, 03:01:19 AM
Okay, guys, this has been an annoying problem for the last 5 days. I have no idea how to fix this and it has been affecting my mining on a daily basis.  When I switch pool I get the same issue and once in a while the issue will go away and now it is back. Any help would be helpful but here is what I put in the

114  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Decentraland MANA COIN prediction 1$ 2018? on: December 18, 2017, 04:42:17 AM
Honestly, anything is possible in the cryptoworld. We saw huge gains last week with cardano from 2 cents to 50 cents on news of a roadmap? XRP just launched close to $1 and look at IotA even with the false news with microsoft partnership still at $3.60 from .50 cents. Decentraland has gain alot of attention and traction last couple of weeks and who know buying VR land can be a new thing. Cryptocurrency was once a pipe dream and look at it now. Definitely possible and I honestly have bought in.
115  Other / Off-topic / Re: is worth to buy bitcoins? on: December 18, 2017, 04:36:02 AM
Its been about 7 months since the OP posted this. I hope you bought bitcoin because it 10X to date. BTC will always be king of cryto. It was the original crypto and will be the last crypto if this cryptocurrency bull run fails. BTC is the safest investment and the wise one as well. Again, only invest in what you can afford to lose because all we know this bubble can burst any moment. Don't get me wrong corrections are good for the market, but its a hell of ways down from here if we crash.
116  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: DOGE maddness on: December 18, 2017, 02:47:32 AM
You can thank the DOGE madness to the new people who joined the cryptocurrency movement. Because BITCOIN has been in the media for so long after its wall break of $10,000, people are discovering other altcoins and trying to FOMO where they can. Dogecoin has been an old coin since 2014 and was always a MEME coin in my opinion. If this coin wants to compete with other cryptos it needs some major major major Upgrades. Look at Verge coin---- it used to be Dogecoin Dark until it rebranded and turned into what it is now --- Verge. But yea definitely HYPE, watch it go down once this crypto madness dies down. Don't get me wrong, I hope we hit 1 trillion but I honestly want a slow organic growth, not a huge upward ladder like right now.
117  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin or gold? on: December 17, 2017, 02:24:55 AM
I would put down gold. Gold actually has physical properties that are beneficial for circuitry, does not rust (used for medical) and has been proven over and over to be most stable form of finance from start of civilization till the end. If someone where to launch an EMP over the whole world and the Internet of Things were to go down and we had to revert back to the stone age, Bitcoin is worthless. Honestly, for 1200 an ounce right now, gold is steal for the next 10 years vs BTC. Gold hands down, no questions asked.
118  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is BTC Cash Gonna Pass Ethereum? on: December 17, 2017, 01:29:24 AM
BCash will not surpass Ethereum for the number #2 spot ever. Ethereum has a bigger support base and widely used and established among corporation and a platform for ICOs. BCash is just a fork of BTC and there has been no signs of adoption yet mainstream except for those who support it. It will be hard to overthrow ethereum unless there is a compromise somewhere or another hack.
119  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: SALT Community Membership on: December 16, 2017, 05:38:44 PM
This project seems like a legitimate project. I honestly hesitating on purchasing this coin initially when it came out during the ICO stages because I thought the price point was a tad to high, but after looking at the numbers and its been doing pretty decently in the last few months, I would have to say I am sold. Most lending programs like Bitconnect, RegalCoin, and hextra do not have a solid foundation and pure HYIP. After reading the whitepaper and hitting roadmaps in a timely manner, I can say that SALT looks like a good coin to be in my portfolio. I regret not buying sooner there is a need for this in the future.
120  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Which is the best anonymous coin to buy for long term? on: December 16, 2017, 02:48:38 AM
The best long-term coin, in my opinion, are the first two -- Monero and DeepOnion. Monero has been around longer I think since 2014 and has a huge user based filled with loyal user. DeepOnion is a different story. They claim using the TOR network to hide anonymous wallets and have projects called DEEPVAULT and DEEPSEND. All the markers on their whitepaper have hit and if you look at the size of their community they are huge and potential growing as well. Also, they are offering free AirDrops for the next 12 weeks so get in before it's too late.
