101  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: UK Bitcoiners & P2P Trading Platforms on: December 16, 2013, 05:27:34 PM
Bitstamp is a bit hard to understand .

1) advertised as based in UK .

2) They want you to change GBP to Eur to go into slovacian account ,then they change Eur to Dollar free ,all this for a UK based exchange ??

If it is a UK exchange why can we not simply put GBP into it ?? I o not understand ?

Barclays branch manager assumes it was for tax avoidance ??

It costs me £15 an a crap exchange rate to fund my Uk bitstamp account lol
102  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: UK Bitcoiners & P2P Trading Platforms on: December 15, 2013, 10:53:58 PM
The exchanges avertise that they are uk based but name one that has a UK account ,I cannot fin one .
I'am not sure what UK laws they have to abide by but no-one seems to bank in the UK .
I cannot understand why since all the global banksters have a presence in London, and they are all self regulating.

Does anyone know why exchanges in bitcoin are afraid to bank in the U.K.?
103  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: UK Bitcoiners & P2P Trading Platforms on: December 15, 2013, 08:30:00 PM
I was not aware of some of the exchanges you mentioned in the UK so thank.you .

Buying bitcoins is expensive in U.k. My bank charge £15 to change £ to euro an give me rubbish exchange rate, Four euro less than market value .
Even coinfloor has euro bank account so whatever we do we have crappy exchange rate and fee .

We need exchange that we can put £'s into without fee .

Hello fellow miners ,
I wonder if any one has a simple way of getting a wallet for namecoin or a video instructional for a windows vista computer ?

I have tried in the past but I could never successfully follow the directions and end up with a place to store the namecoins I am mining here .

I would convert them into btc for you.   put them in this address

MyQpF1yqNDHH2znc74vifXBWr5xsRKL2oJ

the exchange I use   is giving about .0085 btc for 1 nmc  so 10 nmc are about .085btc  and 100 nmc are about .85btc

https://vircurex.com/welcome/index?referral_id=756-12066

this one is an exchange but they have fees. the link is my referral link I get tossed a few bucks for your joining.

if you goal is cold storage of nmc  in a paperwallet why?    I would rather do that with btc.  but to each their own.

(edit done)

Thank you ,I got a wallet that was a simple download like bitcoin wallet .

Seem to be having difficulties with my 3.69 gh/s asic usbs since 2nd of December .

Stopped working for unknown reason 2nd Dec .12:03 UK.
Checked the status on 03/12 To see above fault.

Restarted Bitminter to see new version 1:4:3,assumed that was why my miners stopped .
I just checked them at 09:09 0n 4th dec
They mined from 9:03 till 13:28 on 3rd then stopped working .the message is that they ran out of work ,my internet is 17mb connection.do not think connection is an issue.

Just restarted client will update with issues as they arise .

I'am hashing at 3.69 after restart see how it goes.

I feel that Bitcoin has a place in currency markets .

My view is that there will be individual Government monies tied to their respective countries economies.

Then I believe we can have an international virtual currency .

Bitcoin enthusiasts cannot dictate what bitcoin is ,Bitcoin will be what it will be without human controls from haters or lovers of it .

Evangelists boast that there will be no government or bankster controls they also have also got to accept they will have no contrlol .

In a perfect society all decisions should be made by the mass population in exactly the same way as bitcoins value will be .
Not dictated by a few self serving elitists.

If this was reality the world population would I believe benefit significantly .

I love what Bitcoin represents ,which is the value expressed by the population that embrace it .

Hello I have a question ,

I have broken my hard drive when I dropped it !!

I had a payout of about .1 ish bitcoins from my mining efforts .

Are them coins recoverable ? Are they lost forever ?

If you have backup of your wallet.dat file it's OK. If not ... try HDD data recovery company and pray.

Thank you , If I understand correctly ,Basically if the physical hard drive /memory stick is broken all the coins are gone never to be seen ?

There is no way to recover them from the transaction history ?
112  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: How to become an authorised reseller for ASICMiner Erupters? on: October 29, 2013, 09:06:29 AM
Just an idea from reading your post .

Since the best way currently to profit from bitcoin is to arbitrage could you not set up a service to offer a way for uk citizens to get their profits out of mtgox ?

Just brainstorming but if you gathered enough trust you could act as the middle man for a fee .

Example Idea :-

I buy 10 bitcoin on bitstamp @ $1,960

Transfer the 10 coins to your wallet

You sell on mtgox 10 bitcoin @ $2,070

Difference                         =  $110:00

say 10% commision   = $11:00

You get $11 .

customer gets $99 less transaction fees .

This arbitrage is not going to be around forever we should take advantage .

What would the transaction fees be for such a service ?

The best way to attract people to bitcoin is to show them gauranteed profits ,if you have a bank account able to easily withdraw from mtgox ,you could become rich and boost bitcoin usage in the process .

In most forex previous resistance gets tested ,The $144 ish level was tested already ,so the only resistance that has not been  tested is $164 it high probability that this will be visited before a significant move higher .

If you missed out on the previous move averaging in as close to $164 may be the best price you will get in at now .although $174  seems to be holding up at the moment .

I really enjoy the layout that you have going for your self there however could ya support say CoinBase.  BitStamp has there issues as well and we all know Mt.Gox Biggest issue. I have had issues still even my self wtih bitstamp paying in USD even getting money to it.

At least now the platform supports arbitrage between 2 exchanges .

I'am surprised how quickly Clarke implemented Bitstamp ,excellent job  Wink
116  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Mining internet bandwidth usage? on: October 23, 2013, 04:51:17 AM
the bandwidth usage is just low as 56000 bps (roughly 3KB/s) based on transaction block size,1024KiB.

However the value above is for fully synced only.

My computer can do virtually nothing for bout 10 minutes while the client updates every time I log in .
117  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Mining internet bandwidth usage? on: October 22, 2013, 07:45:59 AM
Mining take really low bandwidth , its the wallet who steal up all your bandwidth....
Thank you That is interesting to know ,I can close my wallet since I only get coins every 2 weeks at moment .Then just open it up to let it update while I receive my new coins .

Much appreciated .

119  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Possible uses for Heat Generated by btc mining? on: October 21, 2013, 06:49:15 AM
The heat would be perfect for anaerobic digestion to produce natural gas for cooking/heating .

A usb gets to about 70 degrees centigrade .
I have 11 in a 20 litre bucket of oil ,average temperature 30 degrees .I can add more usb's to get the temperature to the optimum body temperature of 37oC.

Throw poo, wee ,and waste food matter, peeling and such in a 1000 litre container with the drum of oil sealed inside  ,after 3 weeks I have all the free gas I could need for a family of 5,just keep adding crap and mining coins = win .

I personally have produced gas and it felt really good to see a blue flame come out of shite .
I used an immersion heater to experiment but that was before asic heaters were invented lol

On my Usb sticks at Bitminter I noticed that a stale proof of work sends my hashrate to near zero .possibly cause of the tata effect hehe. Shocked
