101  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Digibyte to Bitcoin. Did I make a bad move? on: June 03, 2017, 04:12:21 AM
It really just comes down to luck sometimes. A lot of these cryptos were fairly dormant and then just skyrocketed. Some after news, some out of nowhere. All you can really do is diversify and hope one of your picks in the lucky one IMO.
102  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: COINDASH - Future of trading - ICO July 2017 on: June 03, 2017, 04:09:33 AM
Looks like an interesting project. Anything that makes getting into crypto easier/simpler will do well IMO. Hopefully it's mostly feature functional by launch.
103  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Bancor | Protocol for Smart-tokens, solving the liquidity problem on: June 03, 2017, 04:06:25 AM
There's no date for the ICO yet. You can assume they'll give at least a week or two notice, so if I had to bet I'd say 6/15 right now. We'll just have to wait and see.

106  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Fuck: SegWit, LN, Blockstream, Core, Adam Back, and GMazwell on: April 11, 2017, 06:12:09 AM
There are large amount of fake supporters for BlockStream/Core/SegWit:
https://twitter.com/nikzh/status/851398297491296256
Nikita Zhavoronkov: Much Sybil. Such attack!
Ethically speaking, Blockstream/Core are just about the lowest you can go.  Adam Back and Greg Maxwell are poison and have to be eliminated despite their fancy PhD.  We can't have a centralized, for profit head of Bitcoin.  That is all Blockstream and AXA are trying to bring forth.  Time to get a few guys with technical competence and no paycheck from Adam Back to retake over Core.
107  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Fuck: SegWit, LN, Blockstream, Core, Adam Back, and GMazwell on: April 07, 2017, 02:35:10 PM
As for this particular thread, since it doesn't directly discuss an alternative client, it's unlikely this thread would have been moved anyway, even under the old rules.
Are you kidding me?  They still censor me ALL the time.  More than half the stuff I post gets clipped.  The forum remains biased.  But, I do think their censorship did ultimately have a very bad opposite effect.  BU started to get popular when people started to notice en masse that Core was trying to silence the opposing argument.  So, I'd have to say they got what they deserved.  People who enjoy the philosophy of Bitcoin - don't really care much for things like censorship.

PhDs or not, they should have figured that out.  Core guys aren't really very good at figuring some things.
108  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Fuck: SegWit, LN, Blockstream, Core, Adam Back, and GMazwell on: April 07, 2017, 01:35:15 PM
So much hate by people that don't contribute anything else but forum posts. Meanwhile Gmaxwell has uncovered the ASICBOOT thing and continues improving Core software. You are all amateurs.
Go read Sam Cole's piece on ASICBOOST.  You are the fucking amateur.
109  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Fuck: SegWit, LN, Blockstream, Core, Adam Back, and GMazwell on: April 07, 2017, 08:20:51 AM
You know Blockstream is fucked when even the leading LN devs go against them in public, stating what everyone knew all along: Core runs PR and trolling campaigns:
It is disgusting how arrogant the fuckers are.  Just because they have commit access and a few PhDs, they think they own the blockchain and can convert it to their personal profits via Lightning.

Even if BU is total shit and buggy, it can be fixed.  You can never fix those assholes Adam Back and G Maxwell with the corrupt censorship and dishonest PR campaigns.  Time to flush the toilet.
110  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: NOT Upgrading to SegWit who's with me?! on: April 06, 2017, 05:15:07 PM

When the fork happens, I'll be trading out my btc for btu.
Yep - everyone will also
111  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Layer2 Same bitcoin but with added high perfomance functionality on: March 31, 2017, 01:49:35 PM
Do you realize you can get 100% perfect exchange rate risk protection between BTC-USD?  Tether is USDT and it lets you sit on dollars while bitcoin prices sink.  Jump right back into Bitcoin when the bottom comes.  These trade perfectly and smoothly.  Check on Poloniex and now on Kraken too.

It's all built directly into the bitcoin blockchain.  It is advanced function on the 2nd layer.  (Provided by Omni).  Think it is not so important?  Did you realize Tether just made another $10 million deposit this week?  That is $55 million in total.  Last 24 hours, Tether volume is $34 million.

This is a great example how you can build very useful function right on top of the bitcoin blockchain.  Omni is awesome.  What can you build as a Bitcoin 2nd Layer?

I do not really understand how it works and I find it very confusing. In this case are you referring to an app or a site that allows you to sell your bitcoins in the exact or average value of bitcoins at that moment. Or possibly this would mean that by investing on the bitcoin 2nd layer trading sites we will be passive traders that will enjoy the profit from the trade without doing nothing and everything will be done automatically by the site?

Cryptocurrency is not very good for people who get confused easily. Try checkers or Tiddlywinks.  Pick-up sticks or jacks could also do the trick.

113  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Big Blocks or SegWit? Ehtereim on: March 01, 2017, 10:45:14 PM
In Ethereum (please OP, correct the title, it reads horrible), they have an unit called "gas". It determines the fee paid for storage and computation.

From this reddit post:

Quote from: Reddit user JohnnyLatte
Ethereum has a gas limit rather than a block size. The gas limit is a cap on both processing and storage/bandwidth because the cost of a transaction/function is fixed in units of gas for each type of instruction.

The gas limit is voted up or down by each miner and each miner determines what gas price it is willing to accept which is like bitcoin transaction fees but on a per gas basis rather than a per transaction basis.

The "gas" unit has a price in Ether set by the miners.

At a first glance, it seems Ethereum works a bit like Bitcoin Unlimited, because the miners vote the gas limit which is the equivalent for the maximal block size. Can someone confirm this?

So then, Etheriem blockchain won't get too bloated?
114  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Big Blocks or SegWit? Ehtereim on: March 01, 2017, 04:51:29 PM
How does Ethereim handle the scaling problem?  It looks like they will be soon having an insane transaction volume with all the members of the consortium joining and building apps.  Why does the Ethereim scaling strategy work there buy not on Bitcoin?
115  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Break the impasse! on: February 27, 2017, 04:21:56 PM
Maxwell is a ginger.  He'd be like
and it would be o-Ver (or Verdun as it were... but unlike that epic WWI battle it would take seconds to finish.)
I know.  That sucked.  Apologies to the combatants.

Maxwell would be wheezing after 45 seconds.  Ver would love dumping heavy punches into that stupid red muslim beard of his.  I am betting on Ver/8MB to win.
116  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Break the impasse! on: February 27, 2017, 03:09:28 PM

Enough is enough already!  Let's get Roger Ver and GMaxwell into the octagon and just punch it out.  Ver wins, it's 8MB; Max wins, it's SegWit.  Winner take all.  I say that fat fuck goes down in the first round.

Can someone please set up a bitcoin betting website to take this action?
117  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / More than 50% of SegWit support comes from one miner on: February 07, 2017, 09:05:12 PM
Bitfury.

Somehow this does feel like 'decentralized' to me.
118  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Use Kraken, do not use Coinbase. Coinbase is horrible. on: February 06, 2017, 10:20:08 PM
Was going to use Poloniex so you would say that Kraken is better to use?
Please give the positives and the negatives of both so I can make an educated decision on which one to give my bitcoins too.
As with most exchanges there would not be a 100% assurance to use them and not have them claim the bitcoins were stolen months later. It has been done before.
Poloniex is awesome.  But I don't think you can connect your bank account to it.
119  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Use Kraken, do not use Coinbase. Coinbase is horrible. on: February 06, 2017, 10:19:12 PM
If you want to resolve your issue, sometimes you need to attack them with support request through all available methods - not only support email, but also Twitter, Facebook and so on.
Begging people to take my money doesn't fit my style.
120  Economy / Exchanges / Use Kraken, do not use Coinbase. Coinbase is horrible. on: February 06, 2017, 10:00:55 PM
Coinbase is a nightmare.  They sent stupid messages saying limits are increased while the account if frozen waiting for ID.  Can't upload ID because the interface is busted.  Can't contact help, because no help is available.  You send email, they ignore.  Coinbase is horrible customer service.  Do not use Coinbase.  Use Kraken. https://www.kraken.com/

Coinbase needs to quickly go out of business so they can stop bothering people.  Idiots.
