101  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / 5 tips on margin trading in digital assets on: August 03, 2018, 06:01:26 AM
Margin trading in cryptocurrency is a concept which gives you the financial power to buy more crypto assets than what you can buy with capital in hand. It’s like a loan that the cryptocurrency exchange lends to you. For instance, in a broad sense and put very simply, with a capital of 200 USD you can buy securities worth 1000 USD.

104  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Does crypto offer riches overnight? on: July 29, 2018, 07:59:41 AM
Yes crypto can offer riches overnight in the same was as crypto can bankrupt you overnight. It's very important to understand that a lot of reward almost always means a lot of risk by default. Anyone now would go back in time to buy bitcoin, but anyone around when bitcoin was new would think 10 times before buying a hundred dollar's worth considering how risky it was then even if people told them they'd be millionaires in a few years.
105  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will other coins beat bitcoin in the future? on: July 29, 2018, 07:56:46 AM
Sure, it's possible. But it's important to also ask yourself - is it likely? Bitcoin has been king for a long time and for another coin to usurp its position, it would have to undermine all that bitcoin has done this entire time which is no small task. Bitcoin is bitcoin for a number of reasons, most important being that it is the most decentralised and has a massive network effect. No coin has come even close but that's not to say that no can ever overtake it.
106  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: NEO vs ADA on: July 29, 2018, 07:51:06 AM
Personally, I think both NEO and ADA are great projects. NEO is by far my favourite of the two and is already quite established with a bunch of ICOs already launched on the platform. Add to that the passive income aspect makes a great long-term hold.
ADA is also another great hold but currently, it's riding solely on the team and the vision. Another aspect I like is its passive income generating ability but that too is yet to be implemented. Much is left to be seen as to how the project plays out but I believe it's a good pick and have invested in it as well as in NEO.
107  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Invest in ICO or buy BTC? on: July 29, 2018, 07:43:46 AM
Given the current market sentiment, I think it'd be better to have a large chunk of your portfolio in BTC rather than looking at ICOs. That being said it's still possible to ride on the hype of certain projects and make some decent gains - however, the chances of this are slim at best so it's always better to err on the side of caution. Personally, I'm staying away from ICOs in general, but I'd still be investing in certain projects like NEX and NOS for instance.

108  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: bitcoin back to $500 is likeley on: July 29, 2018, 07:38:43 AM
The likeliness depends on a lot of factors. Given the current scenario, I think a fall is quite likely, say to about 1.5k - 2k levels. I still believe that we're in a bear market and things tend to fall in a bear market. I think a 500$ btc situation would be possible with governments cracking down on it globally - again unlikely, but no out of the realm of possibility.
109  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: NEO. Buy or not? on: July 29, 2018, 07:36:05 AM
Always felt that NEO was a great coin to get into regardless of price. Thought it was a good buy at 30, at 50 at 80 and at 120$ as well. Seeing as how it's back to 35 it's a great opportunity if you missed out on getting into it initially. However, do keep in mind that all being said NEO is still not going to be safer than BTC. So if there's weakness in a market and BTC slides, the effects will be magnified in other alts. A balanced investment strategy will help you manoeuvre better.

110  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: All my money in 1 altcoin - Too risky? on: July 29, 2018, 06:55:36 AM
I think that regardless of the amount you're investing you should have a balanced investment approach. This means investing a bulk in a few strong projects and a minor portion in some riskier projects. Look at it this way... assume you get 10x out of your investment and now have 5k... would you still want all of it in one coin? Balance is always better and helps spreads out risk in the event that your 500$ investment goes down 90% on the flipside.
111  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Bitcoin price and altcoin price on: July 29, 2018, 06:52:31 AM
In most cases, the altcoins track bitcoin in terms of price. A big spike to the upside or downside in bitcoin usually means a big spike or downward move for the altcoins, too. However, from what I've noticed, when BTC is unusually strong, then no matter which way you look at it, the alts are in for a rough time.
112  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Should I cash out and take the loss? on: July 29, 2018, 06:50:31 AM
It's important to understand why you are in a loss in the first place and what led to you being in your current situation where you feel you need to sell and salvage what you have left. It appears that you haven't done enough research and gone a bit overboard in terms of certain high-risk coins. If you had adopted a more balanced approach, you wouldn't be in the predicament you are in now and would be able to comfortably hold until your investments recovered.
113  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Shall I buy BTC? on: July 29, 2018, 06:47:10 AM
If you're looking to get into crypto to even generally just to add to your position, BTC is always your go-to currency. And if you're in crypto, aside from your favourite alts, having a decent BTC portfolio is always preferable. However, it's also important to have a balanced approach and not go overboard even when it comes to BTC. Keep some of your fiat with you just in case BTC goes down and you need to buy it up again - basically, never go "all in"
114  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Long Term Invests on: July 22, 2018, 07:56:52 AM
BTC and ETH are the obvious picks and for good reason. I'll definitely be holding those long term. Apart from that, I like NEO and ADA - Great projects with a great future. I also like DEX coins like Switcheo and Kyber - dexes have a great use case and I think they'll be the future of crypto trading.
115  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will NEO hit 200$ ? on: July 22, 2018, 07:54:30 AM
Yes i don't doubt NEO could go to 200 or even 1000. It's important to select strong projects with a great dev team behind it and with a huge community to support it - of which NEO ticks all the boxes. So definitely a great coin to hold long term
116  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I have 12 Bitcoin. What should I do??? on: July 22, 2018, 07:52:33 AM
I think your best bet right now would be to hold at least 10 bitcoin in cold storage. Once markets turn around you could think of investing some of it into altcoins but in the bigger scheme of things, holding btc always proves to be more worthwhile and the safe line to take.
117  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Suggest me some good ICO s in 2018 on: July 22, 2018, 07:51:12 AM
NEX, NOS and Spotcoin are some of the good ones I'm looking at. Although NEX said it would launch this year, the ICO seems to have been put on the backburner given the current market situation. Having said that, I still think a lot of hype exists around the project and I'll be investing when it launches.
118  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to find the best ICO program on: July 22, 2018, 07:47:48 AM
There's no shortcut or substitute for good ol' fashioned research. So always do a lot of research and reading to gauge what's good and what's not. A good way to do this is to visit the reddits of projects you think have potential and browse through what people are saying.
119  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are ICOs gonna end someday ? on: July 22, 2018, 07:45:59 AM
As crypto in general grows, so will ICOs, albeit slower than they are now. If crypto dies, then by default ICOs will too. This initially ICO boom is quite normal as it is with all things new and exciting. But as this space matures the rate at which ICOs are launched will decrease.
120  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to make money on risky ICOs? on: July 22, 2018, 07:42:56 AM
There's no sure shot way or rule to make money on risky ICOs. And the chances of losing money are great as compared to the chances of you making huge gains when it comes to risky projects. That's not to say you shouldn't take risks, just that you need to be fully aware of the risks you're taking.
