101  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - carrier grade, data center ready mining rigs on: November 12, 2015, 06:01:31 AM
Anybody know the expected life of the miner SP20 or SP30 assuming I did not overclock? I am trying to buy a miner that can last really long Smiley

Working in food industry can save you extra money too, example if you work in McDonald they normally give you free meal especially if there is left over. Smiley

Is there a way to check if there is any virus in my computer from these miner? I did a avg scan for my whole computer and nothing. Does that mean I am safe?

Thanks Smiley
105  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] NiceHash.com - sell & buy hash rate cloud mining service / multipool on: October 26, 2015, 02:44:11 AM
Anybody know what happen to quark mining in nicehash, the reject rate is so high for everyone.

https://www.nicehash.com/?p=miners&a=12&l=1

Checking into that. Are you a miner among them with high stale rate? Could you provide us a ping report to USA server? Check FAQ how to do this.

Looks like you already fix the problem. Thanks Smiley

We did nothing to fix it.

But here is what was happening; at time of high rejects rates, some customers had very wild orders that were constantly switching jobs and diffs. This caused quite some rejects being produced. Because we drop old jobs and don't keep information about them (thus we don't know diff of stale shares and use current diff for speed calculation), stale rejected speed when switching from low diff job to high diff job is highly exaggerated. Additionally to that, we reward miners with extra virtual shares when fast job switching is happening.

True that you may have high reject rate, but if you check your accepted speed, it should be normal as any other time.

Thanks for the quick reply, and yes you are right the accepted speed is the same Smiley.

More question: Is there a way to change the payout to every 24 hours instead of every 6 hours?

Buy or develop your own time machine and go back to 2008 and mine BTC on the computer at your mothers house in the basement

If you manage to develop time machine, selling the time machine would make more money then go back in time to mine BTC. Gorvenment would pay few trillion for it Tongue
109  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: How much money do I need to invest before I start making money? on: June 17, 2015, 03:59:54 PM
I don't know anything about mining, just wondering how much money do I need to invest into miners to break even?

Buying Bitcoin and making return is much much higher chances then buying miners to make a return. So Smiley

To remove the dust you can use small air compressor one time at week.

I believe it would be much easier to buy some air filter sponge or sheet to reduce the dust. Just make sure it doesn't reduce the fan pressure too much.
111  Economy / Gambling / Re: Biggest streak that you won in the end on: June 10, 2015, 04:49:25 PM
The title pretty much explains it,
What is your biggest losing streak at martingale which you won in the end?

My biggest losing streak is 16 on primedice and won it back on the 17th bet. But after that I lost all my money on 20 losing streak Sad.
112  Economy / Economics / Re: Will a bank being hacked boost adoption of bitcoin? on: June 10, 2015, 04:47:28 PM
Isn't it sure to happen, sooner or later, that some country's central bank, or banking system, gets hacked? If that happened it'd shake peoples' confidence in the banking system, which most think is more robust than the likes of the blockchain, simply because banks are centralised systems. I guess some people would then look at the likes of bitcoin, but even it's not invulnerable - or is it?

No, even if the banking get hacked so badly, the most important thing is that people's money is secured by government.
113  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Problem with Antminer S5 - boots up and sounds alarm after a few minutes. on: June 10, 2015, 04:44:57 PM
After swapping the power supply and replugging in the cables a third time, it seems to be working fine...

Gave me the feeling that your place is too hot and your power supply get heated up after awhile and fail to power your antminer S5.
114  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: How much mining equipment will be shut off when the block reward is halved? on: June 09, 2015, 02:15:58 PM
How much mining equipment will be shut off when the block reward is halved next year? if the price is the same as it is today? im thinking a lot since the block reward will be 50% less.

If the price is same then I am assuming about 40% mining equipment will shut off, the other 10% is people who mine for fun. Anyway I am pretty sure the price would increase after halve as miner dumping would cut in half.
115  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Nowadays what's the actual cost of mining 1 BTC ? on: June 09, 2015, 08:14:05 AM
Hello guys,

I have a simple question. Please, answer ......

Nowadays what's the actual cost of mining 1 BTC ?

Please, I really need to know .

If you factor in the mining variable and fixed cost, the cost is probably 2 BTC for each BTC mined, not worth mining at home anymore.
116  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: I placed my 4 s3+ outside on: June 09, 2015, 08:12:50 AM
Honestly just leave them outside and check the weather from time to time to make sure it will not rain.

The S3 and the PSU aren't worth that much to begin with.

You are better off leaving them outside then leaving them indoors turned off - which makes no money what so ever.

Every month that goes by is a huge risk of difficulty going higher or price going lower. Make the money now while you still can.

Anyway, isn't selling those miner on ebay is even better then running them with all those risk? Probably get a lot more back then the miner can mine for the whole life.
117  Other / Archival / Re: Pictures of your mining rigs! on: May 19, 2015, 01:26:43 PM
My new bastard HEX4M.  Bit of tinkering with some used Cointerra coolers and I managed to clear the SMD components to get the waterblocks mounted properly.  I know it's not going to make any money, but it will be fun to mess about with, anyway! Smiley

Nice, how fast can this think go? Probably going to be really useful when winter comes. Warm your feet!!! Smiley

Try --algorithm quarkcoin, stop using shaders, thread concurrency, and lookup gap.

Tried, still gave me the same error.

Anybody can help me please? I will have few of my mining rig mine for you as a donation depending on the speed increase I get as compare to the one provided by nicehash.
