I think it is always to have the big portion in BTC. I started like keeping more than 50% on BTC. Always safe zone. Or you can consider Ethereum for a safe coin.
For altcoins you should do your own research.
Long term holds I have are MAN, CPC and nowadays GEN
Short terms holds you can check coinmarketcal for events and wait for the pumps.

Consensus began already, we are at the end of the first day.
Last years had huge impact on the coins. I am not that old in this market and I am not sure if the FUD was at this level the years before.
I think good news with good companies, such as Microsoft announcing that they will support crypto market (just as an example) the impact will be more than huge.
This year there are so many attendants, let's hope and wait for tomorrow to be a bright day.

I am not expecting the same impact like last year though... :/

I don't know the future of altcoins but my future doesn't seem that bright... So sick of this bearish altcoin season. Just want to get rid of my  non profitable bags, invest in good projects and keep 70% my portfolio in BTC.

I like bibox, I have small investment for CPC in Bibox. Can it be the next Binance? Why not? or Why? It depends on the competitions as well.
I would go with cobinhood - COB token. So promising

Yes, the market doesn't look good at all. I have lost a lot of btc percentages during this crash.
All of us were working hard to gain in the last 3 weeks and most of us just lost it in seconds...
Anyway, my hope is this Consensus 2018 that everyone is talking about. It will begin tomorrow. Take a look, I am hopeful about it.

Got myself some NANO, some more Pay (LTC partnership can moon)
Some more AION (was in between buying VEN, ICX and AION - picked AION)
Sold some SYS (lost my belief in it), added more REBL (low cap)

I am attending bounties at Bountyhive.io.
I think those ICO's can be promising.
But I stopped investing in any of them. With the bear season more than 90 of them weren't even able to sell their coins.
The ones that are scam will be eliminated soon.

But if the bull season comes back tons of scams will appear again..

I was very optimistic about SYS airdrop, however the last news I have read and the masternode effect made me suspicious.
Masternode didn't affect the price at all, while other project has x2 x3 pumps...
I was expecting a huge pump but now I am really suspicious, concerning the airdrop will only be made on the sys platform and not on the exchanges...

Developers are fine but i think they are kinda slow. I mean to be in the top 30 this work shouldnt be enough. But that doesnt mean that i am long on it 

Interesting and promising sector we all need. Progressive project and great value for decentralized world, great that it is built on stratis network!

I have some golem, but I don't think it is a long term coin, I will be keeping it for a couple of months at most.
I don't think Gup, DGB and SC are good choices too..

Bancor is also good but it needs tons of improvement...

Well, as a person who is diagnosed with bipolar disorder, my emotions go up and down. At first it was kinda tiring, but this became a challenge I needed to achieve. I am trying to control my feelings, never loose hope and stay calm.

Stellar has potential, but to be in the top 10 coins having potential is not enough.
While there are coins such as ETH, ripple (hate it but sorry unfortunately is a .hity usable project), OMG, EOS...

TRON is coin that is very easy to get hyped because community loves this coin so in April we had great hype of XVG. In my opinion, May could be month of TRON.
