A quick tip for all those updating to 1.6.3.
I have seen a few users post about how they now have to redownload the entire chain and it takes ~3 hours every update..
If you are having to redownload the entire chain every update, your not updating properly and making it a lot harder on yourself!!!
When you update your wallets... ALWAYS back up your wallet.dat file, back up your private keys...(they dont change, unless you add new addresses. There will be one for each address. but always have that down because wallet.dat files can become corrupted), verify new QT wallet through DeepVault, then close your current QT wallet version.
Replace your Old DeepOnion folder where ever it is in C:\Documents etc with the contents of the NEWLY downloaded folder, or just replace the DeepOnionQT.exe it self into your old DeepOnion folder ((NOT THE APPDATA FOLDER, where your exe is stored))
Open the NEW DeepOnionQT.exe file
and BOOM! your good to go.

You shouldn't be deleting all of your APPDATA folder everytime, ESPECIALLY your wallet.dat lol.
If you do that everytime you update, you will have to redownload the entire chain from scratch... where its really as simple as a quick back up, and a close/open of new version... easy-peezy.
Dont make it harder on yourself!!
Also again please dont always forget to back up your wallet.dat files.
I tend to back up mine almost every week at least. There are times where you may get a conflicted transaction and the only way to fix it is to revert to an older wallet.dat. Its happened plenty of times to me. You can NEVER have too many backups, in too many places of all your secure data!

I had expected a price decrease on the last few weeks of the airdrops, but it's more or less constant about 0.00022 BTC. But I still have a few buy orders on kucoin, just in case Would like to see that 100k sat mark again though <3 I would like to see more than that to be honest but I get what you mean 100k is just 4x from now... thats not too hard to hit DeepOnion is a Top20 project, I expect to see far more than that in some months from now. |

Just downloaded and tested the new wallet, all works fine (on windows). Just download it from the main forum and replace your exe with the one in the zip file
Everyday is a new surprise from DeepOnion! Wake up to a brand new wallet unexpectedly with new features and bug fixes... amazing! Unexpectedly the dev team is constantly putting out new releases and adding features. I dont see ANY OTHER COIN out there with as much movement as the deeponion team. As recommended, you shouldnt just "replace" your old QT file with the new one. Regardless of download, always verifiy your new QT file over DeepVault first. Backup your wallet.dat in a seperate location and label it "pre163" or whatever. Always makes sure you have your privkeys saved too as a wallet file can become corrupt. After you backup, close your old qt... then replace Downloaded, Verified, and installed... works 100% perfect over obsf4 and all.. I have already that the DO are very serious. This is not an opinion, it's a fact. |

The DeepOnion physical coins kickstarter was a success. 22k Gold plated coins are unlocked. The kickstarted achieved pledges totaling €10,111 Euro from the original starting €5000. This is 202.2% of base pledge needed for the project. Not unusual achievement for our community members.
