101  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] CryptoShares - Equally distributed among 1000 - Free Shares on: March 28, 2014, 12:51:13 PM
Great to see well distributed coins like CryptoShares gaining market acceptance.

Let us know what we can do to assist.
102  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [PMC] Premine Coin | Rare | Mining Transaction Fee Proof of Concept on: March 28, 2014, 12:35:55 PM
We can do a PMC faucet here:

http://altcoinfaucet.net/

Looks pretty basic....

Not a bad idea, I'll send them an email.

Another faucet worth adding: CoinOK.pw
103  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ⚒[CGA] Cryptographic Anomaly - The Elusive Coin⚒ on: March 28, 2014, 10:06:26 AM

This is how I do the math (after showing my work here I now need to change the descriptions Tongue):

Find the maximum amount of CGA (if diff < 3) to come into existence (not counting bonus blocks):
1 month(30days) = 2,592,000 sec
2,592,000 sec / 40 sec blocks = 64,800 blocks per month
64,800 blocks per month x .33333333 per block = 21,599.999784 CGA per month
21,599.999784 CGA per month x 12 = 259,199.997408 CGA per year
100 years (if you live to 100) x 259,199.997408 CGA per year = 25,919,999.7408 CGA in a "lifetime"

Minimum amount of time to "mine out" CGA:
10 Billion CGA / 259,199.997408 CGA per year = 38,580.2472993827 years

So, if the difficulty for CGA never goes above 3 for 38,580.2472993827 years then CGA will be mined out. But this is very unlikely, the difficulty will rise in the first few years due to technology, making CGA more scarce and theoretically more valuable.

It'd be a good idea to include these numbers in OP...easier for people to wrap their minds around how rare CGA is.

Rarity is one piece of the equation.  For CGA to go mainstream it'll need to be accepted by merchants who feel comfortable using miniscule fractions of a coin.  A small business owner may not be very comfortable accepting a currency with so many zeros to the right of the decimal point.  Imagine a minimum wage worker missing 1 or 2 zeros creating in a meaningful loss which can't be reversed.
104  Economy / Services / Re: Scrypt Cloud Mining - Accepts Paypal! on: March 28, 2014, 12:58:06 AM
I've been killing it on eBay with my services so I figured I'd make a thread here as well.

I have an ever growing amount of scrypt hardware for rent which you can find here: http://nosminingcontracts.com/shop/

You can check my eBay account here, I have extremely good feedback: http://stores.ebay.com/soothaa

I own LeaseRigs.com.  Interested in figuring out an arrangement where I use your miners in exchange for redirecting LeaseRigs.com to your eBay page?
105  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: LEASERIG Question on: March 28, 2014, 12:38:47 AM
Ive got one of my Antminers posted on Leaserig and a person keeps renting it but I have a few questions..

This person has his pool setup to a IP addrress and he is getting very slow hash rates..  50-70ghs

He keeps re renting for 24 hours.

Here are the Questions:

1) How can he be making a profit?

2) Any idea one whats actually going on here?

3) Any way to determine what coin he is mining?

Normally I could care less what a person is mining but im amazed he isnt bitching about the slow hashrates so he seems to be happy with the slower rate.. so naturally it set off redflags when he keeps renewing.  I guess i want to make sure nothing illegal could be going on here like using the machine to do something malicious.

He may be new to mining.  While a ton of hashes is nice...a well defined strategy is more important than competing head to head against miners with far more resources.

Learned something new from your post.  Thought rig owners knew exactly which coins are being mined when leasing rigs to 3rd parties.

107  Economy / Services / Re: Selling service - profit: >1 BTC per week on: March 27, 2014, 11:13:40 PM
For those interested (maybe me); do you provide additional data of the current situation?
- Amount of visitors for the past months and trend
- Current costs
- Current profits
- What about the BTC that people currently have on the site, will you keep it on their balance (I expect so)

Cheers

1. ~1500 per day (rising slowly)
2. Mininal - cheap VPS for 20$ per month can handle everything
3. ~1 BTC per week
4. Yes of course. This is money from customers. We are not stealing it.

I own LeaseRigs.com.

You're selling much too early.  Leasing rigs is going to be a HUGE industry with the tsunami of new coins being launched over the next 2-3 years + millions of new crypto investors who don't have the time or expertise to build their own rigs.

Something to think about.

What is LeaseRigs.com??? There is no such site.

LeaseRigs.com is going to a holding page for now.  The domain represents a category whose upward trajectory has just begun.

My plan is to build a well designed website on the domain when the time is right or partner with a forward thinker to take their rig leasing business to the next level.

111  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] CommunityCoin (COMM) Fair & FREE Distribution | Pure PoS | No Premine! on: March 27, 2014, 10:23:29 AM
I got my coins and thanks for it.
Whats the next step?

Is there a plan for running a faucet?
I would like to donate some coins from my share, so that those who got disqualified can also get involved.

Thanks

Great idea.  Highly recommend: CoinOK.pw

PM VirtualDN to create CommunityCoin faucet...usually ready within a few hours.
112  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][YINYANG] ★★Yin & Yang Coin - NEW CONCEPTS! NEW EXCHANGES! BEST NEW COINS! on: March 27, 2014, 10:08:34 AM
Just wanted to point out that I have not recieved any coins for Week 2 yet (I did get first week) either.

Been following this thread on a daily basis, and It has made me think I might have been a fool buying up new Yin&Yang coins...

However, Dev did just reply to this thread. Maybe new coins will go out soon, and the dev will be more active here.
But I'm afraid that I just lost some coins putting some trust in this, beeing one of my first coins in crypto.

Trust is hard to earn...easy to lose.  For a coin to thrive it needs strong leadership.

Time & energy are our most valuable resources.

Yin & Yang are based on flawed models.  A truly wise leader can make this model work but that is the 'exception'...not the norm.

Best to pay higher prices for proven winners like Bitcoin & BlackCoin.

Key to thriving in this environment is having the discipline to preserve your capital against catastrophic draw downs and losses.  Investing valuable BTC into a questionable coin is simply playing with fire.  Be thoughtful and trust your instincts...clues are all in this thread.
113  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: The Cypherfunks[FUNK]! Internet band & coin. Musicians! (on RSA national news) on: March 26, 2014, 11:09:49 PM
Contact the owner of Coin-swap to get your coin listed. Cryptorush is dead

Submitted. Also contacted Moolah.io.

Any other exchanges to try [besides mintpal]?

Nxt-e.com is another exchange worth taking a deeper look into.

1 or 2 false positives are normal....3 is getting a bit high.

Earlier in the thread someone mentioned getting a virus...most likely from Yang Wallet.

Is there there an updated/clean version of Yang wallet?

Yincoin wallet not synching.

Anyone have a sample conf file.

Thanks.

Use this, works for me. Same details for both wallets but name one of them yincoin.conf and the other yangcoin.conf and place in their respective folders within %appdata%.

Code:
addnode=155.210.85.73
addnode=184.154.116
addnode=96.241.43.48

Wallet synched...thanks!

Posted wallet on eCoiner.  Really like the idea and name behind this coin.  A true community coin has a much higher chance of succeeding long term than a coin concentrated in a few hands as evidenced by C2's market cap vs. Premine.

Glad to be at the right place at exactly the right time.

Cant sync wallet,

I have these 3 conf files
coins.conf
coin.conf
stories.conf

all of them contain the same thing

rpcuser=stories
rpcpassword=stories_secret_password
seednode=54.194.99.126
addnode=54.194.99.126
addnode=193.87.209.46
daemon=1

If anyone can help me sync my wallet that would be great.

Similar issue here.  Wallet used to sync...now shows 3 weeks behind with 0 active connections.

A mineable + POS...ie BlackCoin would be great.

I prefer coins with less than 100 million.
