101  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ROCKMINER ASIC miner official thread on: November 19, 2014, 03:33:20 PM
Hi,sorry to be late.

for RK-BOX:

Windows:https://github.com/rockminerinc/cgminer-for-Rocket-box
Cgminer: https://github.com/rockminerinc/cgminer   enable icarus

frequency:300~320 M

and as pointed out about 2 months ago (ok about a month ago), with this 2 month old software, this don't work, even worse with the NRBox

hence the reason why the Author of CGMiner is working on it, Give him a hand yo!?

We use this for hundreds of RK-BOX,they are ok. What's your details error info about it? Please just send me a mail for the details.

rockixe#rockminer.com

Thanks.

For RK-box,it is out of production,we changed the design and don't use icarus protocol now,and there are no docs about it,sorry for that.

Get them the documentation for the new r-box.

For the RK-box that is out of production, sorry, but there is documentation. When a product is no longer in production they still have the documentation on the parts used, protocols, firmware, etc.

wah! my miner is only doing 30-40GHs now!! im tearing it down, see if i killed something

ok, ok, panic over, i had to see if it was the software 1st, it was, slapped it on the old 4.7.0 that does 50% erroring, it was happy at 100GHs

Is it still reporting errors of 50%?

What is your poolside hashrate?

Exactly!

Get Cklovias and Luke-Jr the documentation so they can write software that works properly.
104  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive RockMiner New R-Box Setup [HD] on: November 19, 2014, 12:07:47 AM
This is great. I should have my first New R-Box in a day or two and I was wondering how to get my power supply running absent a motherboard. Thanks for answering that simply! I have some bridges from a breadboard I'll use instead of a paperclip, though.

Please forgive my ignorance, but if I have a 350W power supply and I just have 1 New R-Box running on it, will the power supply pull 350W, ~115W, or some other amount from the wall?

It will pull a little more than the R-Box draws, depending on the power supply efficiency.

$17/mh???  Shocked

That was my thought.

More power to him.

wanna jump in a Cessna and fly to china to find Rockxie?
Speaking of which, he used to be pretty active here, but that appears to not be the case any more... My spidey sense is tingling.

I suspect they think that they have made their money, so they are done participating.
107  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ROCKMINER ASIC miner official thread on: November 18, 2014, 11:26:22 AM
Unfortunately the win exe didn't work for me either.

I was topping out around 400 gh with 7 new r-boxes and 8 of the old ones.
Sorry I wasn't of any useful help then, I hearby pronounce these hacks I added a complete failure. All I offered was some tweaking of someone's existing setup which was successful but it appears unique to just that one setup. It's hard to achieve much on remote hardware you don't even have documentation for. Looks like this driver needs a complete rewrite which isn't possible without some proper communication protocol documentation. I don't suppose anyone has some?

hey ckolivas, you didn't miss a semicolon in the code did you? Tongue
Heh I wish it were something that simple.

Wasn't slamming you by any means. I wish I could get CG to work for me.

109  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: BFGMiner 4.10.0: GBT+Stratum, RPC, Mac/Linux/Win64, Spondoolies SP30 on: November 17, 2014, 04:56:15 PM
In cgminer to set clock , chips and serial, I would use:

--zeus-chips 128 --zeus-clock 328 --scan-serial \\.\COM12

What is the equivalent in latest bfgminer?

Code:
-S zus:all --set zus:chips=128 --set zus:clock=328

I have used the zadig tool to convert my drivers, but then the latest BFGminer flat does not see them.

That's the problem. Installing Zadig and configuring your USB devices for CGMiner effectively uninstalled the proper drivers that BFGMiner uses. In most cases the drivers BFGMiner expects and those CGMiner expects are mutually exclusive and incompatible.

Use the Control Panel in Windows to view the Properties of each device, uninstall the driver, and check the box to "Delete the driver".

Then re-install the proper drivers for ZeusMiner and BFGMiner:

http://www.silabs.com/products/mcu/pages/usbtouartbridgevcpdrivers.aspx

Yep. Might want to lower that clock also. From my understanding the X6 devices don't like them that high.

Would like to have those silverfish miners but I doubt you'd take the $$ I have for them, lol.
112  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: OFFICIAL CGMINER mining software thread for linux/win/osx/mips/arm/r-pi 4.7.1 on: November 14, 2014, 03:00:00 PM
will this work with ATI 7970 single card?

Q: What happened to CPU and GPU mining?
A: Their efficiency makes them irrelevant in the bitcoin mining world today
and the author has no interest in supporting alternative coins that are better
mined by these devices.

Try BFGminer or SGminer for GPU mining.
113  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ROCKMINER ASIC miner official thread on: November 14, 2014, 10:25:18 AM
hate to be an ass, but what do you mean buy "it's at the diminishing returns stage"? the more you tweak the software around the less its giving you back? or less its worth it to you? or less its worth the r/rockets-boxes to be running?
Each next tweak is improving things less and less. Barring some kind of breakthrough (like getting some goddamned documentation about the communication protocol from the manufacturer instead of using their half working driver as an example) I'm not sure things stand to improve much more.

If there an updated win version yet?

Heh can't seem to keep with the demands on this place... but yeah sure here's a binary:

http://ck.kolivas.org/apps/cgminer/temp/cgminer.exe

Just drop it into an extracted 4.7.1 directory overwriting the existing binary.

Thank you Sir. I'll give it a shot.

Any idea why I can't get my r-boxes to run at full speed with cg?

Cg does not see my miners on my other box either.

Note the displayed hashrate appears lower but that's because the dodgy driver counts rejects in its hashrate which there are quite a few in the form of duplicates, but the updated driver hashrate is higher as confirmed at the pool end.

No idea about your other box. USB3 slot maybe?
If there an updated win version yet?

I'm using USB2 on the box that won't pick them up on. System sees them fine with the regular driver and BFG.
115  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ROCKMINER ASIC miner official thread on: November 14, 2014, 12:04:15 AM
Hmm, RKBox equivalent to the "New Rbox"? also just git'ed cgminer last night into a ubuntu system, setting that up for the box, gonna see if that works.
Depends on what you mean by equivalent? But yes these two particular devices use the same version of software/drivers.

Equivalent as in the same chipset, firmware, etc

But if the mucking around with the RKbox that ckolivas did was enough for the software to work nicely with the "New Rbox" that guy deserves a beer or 20
Should work with both. The Rocketbox was 8 blades, the new Rbox is a single blade as Dogie said. I'm still trying to further tweak the driver, but it's at the diminishing returns stage. A blade seems to drop out very easily though, and it usually re-hotplugs but not always.

ckolovas,

Any idea why I can't get my r-boxes to run at full speed with cg?

Cg does not see my miners on my other box either.

Thanks.

117  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ROCKMINER ASIC miner official thread on: November 13, 2014, 01:52:12 PM
I recently had remote access to an RKbox and committed some improvements to the cgminer git master branch. It appears to be performing better and more stable now, along with less rejects/dupes, much less HW errors and a little less CPU usage. Note the displayed hashrate appears lower but that's because the dodgy driver counts rejects in its hashrate which there are quite a few in the form of duplicates, but the updated driver hashrate is higher as confirmed at the pool end. I also found the sweet spot to be a frequency of 330.

Sweet spot of 330? Very nice work. Thank you!

I just wish I could get CG to work on my setup. I install the drivers and when I launch it does not recognize my miners on one box. On the other it runs at reduced speed.

 Sad

You'd be best to sell it on eBay for that price.

It's worth $20 at most shipped here.

^I agree, looks likea nice product. I have an orginal bitfury kit still churning away for me, and its an excellent set of gear/chips.

however, the competition is now selling <1BTC/TH with similar density but more professional assembly (such as case, leds, etc) If Yiazo can be competitive, I will buy

Ditto. Get the price in line with other offerings and I will probably be interested as well.
