102  Other / Meta / My list of merit abusers - Found in only 1 hour on: March 27, 2018, 06:00:43 PM
As mentioned here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3196303.msg33150899#msg33150899 , I said that I will give an hours to find merit abusers. Here are some more suspects:

Group 1

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1121773
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=493181

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1121773  got 10 merit points from second profile today for this post : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1318106.msg33299453#msg33299453

He needed 10 more merits points for higher pay in the campaign he is participating. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3174841.0

Group 2

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1421389
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=151256

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1421389 received most of his merits from https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=151256 on different pots. Same user meriting the same member on different posts. Language is different so, I cannot judge the content.

Group 3
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1323511
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=882355

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=882355 is already tagged and he is growing his other accounts like https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1323511

Group 4
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1146986
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1022170

Merits sent to each other, are using the same signature and also have approx same last activity.

That is all for this post.
103  Other / Meta / Re: Are these members merit sources or what they're doing is OK? on: March 26, 2018, 06:29:53 PM
If these members are not violating any rules (like creating these threads just to send merit to alts), it is fine in my opinion. Senior members might not have much time to go through all the posts made in different sections. At such, it is a nice idea to spend their merits this way. I have heard some members saying here that admin might start decaying of unused merits to prevent hoarding of merits. So it is better if these merits are distributed with the help of such threads.
104  Other / Off-topic / Re: 😎 [ANN] The Utmost Epic, Totally Tubular sMerit Giveaway ~ 170 sM Available 😎 on: March 26, 2018, 06:25:45 PM
I would like to apply :

If we see the activity here, carefully,  a lot of members are involved in merit abuse at small scale as well. I was checking recently merited posts and came across one such case.

Profiles involved:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1100353
His merit summary : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=merit;u=1100353

He gave and receive merits from the profile: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1100122

Both the profile are registered on August 08, 2017

Other profile that may be involved

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1501634
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1501624

Both these registered on December 23, 2017

Many profiles may be involved. I am sure that if I give just one hour on this, I can point out at least 100 such more profiles.

it is actions such that deprive newbies (who honestly make valid contributions) from gaining merits, the merit system should be improved upon to make it fairer especially to new comers

Yes, we are  missing an important point related to merit abuse. It is good that genuine members are giving their time to find out remembers abusing the merit system and then reporting it but what about:

1) The merits which got wasted in the whole process. Is there anything being done to compensate for those merit points ? I am sure that the admin must have thought about creating a system in accordance with the number of merits required to be in circulation. Did he consider these abuses cases while panning that ?

2) Why not have some restriction related to the maximum number of merits allowed per post ?

Thanks for your time.
105  Other / Meta / Re: a tutorial section for bitcoin and altcoins on: March 25, 2018, 05:25:48 PM
first of all, i really like this forum and think it is really great. but, i have a suggestion. as the title says, why not making a tutorial section for bitcoins and altcoins?

there people can post tutorials, to make it for newbies easier to join the crypto world. maybe how the software works, how to update it and so on or tutorials for altcoin platforms.

what people think about this? sorry for my bad english, it's not my first language.

This is a good suggestion in my opinion and will also help this forum to get rid of same repetitive questions again and again. However, I do not think that the staff here has the time to make such thread. All members can join together and compile different parts of the tutorial. For instance, one member can list the precautions to take while choosing an exchange for buying bitcoins, one can write about keeping your bitcoins safe and so on. If such a thread is made, I would like to be a part of it.
106  Other / Meta / Re: Bitcointalk Running Cloudflare on: March 25, 2018, 05:20:44 PM
This might be required for securing the forum from hackers. One big problem I experience with this is sometimes while making a post here, page refreshes because of cloudfare. This results in all content written till then getting removed. Is there any solution to this problem ? Can we have some other alternative to this security measure which does not cause any trouble while making a post here ?
107  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Bitcoin collapse after 21 million coins are mined? on: March 25, 2018, 05:17:42 PM
Bitcoin has a limit to the number of tokens it will release. That number is hard-coded at 21 million. The estimated date of Bitcoin issuing its last coin is believed to be in the year 2140. No one can predict what will happen at that point, but miners will always earn some profit from transaction fees. Plus, users of the blockchain and the Bitcoins themselves will be incentivized to protect the network, because if mining stops, Bitcoins become vulnerable and so does the data that has been locked into the blockchain.

Do you really need to worry about things that will happen  after your death ? 2140 is really very far and bitcoins might not be able to survive by then. If you are still interested in the answer, if bitcoins survived till the last coin was mined, it will be because it becomes a commonly used payment option. And in that case, I see the demand only increasing more in future. Since the supply will reduce as no more mining is done, prices will move up faster.
108  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Another way to earn money in bitcoin on: March 25, 2018, 05:12:15 PM
Usually to earn bitcoin you have to invest capital. But there are also different ways for you to earn bitcoin. You can buy diggers for bitcoin mining. Or join the signature campaign,

The method you suggested in last should be put in first. I will say that signature campaigns are the best way for people to earn some bitcoins. I call it the best option as it does not involve any monetary investment. One can join these campaigns for free and get some bitcoins by making useful posts here. One you earn some bitcoins and also see the value of your bitcoins growing, you can start trading. Trading can result in higher returns and you can then also diversify into some alt coins.
109  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum could be the next Bitcoin by its price? on: March 25, 2018, 05:06:52 PM
As we see the ethereum price is getting low and low every day. It was same thing happen with the Bitcoin in the past then it has reached where it is right now. Will we see the ethereum competing with bitcoin in the coming one year?

If you mean that ethereum will touch the price of bitcoins ($10000), this is going to take some years in my opinion. You should consider that all the new investors start with bitcoins only. When someone starts searching about crypto, his first query is about bitcoin only. Also, there are various other alt coins capable of giving better returns in comparison to ethereum. I am not saying that ethereum does not have any potential but it is just that I do not see it touching $10000 mark any soon.
110  Other / Meta / Re: Merit & new rank requirements on: March 25, 2018, 05:01:24 PM
admin why i cant send merit to any one

This is because you do not have one to give currently. You get 1 smerit for every two merits you receive. Once you get those two merits, you will see 1 smerit in your profile. Then you can give that smerit to another member. Go through all the responses in this official thread and all you doubts regarding the merit system will go away. All the best.

112  Other / Meta / Re: A good way to obtain merit points on: March 25, 2018, 04:55:04 PM
I think the only way to get merits are contributing in this forum and spreading useful information to the other users. Commenting senseful posts in the forum.

Yes, the focus should be on giving the information being asked here. Instead of posting the weekly limit or certain number of word accounts, you should address the problem being asked by the OP. If one sentence is sufficient , there is no need to make a lengthy answer. I know that a lot of readers will get impressed with long lists and all but the merit sources wil surely not fall for such tactics in my opinion.
113  Other / Meta / Is majority doing merit abuse here ? on: March 25, 2018, 04:49:04 PM

114  Other / Meta / Re: My List of Merit Abusers on: March 25, 2018, 04:41:15 PM
What a waste of time.
Its not a waste of time, this is to penalize those farmers abusing the forum.
And to kick them away from here by getting their red marks and also to clean up the forum from those 1 user with hundreds of accounts.

Yeah, thank you you are a hero.

Actually not, you are an idiot trying to get some merit with this way.

If a member gets merit for pointing out the abuse of merit system, it is justified in my opinion. Merits are to be given for helpful or constructive posts and these type of posts do help in eliminating the spammers from this forum.

We should always encourage such behavior at it will set a good example for other new members to follow. If all the members here make use of options like "Report to moderator" or post suspicious activity in the forum, it will make the work of moderators easy here. If the forum gets free of these spammers, it will gro faster benefiting all genuine members.
115  Other / Meta / Re: Merit & new rank requirements on: March 24, 2018, 10:57:28 AM
Finally I got that. I was searching this topic for hours !
Even If it'0s not clear how you give somebody a merit - and you have so few to give it away, members are not encouraged to give them away.

Who told you that the merits are few to give away. You need to read the responses in this thread carefully. New merits are being generated very month and they come from merit sources. As these merits are awarded to members, members also keeping getting some Smerits per month and we have the cycle getting repeated.

Now whether the merits being generated by merit sources is enough or not, we will see in coming months. Give this merit system some time and let all those abuse cases settle down.
116  Other / Meta / Re: TMAN'S guide to getting merit. on: March 24, 2018, 10:54:58 AM
Thanks for the useful guide here. I will also like to give one more suggestion to members here. It is good that the forum allows you to make money by participating in signature campaigns and posting quality content here. Thus,  if you have to improve your English for this, you can go for it. But never rely on this income alone. Have multiple sources of income. Best way to use this forum is by learning about crypto investment here and then using those strategies to actually trade crypto. There is huge money to be made there and the bounties are nowhere in comparison to that earnings.
117  Other / Meta / Re: why every day we must repeat the same q in this forum section it's booooring on: March 24, 2018, 10:50:50 AM
You are missing an important point here. All these repetitive questions are not being made a single member. These are posted by different members and it is obvious that every new investor will face some common problems before investing like:

1) Which exchange to choose for investing ?

2) Is it the right time to invest ?

3) Will bitcoin prices increase after my investment or not ?

Very few people want to make the effort to search the answers, most of the people want to be spoon fed and thus you see those questions here regularly.
118  Other / Meta / Re: How do I get merit? on: March 24, 2018, 10:44:04 AM
By doing quality posts you will get merit but you will have to be very lucky because all the quality posts dont get merited only few one

You seem to be confused like some other new members as well. There are some members here who have got more merits in comparison to their activity. This translates to more than 1 merit per post and thus you can say that all their posts got merited. Do you call this luck ? If you give them an opportunity on any other forum, they will be able to replicate the same results as many time you want. Now question is that do you have the dedication to improve to that standard ?
119  Other / Meta / Re: Clearly merit farming/trading is happening. on: March 24, 2018, 06:04:49 AM
Yes, it is happening for sure and the admins are also taking strong action such members. Op did a great job by starting this thread and members reporting such cases must be encouraged. They are spending their precious time in finding the members abusing the merit system. Also, if we some sort of mechanism to automatically detect these abuses cases, it will also save time of all the members. For instance, notification being sent to a staff if more than 20 merits are sent for a one liner or content length less than certain number of words.
120  Other / Meta / Re: Merit & new rank requirements on: March 24, 2018, 05:55:04 AM
Satoshi would ashamed if people just making money easily by spamming or shitposting or making FUD or making scam ICO. This is a forum not bitcoin itself, the owner of this forum has the right to make it centralized, and one thing is for sure, just because you joined this forum, Satoshi or this forum doesnt have the obligation to give you money, why would you mad because a forum can not give you money anymore because you can not get merit.

Lastly, what equality did you mention? Do you think people getting more money with all of his/her alt account with shitposting and cheating the signature or bounty are fair to people who only use 1 account and never cheat signature or bounty and contribute to forum while getting lesser? Please what equality do you mean? Id rather have a people with experience and proper manner on this forum in a hierarchy power rather than a lot of "equal" people you did mean.

This is a common issue with people dependent on an external website for their earnings. Members who are replying only on the income they get from signature campaigns here for their living are in extreme danger. Just one red trust or ban and all their earnings come to an end in a moment. That is why I always believe in replying sources you have better control on like won websites. There are multiple ways to advertise a website and thus you are safer with that approach.
