Hi there,

Is there any way to get around the long withdrawal time from Gox. Do they accept withdrawal any way except fiat or bank withdrawal.
I'm happy to withdraw any way if it reduces the wait time.

Thanks
Adam

ps. I'm sorry if this is in the wrong section of the forum.

Bump. Anyone have any advice?

You need 50 activity to start.

EDIT: Due to the great number of complaints about spam bots, we will be restricting the next round (Jan 17th onwards) to users with 50+ activity. Any posts you make while you are under 50 activity will not contribute to your total.

Sorry about that I thought it meant a post count of 50.

How do I increase the activity level other than posting or being online?

I don't know why people trade Bitcoin, but I guess most are curious of the potential future and I'm sure a lot of people just like me want to make a bit of $

I had came across affiliate marketing, which some people claim to be able to make a large amount of $$$

If you aren't aware of what affiliate marketing is, it is basically where you put links to websites like amazon then when someone goes through your link and purchases something you get a % commission, but it isn't as easy as that. You have to get decent web traffic to your website/ video or link to get people to use it to purchase items.

I understand not many people will make $$$ but I would like to make a little extra $ for the pocket.

Does anyone have any experience or any tips when it comes to affiliate marketing, as I could do with any advice, however small!

Many thanks
Adam

Like you said, if you aren't getting major traffic to your blog or website then don't expect to earn much, but it can't hurt to have it there.

Yeah, I have been looking for places where you actually create a new website and gain traffic.

There are a number of adverts like 'john has made $500,000 last month. You can do it too with our assistance by paying us $40 a month'

I don't want to pay into something like this as I know it is a scam so I thought it wouldn't hurt to ask the people here!

110  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: BTC Arbitage on: January 20, 2014, 08:26:35 AM
I don't think arbitrage has to be in USD for you to make a profit on the trading concept. For instance, take a look at bitcoinwisdom and see the price differences in BTC and LTC between the exchanges - the differences are quite noticeable.

Here's an arbitrage example that I plan on doing:
1. Buy BTC at Coinbase and move it to BTC-E.
2. At BTC-E, swap your BTC with LTC
3. Move LTC to another exchange like Crypto-Trade
4. At Cryto-Trade, swap LTC back to BTC
5. Move BTC back to BTC-E and repeat.

The goal is to slowly grow my BTC count, and then move back to Coinbase to cash out.

While I do this, I will be familiarizing myself with the commission fees and transfer fees for each exchange and calculate those fees into my equation. I'll also keep close attention to news at bitcointalk and coindesk about any troubles the exchanges might be having.

Only problem with your method is I calculated it and you wouldn't even make back your original amount put into coinbase. You would be a couple of $ short.

Check my signature

That is a good website but the usage is confusing!
112  Economy / Service Discussion / MT GOX withdrawl times (GBP) on: January 17, 2014, 04:22:44 PM
Hi there.

As I am sure you are aware Mt GOX are having major delays on the withdrawal of fiat  from the accounts.

I wasn't sure if British accounts or British Pounds withdrawals would be any different.

I would like to hear from someone who has used Mt Gox with GBP and if they have withdrawn money
  • How long Has it taken
  • How much did you withdraw

Thankyou
113  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Selling Bitcoin on EBay on: January 17, 2014, 03:30:08 PM
A lot of ebay sellers list btc/altcoins like this

Buy a pen get x amount of btc/altcoin free

That way when they send the pen in the mail with tracking paypal can not reverse the payment. Or at least that is the assumption.

Smart idea

116  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Selling Bitcoin on EBay on: January 16, 2014, 06:50:46 PM
Got one of my daily MC999 Listing policy violation alerts today from Fleabay when I saw this:

"Please know that per our recent policy update, Virtual currency (i.e. Bitcoin and Litecoin), whether digitally or physically delivered cannot be listed in Auction-style or Buy-It-Now listing formats. eBay is opening a Virtual Currency category to allow the sale of virtual currency in Classified Ads format on February 10, 2014. We request that you do not list these items until that date".

In a way that's good so they are doing something so people can sell Bitcoin.
117  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Selling Bitcoin on EBay on: January 12, 2014, 07:55:18 PM

Why doge and not Bitcoin I wonder?
118  Economy / Trading Discussion / Selling Bitcoin on EBay on: January 12, 2014, 06:14:40 PM
Hi there, if this is in the wrong forum mods please move it!

I understand there is the high risks with selling Bitcoin on EBay and people reversing the paypal transaction, but I can see that if you sell in small increments (0.01 or 0.001) you should be able to make a nice profit as long as there isn't too many scammers.

What would your thoughts be about selling on ebay?

The ideas that I had came up with to minimise scammers
1. Sell in small increments
2. Set minimum feedback or you get refunded

What do you think of this?

If you have any more tips about this please let me know!
119  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin spread trading on: December 23, 2013, 07:41:54 PM
On most exchanges the fee is typically too high to make any profits from trading the spread.

I understand but I still want to try
