The 13th match, in my opinion, is quite an interesting match to watch for the top clubs, Manchester City vs Liverpool, I think this match will end in a draw because both teams were in pretty good performance at the end of the previous match and the two teams below them Brentford vs Arsenal, if Arsenal can get full points, of course they will move up to first place in the standings with 30 points, Manchester City 29 and Tottenham vs Aston Villa, if Suprs can also get the winning points they will move up to 3rd place in the standings with the same points as City Just a difference in goal difference and Arsenal fell into 4th position.

City will be desperate and will be aiming to win the match for a change but Liverpool are not an easy opponent at all. Both are on 1st and 2nd on the table and it will be an exciting match to watch. On other hand for Arsenal, Brentford is not an easy opponent either. Brentford are a very tough underdog team and can really give a big team a good upset so Brentford really shouldn't be undermined here. It's a very tight competition between the clubs for the title race so far. Next few weeks will be crucial to determine who will go ahead and who will go far with title race.

He is really a player that fits Real Madrid's requirements for pacy and technically sound players perfectly. It is also important to keep in mind that several of the Real Madrid defenders are 30 years and older. It wouldn't be surprising if Real Madrid tries hard to sign Davies, but I think Bayern Munich did not forget that they made a mistake when they allowed Alaba to leave the club.

Well with Alaba he was getting old but the main factor was that Alaba wanted a change and Bayern had no option but to allow Alaba to leave. With Davies,if he wants to move then Bayern might have to accept it. But as of now I don't think there is any amount of discontent in Davies mind. Davies contract runs out on 2025 so possibly that Madrid will proceed in next summer transfer market window.

[...]. He is born and bred in the city, Liverpool is his team.

Besides £70,000,000 wouldn’t even buy his left leg Cheesy
No way he goes to Real Madrid and I would take bets on that.

Yeah Liverpool really promote their home bred players a lot and they really value them highly. They are not the kind of the team that develops a player and sell a player early.

Real Madrid is trying to find a replacement for Dani Carvajal.
Recently one important thing for Real Madrid has been to have a good right-back player for a long time and that's why they are trying to find a young player for it.
Trent Alexander-Arnold is the player they want to hire and Real Madrid is ready to pay 80 million euros for him.

Another name that has popped up with Real Madrid is Alphonso Davies. There is no doubt that Real Madrid always look for pacy players and Davies has a very good pace. Arnold is also a good option as right back but are Liverpool willing to let him go? And if yes then for how much? And is it worth it?

I like the way Real Madrid is making their targets in transfer market. They have invested a lot in attack and mid and has now shifted their focus in defence and that's how a club should set their strategy in transfer market.

Aston Villa will certainly be slightly favored in this match considering they are in good form and have a complete main squad when compared to Spurs. Indeed, the defeat against Chelsea with a landslide score was unforgivable and they suffered losses not only in points but also lost several players who had to miss the match against Aston Villa later. The competition will heat up considering that the difference is not that big and this will be the start of Spurs' revival or they will continue to have a bad trend. Meanwhile, for Aston Villa, this is a victory that they have to fight for, especially as the opportunity to play against a team that they have to eliminate from the top 4 is a must.
English Premier League have turn, the best competitive at the beginning of the season have turn out to become less competitive and settling for lesser results. Tottenham Hotspur vs Aston Villa after the international break, a game I will not afford to miss. Angelos Postecoglou will sort out means to win Unai Emery who have an outstanding fierce squad that are aiming to enter 4th position on the EPL table. The Lilywhites on the other hand have suffered critical injuries and playing top games without the presence of their important players, can they survive in the long run? Watching them record two defeats in a row.

Yeah definitely very heavy fixture after the international break as both teams are in form but Spurs definitely will be affected with injuries. It will be a tough job for Spurs to defend against Aston Villa but I feel like Spurs still have good chances to win the match. They have plenty of players like Son and Richarlison to put pressure on Aston Villa and score early goals.

Another heavy fixture will be between two title contenders: City and Liverpool. City have faced a massive upset with draw against Chelsea and certainly will be in lot of pressure. Liverpool on other hand will be looking to be consistent in the title run.

Losing a single match in the Premier League when you are leading the table can drop a team to the fourth because if you look at the top three in the Premier League table right now, you will see that the point difference between the first position and the second and third is just one point, while the points difference between the third and the fifth is just two points; this is indirectly telling you that If Manchester City lose one match, they can drop to the fifth place.

Tottenham have a very good start, they still have chance to compete for the title because they have good players, and their performance against big teams is not that bad, just that red card and injuries affected them.

This is what makes Premier League is the most exciting league in the world. Teams who wants to challenge for the title need to prepare in every aspect required for a long competition with many competitors who have same level of quality. A quality Squad Depth is one key for a team to win the league. Tottenham dont have this factor. when they lost their important players, their form drop instantly. with this situation they have, I dont think Tottenham will stay competing for the title. finishing top 4 is an achievement for them.

Yes squads depth is definitely the key to win the league. Without squad depth definitely run is gonna be a short one as the team can get into trouble if you are hit by injuries. Spurs do lack in some areas but the good thing is that their injured players will be back in January so not a big worry. Long term injuries would have affected them drastically though. The only thing they need to do is do their best until their players gets recovered.

Once again, Jamal Musiala the German player of Bayern Munich got injured and he can't play for him for a while.
In the match between Galatasaray and Bayern Munich, in the first half and after 39 minutes against Galatasaray, Jamal Musiala got injured and he couldn't continue the game.
During this season Bayern Munich had many injured players and it was challenging for Tuchel.

That's a worrying one for Bayern as Musiala is one of their key players and is a crucial piece in almost every attack. I think Tuchel will use Muller from here on but I think that is the last option at that position for Tuchel. He will then need to play someone else out of his usual position to compete in league and CL fixtures and that will really be a tough test for Tuchel. Hope that Musiala's injury is not a long one.

Yes indeed, Jamal Musiala is a young player who has great potential and of course, with the hamstring injury he is currently experiencing maybe have an impact on Bayern Munich's further performance as well. Because after all, Jamal Musiala is at least always included in the starting eleven and thus, Jamal Musiala has always contributed well to Bayern Munich in every match so far. Therefore, losing Jamal Musiala maybe make it difficult for Tuchel to rotate the right players, considering Bayern Munich still have to consistently get three points in each match if they don't want to be left behind by Bayer Leverkusen at the top of the current Bundesliga standings.

Yes he is a key player and Muller is getting old so naturally Bayern needs someone fresh player and Musiala have been starting games for Bayern and has been getting used to it. I think Bayern needs a bit of depth at second striker or and attacking midfielder option. Anyway according to https://twitter.com/iMiaSanMia/status/1722648503380230484, Musiala's return is to be expected around this month's end so not a big worry for Bayern.

Today I saw this news:

𝐁𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐊𝐈𝐍𝐆: Diego Simeone signs new long term deal at Atlético Madrid until June 2027

source: https://www.instagram.com/p/Czb1WJ8oC0f/

 Grin Grin

Man, I keep asking myself: could it be that Atletico Madrid are doing as well as they currently are to the point that management isn't thinking about other coaches? because in my opinion I don't see atlético madrid fighting for the title this season, and it's true that they are not very far from other top teams like real madrid and barcela, but even so looking at how atlético madrid has been in the last few years, I don't think things will be any different for them in the league this season. The most likely that Atletico will achieve it will be a place in European competitions.

And speaking of European competitions, they are at the top of the table in their group in the European Champions League, but the difference in points with second place is only 1 point. They haven't lost in any game in the European Champions League, with 2 draws and 2 wins, they are doing well so far. But even so, this is still a group stage, and there is still no guaranteed passage to the next stage, so I don't understand why the management extended his contract for many more years? It's something difficult to understand, in any case, he will probably retire at Atlético Madrid, because I highly doubt he will leave Atletico after his contract ends.

Not a surprising one as Simeone has been giving him the results that Atletico board wants. I feel Atletico target isn't is to win LaLiga everytime. They are the patient ones unlike most of the clubs who gets impatient and try to move to a change. Yeah Simeone is an unique manager with his tactics and all  but so far he has delivered Atletico from time to time. Atletico board trusts him and Simeone also feels the same way with Atletico so I think this will go on for long. For others this might be wierd but Atletico's board has huge confidence in Simeone.

The top of the EPL standings this season will become clear as the season progresses. Man City, Tottenham, Liverpool and Arsenal are the four strongest teams in the title race. These four teams benefited from the inconsistency of two other elite clubs, Chelsea and Man United. However, it is possible that The Red Devils and The Blues will become stumbling blocks for the leaders in the upcoming matches.

Take in Aston Villa and Newcastle too as they have been playing some good football also. Aston Villa had a pretty much consistent run in between and they really have defeat some heavy teams so far. Newcastle also are a strong performer. Brighton under de Zerbi also are another team who can chime in the top positions of the table. I think if someone (out of these teams) manages a decent enough of consistency then they will be able to perform on the top position of the table also.

Antony, Mount, onana, these players are so garbage.
There is no successful transfer happened in manchester united and i think that MU will be also doing another mistake. The club is willing to buy another inexperienced player again from the different league.
Erik Ten Hag is not trying as expected, because if he's eligible to handle Manchester United, we won't watch these players struggling and facing fatigue on the pitch. Mason Mount and André Onana is in their first season, they needs more time to adapt to the system and they came during the poor season of the club. But looking at Anthony, one of the big flops in Manchester United and was signed with gigantic figures from Ajax, only for the Red Devils to witnessed his poor stats in games. Anthony is not helping matters at the moment. Manchester United made wrong signings that have caused a tremendous declined in performances.
They have a poor history of transferring plyers and in recent seasons, we've seen them do that. And even they do it when it comes to appointing a coach, how many coaches have Manchester United brought in so far, and how many of them can be said to be "sucessful" (maybe we can start from Fergi's departure). Jose Mourinho is probably one of those who can be said to be successful, although his success is not that glamorous, but it can still be better than other coaches. I don't think the management is serious about managing this club.

They have become really poor at selecting players or coaches. I think the last time they really made some sensible signings was at the time of Ferguson. They had really legends way back then and dominated in English league but right now everything has gotten out of order for them. There is also some issues with management and players which is also affecting them. It's just chaos at United.

All the teams have close points to each other now,we will wait till January to see the team that will be more favourite to lift the EPL trophy this season.
I quite agree with you the gaps between them are just small, it going to be difficult for someone to decide so so club will lift the trophy, for instance Manchester City that is on the top of the table are leading the second with just a point while third place and fourth place had the same point which are just left behind with two points between them and second place and right now the top four on the table are all in form which am expecting one of them to be champion.

I feel that there will be a slight gap and not much big amount of gap between the teams. There is 1-2 points gap on average between all the top teams and I think even by January beginning this will hardly change. I think by March or February it will start to get clear slowly. All the teams have been fantastic so far and only some injuries can drag some teams back from the race. Most likely that after international break things we might be able to see some table changes.

Interesting one but I think we are pretty balanced right now and we need the depth in squad. I wonder who those four players are as I think it is likely that they are not some crucial players and selling them won't realise big money to put into for acquiring Ivan Toney. I think Brentford easily would be looking to realise around 60-70m out of Ivan Toney's sale and that too after rounds of negotiation. Toney is a tough one but I think if Arsenal really wants him then they would really push for him also.
I guess: Ramsdale, Elneny, Soares and Nketiah. Elney and Soares are useless players, while Ramsdale he's a good goalkeeper, but Arteta is more interested to Raya. Ramsdale on the other hands should want to play instead of stay in bench. Nketiah, this player is usually bad perform and it's better to sell him than Jesus, it's too much to keep 3 strikers.

Ramsdale is still an option but given now Raya and Ramsdale both actually looking for first team chances I think Ramsdale might get sold if things keeps on going like this. Nketiah is a good talent and he has lot of room for improvement. We recently also sold Balogun who also was a great talent so now wouldn't like to lose another one. Yeah there is lot of pressure but he needs time to improve. Rest of the names should be on the next transfer market.

Reportedly Mikel Arteta plans to sell four of his players so he can get additional funds to bring in Ivan Toney from Brentford. So far there is still no clear information regarding the names of the players who will be on the sales list and I think this could be a good thing or a bad thing. To be more precise, Mikel Arteta seems to be betting on getting Ivan Toney, who obviously hasn't played for Brentford this season due to a gambling problem which resulted in him being banned from playing.

On the other hand, if Arsenal no longer needed the services of some of its players then that would be a good thing financially and could also save the players' previous salary budget. I'm quite curious about how much Brentford wants so that Mikel Arteta has to sell his players.

I wonder who those four players are as I think it is likely that they are not some crucial players and selling them won't realise big money to put into for acquiring Ivan Toney. With the defeat they suffered against Shakhtar, Barcelona will now have to work harder to secure their spot and qualify from this group stage. They have 9 points, the same as Porto. But Shakhtar are catching up with the 6 points they have accumulated from 4 matches. The points Barcelona have now are not really enough to make them safe.
It is a problem if in the next match they get an unsatisfactory result. I thought they would be safe after this 4th match, because before I predicted they would win, but what happened was not what was expected.

I think they are not in that much of a difficult position in CL despite the defeat. They just need a win to secure the spot in my opinion. Barcelona and Porto are on 9 and as you said Shakhtar is also closing up but Barcelona and Porto both have huge goal difference as compared to Shakhtar's so as long as Shakhtar doesn't wins their fixtures with Porto and Antwerp with huge difference I don't think it's a worrying situation but that too considering that Barcelona wins at least one. They will easily qualify, Shakhtar were a bit lucky and defended well throughout the end but apart from that Barca has the quality and I think they will easily advance to next stage from their CL group.

[snip...]

It seems that Jurgen Kloop can no longer trust Thiago Alcantara's performance and therefore last season they recruited Mac Allister, Dominik Szoboszlai, and even Ryan Gravenberch. It looks like it's time for Thiago Alcantara to leave Anfield and at least his services are still needed at other clubs rather than just sitting on the bench for the season.

It's not about trusting Alcantara. Thiago is a very good and experienced midfielder but right now he is not a first team option for Klopp as he is getting old and quite injury prone and Liverpool can't work without a main player for long as we saw last season how they suffered without players. It was evident that they had to make a signing in order to compete at the top level. I feel that the time has come to Liverpool for him as there are lot of better midfield options for Klopp on which he can rely more in the game. Possible that he might feature in one or two but I feel that there will still be some discontent in Thiago's mind with lack of playing chances.

Bros, there are some things I do not bother myself about and one of them is the case of Newcastle in the UCL. The club performed so nicely last season which earned them the qualification for the tournament, still, my plight then which people did not see coming was whether they would be able to perform well in the Champions League judging by the ferocious nature of the contesters in football. This is not playing, this is the League of Champions and if you get to qualify by luck, it would be obvious on the pitch and you might have come to even make a fool of yourself. This is what is happening to Newcastle and I don't possibly know how they would have won Dortmund yesterday. It's even the Dortmund I blamed for wasting many chances to have scored more goals. It's obvious lapses I believe their strikers should work on.

I feel the way they performed last season, they at least should be able to advance to the next stage but their group is a very difficult one. All the teams in that group whether it be PSG, AC Milan or Dortmund, all have the capability to move to the next stage. I feel the sharpness that Newcastle have is lacking a bit when facing in CL. Not sure what's going on but I feel that Newcastle can do a lot better than what they are doing right now in CL matches. Of course, CL matches will be much more difficult but Newcastle also should have been ready because they are not in an easy group from the start.
117  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: November 08, 2023, 02:50:15 PM
Newcastle need to learn how to play in Europe, I think they are sound in the English premier league but in Europe they are still trying to find their play.
Newcastle against Dortmund yesterday was a very poor performance from Newcastle especially in the first half, and Dortmund is not in the best form.
I think Newcastle were playing too safe and it worked against them, second half was a bit better but still it was poor compared to what they can do, they have now made it very difficult for themselves to qualify from the group.
I don't feel they are bad in Europe actually in this especially when they managed to draw Milan and win against PSG it has been one of the very good performance improvements for Newcastle at this time. It's just that with their situation in this hell group it looks even more complicated for them because after all they are one of the debutant clubs and must be faced with a Champions League subscription club and even one of the clubs that is always a favorite for the Champions League like PSG, obviously this is troublesome for Newcastle.
But so far I don't consider them bad because their steps in complicating big clubs like Milan, Dortmund and PSG are worth appreciating.

I think Newcastle's group is one of the difficult group and it is very hard for Newcastle right now to make their way  to the next stage. CL games always tends to be a surprising one as everyone wants to champions of Europe. Dortmund really were the better team yesterday as they managed to keep on finding chances and scored two goals. Newcastle however seemed kinda bit out of shape and not their usual performance as they show in PL games. It is tough to play PL and CL games within 2-3 days so that's another factor too. Still Newcastle should try to play strong and try to advance to next stage at least.
118  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: November 08, 2023, 03:51:45 AM
Nicolas Jackson is capable but slow or maybe he hasn’t find the right partnership. Should we say Chris Nkunku will be a better partner for the front man when ge returns or will we still see the slow Jackson? I think Poch should do something real quick about the situation because top 4 hopes might look dim but could be brought alive if the team is in good shape and form.
Chris Nkumku will return from his knee injury in the second week of November and start playing for the Chelsea squad in the same manner that he did in the team's preseason games.
For the Start, Nkunku and Jackson will be playing separately in  matches until the best-performed player takes the front position.
Pochettino has plenty of work to do in utilizing the Chelsea player in terms of finishing and their defense to achieve the goal of reaching the top 4 spot this season

I think its a great news for Chelsea as they do need a good striker to score goals and Nkunku is really someone that Chelsea needs right now. It will be tough for manager to manage between Nkunku and Jackson but I feel Nkunku is the better choice and has good finishing as compared to Jackson. I don't think that Pochettino will roll both out in the starting lineup when he joins the squad back from injury, it will be either one of them. Nkunku is also a better team player and can really drop down a bit to assist on the wings, kinda like what Kane used to do at Spurs. Secondly he is very much adaptable to other positions so Pochettino can really find it helpful while switching to some other tactics inside the game.

The first defeat experienced by Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League this season was very painful, because the defeat occurred at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, which is Tottenham's headquarters, this defeat also made Tottenham lose their place at the top of the standings. This match was fierce and full of drama throughout the match. There were five disallowed goals, two red cards and 7 yellow cards issued by the referee.

I knew that Spurs unbeaten run will get broke soon and so it did with Chelsea defeating Spurs 4-1 yesterday. I however expected Spurs to face defeat while facing some big sides like City but Chelsea were really exceptional yesterday. Spurs started really well yesterday but I feel that the red cards for Spurs were the turning point. It's very tough for a team to play with 2 less man against a decent club. Spurs still kinda held the blues for a while but gave it in the end. Jackson had a good game scoring hat-trick for Chelsea but situation won't be easy in next matches like it did in this match so Chelsea still has to do a lot in order to climb up the table.

Arsenal were unlucky to have that conceded goal against Newcastle United even VAR engaged in analysis before the referee made his decision to accept the goal for Newcastle United. It is a controversial situation and I believe it is not a goal but the match ended, VAR and referee made a wrong decision which can not be changed.

Even with VAR, mistakes can be made and I really dislike VAR. I love the traditional style without VAR because it makes matches more emotional without long breaking time for VAR checking.

I believe that yes that was bit unlucky for Arsenal but we need to move on. Arteta ranting about it in post conference or us having an opinion won't change that decision. We need to move on and try to score as much as goals as possible and as early as possible in the game. Newcastle were tough to break but I think given our quality in the squad , we also had to score some goals early. VAR is a very bad introduction to the world of football but now we can't change it. Having any kinds of opinion from coaches or staffs won't change it either.
