It totally depends on you, but my advise is to go altcoin and you must have some bitcoins, hold bitcoin for longterm purpose, and altcoin for short term, both will reward you better return.

FREE JUNK IS STILL JUNK! There are some limits to airdrops. Occasionally, scams will pose as airdrops. These are typically easy to spot, as they’ll ask for your private keys or ask you to send funds to unknown wallets. Some airdrops have the best intentions, but free junk is still junk. Many coins that are airdropping will be worthless long term.

Many people suggested the process of earning from airdrop so in addition I summarize for you some tips to stay safe: #Create a new e-mail address for Airdrops or use one where you have nothing important on it. #Note all your informations on a paper : Username / Ethereum address / ID / Private key and keep it safe ! #Never give your private key to somebody (Some Airdrops ask for private key : they are scams) #Be careful about the airdrops who have their own wallet, you will have to download it (Who knows what you are downloading) #Some airdrops ask for paying them a little amount (often 0.001 ETH). They are not airdrops ! Airdrop is always free.

As I said before, the ones I believe will rise are Ripple, Litecoin, and NEO. It’s not like all the others don’t stand a chance and, of course, I can be wrong. But, ripple had an incredible year and it definitely grew the fastest of all cryptocurrencies. Litecoin also had a decent year in terms of rising and performance. It has great features and it’s considered as an alternative to Bitcoin since it can fix problems that the original Bitcoin protocol had. Last, NEO is believed to be among the top most secure cryptocurrencies because it is running its own blockchain. This is why NEO got so much attention and its price doubled.

I trade in cryptopia. Just a few months ago I started cryptopia, it's easy and I'm not dizzy so much, I'm slowly trading in Hitbtc and Bittrex, and using analysis tools. I like Hodl just crypto-coins very trustworthy. Always in crypto-currency you have to invest and do trading, and be aware that you can lose some money.

I think, it will not be a good investment to put anything on ripple, there are many good coins out there which have got good ideas and projects on which they are working. for example- IOTA, ADA, EOS, NAS etc. You can do research about them.
