Anncoin should be more user friendly
What should be done to make the coin easier to use:
1. Build-in CPU and GPU miner (Pass parameters to sgminer/cpuminer over anoncoin interface?) 2. There should be a buttons to reset configuration and redownload blocks, with proper cautions and a infromations about it 3. Build in I2P without installing it separately would be great 4. Add at start a proposition to secure wallet with password 5. Add "Dont show again" in caution boxes
+1 Glad to hear 3 is in the works.

While btc wallows around, the alts are weak too, even thought their values are pegged to btc and not to usd. Notice that the stock market is rising, as well as silver and gold. Could it be that the timid money has headed for the exits and that people have stashed their cash back in traditional investments? I think that with alts at lows, this is a great time to put btcs into promising alts and wait for the tide to rise again.

This should cause a *major* jump in ANC value!!! But seriously, get ANC/Zerocoin working and ANC will pump itself up just for its utility.

Can someone explain for the non-programmers/non-cryptographers what is the difference between Anoncoin and Darkcoin, please?
Darkcoin plans to use "CoinJoin": https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=279249.0Anoncoin plans to use Zerocoin: http://zerocoin.org/I'm not sure on which is more anonymous.. I think we should start a debate thread perhaps. Yes, please. That would be an interesting read. I can't find a coin named darkcoin. Just a preannounce. Anyway, Anoncoin plans both. Including i2pd built-in. So, just to be clear.... Anoncoin is going to go forward with protocols to protect privacy rather than create another digital coin to do so, right?

Does anyone know what is going on with the mining pool www.anoncoinpool.net? They've been down for a day and a half with no info... http://anon.cryptcoins.net ^^^ has been inconsistent as well. This pool however, seems to be very, very lucky, and I've had great results for most of a week: anc.fusionhash.com

AnonCoin seems to be interesting. I'll look into it. Do you think it could be a successful coin?
I think it almost has to be, as long as the devs stick with it and follow through. It's five times as rare as bitcoin, and has the potential to restore privacy in online purchases. I expect ANC to be more valuable than BTC in the long term. Hang on to your ANCs!

In fact, the site is no longer updating worker or pool stats.... problem? The support button on the site gets me a 404 error.

Was that a 1.5 mil FFC dump last night?
It interesting that most of the coins I am watching experienced a rally this week.
It looks like a lot of people are using the opportunity to get out maybe?
That should be good for the rest of us in the long run.

So, what this coin needs is an app to enable secure device-to-device trading, possibly with a full time server to facilitate the trades. This way FFC could be used at scifi conventions and even costuming and gaming stores.
We need to focus on a market and develop a service for that market.
Yes, a newly designed website could be crucial to the appeal and usefulness of the coin- and a hub for the community which just might form around FFC.
Don't lose heart yet, Jude. I can imagine a future where you tell an interviewer the story of how you just meant the project to be a fun, short term experiment which blew up into a fantastic opportunity.

I have a really small mining setup (yesterday I got 4 asic chips and now I'm up to 2+Gh/s), and I've only mined about 600 coins (and sold none of them), but if I can, I'd like to help.
You have a lot of potential here and it would be a shame to see it die.
What do you need? What is your vision?

In over two months this error is sill in the github sources ... why ? And why doesn't the dev at least change all the references to bitcoin to his own fireflycoin ? [/quote]
Yeah, I think a lot of folks are waiting to see whether the dev takes his own coin seriously.
It's a cool concept, great logo & fantastic potential support in the scifi community, but it needs a little more work to be solid.

I think that if the pool were working properly you'd have a lot more interest.
It's good to see that I'm not the only one having trouble with the main pool- that is to say that now I know the problem isn't on my end only.
I think it would be better to take it down than have such an unprofessional introduction to FFC.

198.199.100.216 is a VPS I setup with a number of coin clients FFC has been added so you can use it as a node.
it's up 24/7
Where is a good place to read about nodes?.... newbie here. Thanks. A node is just another client running that your wallet connects to to share block information. Anytime a wallet is running it is acting as a node unless specified otherwise. The problem is the main node didn't get hardcoded into the client and it doesn't automatically connect to the main node to get data. So you have to give it a little bump to get going by running "addnode fireflycoin.com onetry" in the console then it starts downloading the blocks. I'm all set there from where you posted it earlier. In fact, a couple of nights ago I mined like crazy, getting 164 coins, but then at 17:10 I got my last deposit into the wallet. 7 or 8 hours of mining later, not anther coin. Since then, I've been on the iSpace FFC pool. Is the node mentioned above something I use as a setting in the wallet for backup?

Mining the fireflycoin.com pool into my wallet last night, I stopped getting deposits at 17:10 yesterday. Mined for at least 8 or 9 hours after that overnight.
Is there a problem with the pool?
I guess that I'll know all is fine again when my wallet catches up with all of last night's mining? Until then I'll mine ispace... Hey sorry, I missed your post. What address were you using for username? What is your hash rate? It could be from the massive difficulty jump, I am not sure. I will look into it for you tho. Sorry for the delayed response. -u FdLwnp7KTwphCHF72Unc4HA15F8pvaqXP2 about 1 Gh/s I'd really like to get back to mining the fireflycoin.com pool. Thanks.

My username is my wallet address. I was cranking right about 1Gh/s. No problem for the delay, and thanks for your response. I'm mining fine at iSpace's pool<----- I mention that in case it helps to know that I'm ok mining in general. Do you need the address that I was mining into?

Could always use iSpace Mining FireFlyCoin Pool as a backup - http://ffc.ispace.co.uk Yes, indeed. It's working fine right now.
