For anyone hoping to buy even lower.... It seems to be a very difficult task.

iXcoin appears to be trending slightly up again over the last ten days.  Hopefully it's the start of a larger move.

i have learned a lot from studying the merged mining parts of the code and if regulation comes into play in the world of crypto iX
has one thing very few other coins have or maybe no other coins have.......

there is no mining, that can be taken out of the picture.......

Very good point.  I never thought of that.  So if some regulation or tax laws came down which put the squeeze on miners to the point that many dropped out (in those countries), then iXcoin may be exempt because there is no more block reward.  Few other coins could say that.  Of course that assumes transaction fees collected by miners would be regulated differently than block rewards.   If not, then iXcoin would still be hit by the same regulation.

One scenario would be if block rewards were deemed un-lawful because they are money creation events, usually reserved for governments.  There was much speculation about this when Bitcoin first came on the scene.  Transaction fees would be exempt since they are taken from the existing money supply.   This scenario may be a bit of stretch since governments would probably be more likely to just forbid cryptos all together, but perhaps they will just want to restrict thousands of new ones from coming into existence, while keeping the existing ones.   Or they may just want to restrict the total crypto money supply.   Lot's of possible scenarios.

I can't find any connection with any version of the wallet. Has anyone some nodes for me.

Thanks a lot

Either version should work if you're not mining.  If mining then 0.8.6 is the most tested.

Version 0.8.6

Just a quick status update on the fund raiser [attempt] for the Bitcoin event trip.

So far only JohnnyBTCseed with $100 and Kraizi with .5 BTC have donated to the fund.

So at this rate it looks like I will have to go with the Miami event in January.  That gives us a little more time to raise the money and hopefully if Bitcoin and iXCoin go up in value I will pay considerably more out of my pocket for the trip.

Hopefully the Bitcoin ETF happens this month the way I've been expecting - I think that would change everything and money wouldn't be so tight.

Thanks a lot to Johnny and Kraizi for your commitment and donations.

Cheers!

@Vlad:  I just sent .6 BTC to your address today.  I don't know who sent the .5 BTC earlier.

106  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: One letter currency symbol for iXcoin. on: November 09, 2014, 08:17:30 PM
I would go with the "I" with the two slashes.  It's been used since the beginning on ixcoin.org.  CEX.io uses it.  It's already established so to prevent confusion I vote to keep using it.

We really need to get someone to the next big Bitcoin event to talk to all these partners in real life.

I can only do so much on twitter and social media.

I can take time off work which will be unpaid but I simply cannot afford the whole trip.  I have done fund raisers for code updates with great success so why not try a fund raiser to help us get the right partners and to help get our name and identity out there with all the huge investors.

In a few weeks there will be another big Bitcoin event in Europe I believe.

Can I get a vote to see how many people would be willing to pitch in for this bounty?

Thanks!

Great news Vlad.  I'll pledge at least .5 BTC for your trip.

108  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ixcoin TODO on: November 02, 2014, 03:21:36 AM

I wanna thank m00x! for the sign of cooperation and friendship I0coin community is showing toward iXcoin.

Please m00x!, announce your initiative.

Thanks

The I0coin community recently set up a faucet for itself, and in the interest of cooperation we also set one up for ixcoin.  You will find it here.

http://www.cryptoblox.com/faucets/iXcoin/

The webmaster claims there are about 1.5 million page views per month on this site, so it should give both coins some good exposure.  We loaded the faucet with 200 IXC.  'Drip Rate' is how often the same person can get a payout and is set to 24 hours.  We set the Payout fairly low at .01 to .1 IXC to keep the faucet going fairly cheaply.  If you want to boost it at some time just contact the webmaster at support@cryptoblox.com.  Hopefully, the ixcoin community can keep the balance going from here on out.

How do I donate to the faucet?

Great, finally a proper faucet.  Almost 300 payouts already.  Let's spread the wealth a bit and get more iXcoiners enrolled!  Don't mind the price taking a beating lately.  We're on the right track.

109  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ixcoin TODO on: October 30, 2014, 03:39:30 AM
This coin seems to have persevered for quite some time now. I'm keeping an eye on it, but what exactly does this coin have to offer that other coins don't?

S E C U R I T Y.  I know you weren't looking for that answer.  You want unique features, but they are useless if you don't have enough network hash power to protect the block chain.  iXcoin is one of the few coins which even approaches Bitcoin on this, with about 50% of its hash rate.

Yeh, I know, iXcoin has no block reward so what if pools stop mining.  Pools understand they need to protect their investments.  Some have been mining for 3.5 years!  So why would any want to dump a super secure block chain they already have and hope for a new one to come along.  That's why I think it's unlikely for pools to dump iXcoin.  Besides, transaction volume is on the rise and iXcoin has a growing development team.

The real money is not short term mining and dumping, then on to the next coin.  It's building a strong crypto currency and a community around it.  It's years of investment in the same coin to let it grow into its own economy.  iXcoin is on its way.  If you want to jump in the price is right at the moment, but it won't stay down forever.
110  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ixcoin TODO on: October 30, 2014, 01:25:59 AM

I'm still impressed with the volume on ixco.in which is about 54,000 IXC over the last 24hrs compared to about 22,000 IXC on Cryptsy, and 76,000 IXC on CEX.io.  For a new exchange with only one trading pair it has very good activity.  It's almost like there's been a secret society of iXcoin holders hiding out in Asia and their coming to life.

That's interesting indeed.   That's good volume.

Today IXCo.in 24 hour volume is exceeding all other exchanges combined, and it's 50% higher than CEX.io.

IXCo.in      120,093 IXC
CEX.io        81,131 IXC
Cryptsy      15,430 IXC
Vircurex      6,028  IXC

Got home from work and looked at the price and I can't believe it's still going down.

Looking at the trades all I've gotta say is we've got a real pro gaming ixCoin right now.

Props to you - hope you buy your IXC soon cause many things are gonna start happening soon.

Cheers!

I'm not worried about the sell off.  IXC went up pretty fast so it was overbought short term.  It will be back up soon.

113  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ixcoin TODO on: October 25, 2014, 07:20:33 AM

I've been checking out the ixco.in website.  Volume is very good for a new exchange, over 100,000 IXC in the last 24 hours (if I'm reading it correctly).  The exchange is clean, simple and responsive.  As members of the iXcoin community I think we should try to support them.  We should all have accounts, even if it's not your primary exchange.  They are doing more than just run an exchange for iXcoin.  They're doing iXcoin development too, the Electrum wallet as a start and hopefully much more.  The least we can do is give them some business.

what about a signature campaign to advertise ixcoin that way?

Explain what this is.

oh, paying people to have an ixcoin signature ( see what I just put in my signature? something like that, but prettier )

Sounds like a question for the foundation to answer.  Any advertisement is good in my opinion.

Will be interesting to see if the pools that are merge mining IXC bother to keep doing it with no reward.  There is also the risk that if one with a large amount of hash decided to stop it suddenly then you end up with very slow blocks because I think the adjustment is 2016 blocks like bitcoin.

Another doubter?

I think pools realize the end game for most cryptos is no block reward.   So they need a long term strategy.  Most cryptos still don't have much transaction revenue.  Supporting iXcoin is an investment and there's no guarentee another coin could reach iXcoin's position of security, support and market cap.  So there's a risk to drop iXcoin hoping for another to come along.  Besides, iXcoin is merge mined.  There's very little cost to keep mining.

The coins that have block rewards which continue to infinity have a different problem... inflation.
117  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ixcoin TODO on: October 24, 2014, 05:52:14 AM

Well.... why don't you submit an article to one of the news outlets?

Man, I've tried numerous times and I even regularly chat with some pretty important people in the crypto media space, like Perianne Boring.

But they all run away scared from IXC like its Ebola.  So weird given they write stories about total dead end ShitCoins all the time.  It's almost like they're all being paid to ignore IXC.  lol

I think they still doubt iXcoin's future.  iXcoin is a real enigma.  For years now everyone's been saying its demise is just around the corner, yet it just keeps going, silently getting stronger and stronger.  It's back to 26th position on coinmarketcap.com.  26th out of 542 coins.   That's the top 5% of all crypto currencies for market capitalization!!!   And it remains in the top four for network hash rate.  So that's the top 1% in security.

@ixco.in

I don't know how deep your pockets are, but think about some iXcoin ATM's on the streets of Hong Kong.  That would be so cool.

119  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ixcoin TODO on: October 24, 2014, 04:06:16 AM

ixco.in is in Hong Kong.  Looks like iXcoin is starting its Asian Invasion.

Awesome!  May I suggest you use IXC as a base currency for trading pairs to expand it's use.  No other exchange has IXC markets.  As examples the IXC markets would be like so, LTC/IXC, DRK/IXC, NMC/IXC, QRK/IXC ...
