Bytecoin has presented their core team. They seem like top notch professionals indeed. Well, I needn't to say that taking into account they've created CryptoNote source code and keep delivering the most significant updates.

I'm surprised they called me a part of their team! And, to be honest, it is a great honor for me Cheesy

i didn't read this whole thread, but if you need kittens donated, i will send you as many as you need, where is the address??
not the BCN address, but an actual address, to send the kittens to.
Post them here! But.. hmm... it should be kind of BCN-related kittens.

FYI I am the one who is responsible for BCN Community Website, not Harry Ullman.

DStrange, if you don't mind, some questions, I have an open mind.

1) When did you personally first become aware of bytecoin bcn?

2) Do you personally know any of the people who mined it during its secret phase?

Sorry for the delay in answering you. I haven't seen your post earlier.
1) March. This year. I was looking for BTE mining pool and found BCN website occasionally.
2) Yes, I do. But I haven't known them before I became interested in BCN.
106  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [BCN] Bytecoin (CPU-mining, true anonymity) on: July 03, 2014, 05:25:41 PM
OneEvil, no problem. You are welcome!
107  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [BCN] Bytecoin (CPU-mining, true anonymity) on: July 03, 2014, 04:33:53 PM
Almost all of it has come from automatic payouts from this pool - http://bcn.extremepool.org/#, mining using one 270 and CPU - payments range from 60 to 100 or several hundreds of BCN. Previously I had 5k BCN which were withdrawn from minergate and 2 hours ago I cleared some 62 BCN from there, to level my balances there - not sure did they arive since it's a small amount.

So that is the reason. You have a lot of small inputs that is why your transactions sizes are out of limits.
I guess you can transfer your coins to another  wallet (in order to generate bigger inputs) and use it instead.

A lot of users suffer from this problem caused by weird pool's payments
108  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [BCN] Bytecoin (CPU-mining, true anonymity) on: July 03, 2014, 03:18:56 PM
transfer <mix> <address> <amount> <payment_id>

Usually I use mixing count of 0... No need to hide anything. So...

Hmmm... That's strange. Have you transferred your coins from pool previously?
109  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [BCN] Bytecoin (CPU-mining, true anonymity) on: July 03, 2014, 02:50:35 PM
So peeps, any cure for that "transaction size limit" error in wallet? I can't send more than 15K BCN to the exchange 'cause of it...
Would really like to hear that I don't need to download the blockchain from a scratch...

What command do you use to make transfer?

what about errors i get in deamon?
transaction is too big.... transaction verification failed
?

I think that's because a lot of people still haven't updated their binaries.
So if you can get and send coins without problems you shouldn't worry about that messages. However I may be wrong

did downloaded new binaries, do i need to delete any old? i just put in new folder.
poolstate.bin i can't find

As a rule it is situated there: C:\Users\user\AppData\Roaming\bytecoin (for Win) or C:/HOME/user/.bytecoin (for Linux)

I've sent some bcn to poloni about 36 hours ago.
Not the first time im doing that, so everything was correct.
But, havent received anything @poloni, any1 knows what could be the problem?

Try to update your binaries and delete poolstate.bin.

The source code and the binaries were updated!

New Bytecoin version is the next step because of wallet and node API implementation. There are also optimizations for hash function, transaction pool, and wallet JSON RPC API. The binaries are in the downloads section as usual.

Is it a mandatory upgrade? I got loads of memory and everything is working/mining well.

Oh! and i am a lazy bastard!  Cheesy

Nope, but you'd better update your binaries because new hash function is ~1.5x faster on Linux than the previous one.

Well, I think the new website is pretty cool.
When BCN goes mainstream you don't want an obscure or 'cracker' type website encouraging the outside media types to trash the coin.
Like the previous poster said, the tech speaks for itself. BCN is the first and it's two years old. That's older than 99.9% of all the other cryptos out there.  Smiley
Obscure to me is better than a dishonest representation of the coin, which is exactly what all the fancy is all about. Why not keep a simple non-obscure design, and still present the whole picture to the users. There ought to be some sort of history summary, so that new people can get an honest overview of the coin. Investing in this coin is to have trust in the developers and stake holders.

The front page should consist of community news, not a gigantic picture.

BTW does the webdesigners have zero imagination? They all look the same.

News section on CryptoNote.org
We are happy to announce a news section on the cryptonote.org. The new section is dedicated to new developments, ideas and news from the CryptoNote realm. About two years ago the CryptoNote technology had only been represented by Bytecoin (BCN) but since then things have changed dramatically. Not only the number of Bytecoins has soared, the other coins such as Quazarcoin, Fantomcoin and Monero are taking the cryptocurrency world by storm. The CryptoNote community becomes very diverse and geographically disseminated therefore we believe it is our duty to spread the word and bring everyone at one place.  Just by clicking on the news tab you’ll have the latest account on what’s been going on with CryptoNote-based currencies along with fresh updates from the devs at hand. The idea is to turn this website into a vibrant pool of information accessible to anybody who wants to keep one's finger on the pulse of CryptoNote technology. If you are a CryptoNote enthusiast and you have some ideas worth sharing, please don’t hesitate to contact us at news@cryptonote.org

Thanks a lot for the announcement! We will surely inform you about latest BCN Community news.
