Paddings, margins, positioning ;> Fonts, too. UI design stuff. I'd love to help with UI programming, but I have a very little experience with cpp (if i'm correct), so I can only talk about how things should look and work.

http://coindrain.com/prt/mockup/
It is .NET and C#, and is impossible to make exact without jumping through many hoops due to nature of Windows.Forms, without spending inordinate amount of time trying to write hacks/tweaks - which then may break cross-platform on Mono.

Another way to put it - it's not like there is just screen and elements placed directly on it.  These are all nested hierarchies of controls some that are dynamically created at runtime.  I use FlowLayoutPanel and set paddings/margins based on what is in mockup, but it doesn't turn out as exact match.

Now if it is Windows only, I could make it exact much easier using newer technology.

Basically it is law of diminishing returns.

if the new wallet can still adjust the degree of opacity?
Yes, I left that feature in.

The Android wallet github is located here, forked from the quark one:

https://github.com/moonmooncoin/particle-wallet

Haven't pushed updates yet, when I do I will share the APK link for sideloading, need to test on my galaxy note 3 first.

Snotty did an amazing job with it, it looks very classy, I like it!

Almost there.  Trying to solve a few bugs.

where the hell is the new wallet like on the first page. Much time is over and nothing is done. Only babbel babbel babbel and take all bitcoins but do nothing new ... Ohh very great a marketing team is here now but no new features. How can you marketing this coin without the promised cool wallet ? Make the wallet and all people invested in this coin ...
The new wallet beta is coming shortly.  Keep attention.

But also keep in mind, this is not a corporate paid development project.  It is pretty rich to come in here and start making demands of an unpaid development team doing this as a volunteer effort.

I can help with android wallet development, but it will surely take time.
Don't worry about it, I've got it covered, but will need someone who wants to publish it.  Already had one person volunteer.

I'm just sorting out a few cases in the wallet that need to be handled, like the initial blockchain download when you start from scratch, .

logo and accent color  rgb 45,182,224
wallet background color rgb 238, 238, 238

One thing we should consider is placing ads within Bitcointalk and possibly Litecointalk.

Would be nice to see a large scale marketing plan come into action once we get the wallet out.
Reddit too.  Maybe Facebook but starts getting expensive.

If we can make that USB particle accelerator kit type thing mentioned awhile back, that would be great too, list them on ebay for a dollar to get cheap awareness.

You can pull the css by view source on the forum, or I can just send you the theme zip file.  But it is phpbb stuff, not intuitive.  I don't want to get sidetracked with that myself right now, I want to get the wallets out the door, but if you could hack together the css then I could just copy/paste somewhere in the theme...

News soon.  The timing of all of this should work out nice if we keep climbing the voting ranks and make it onto MintPal, Cryptsy etc.  I am extremely afraid people are holding and will dump in large amounts.  Please don't do that.  Smiley  I am hopeful that our technology will be enough to support price and that we will see actual trading in a nice range.  It is what it is I guess, but once we start dropping news we are going to quickly climb coinmarketcap and it is going to attract speculators.

I did not make the facebook page, somebody else did - actually there are a couple of them out there that people made.  Maybe they will come back and post.  We have a reddit.  I never set up a Twitter, probably would be good to get buzz on there but it is time consuming and "yet another thing" on the list.

Somebody sent an email asking me to update the theme on the forum - I actually bought that theme, its a premium theme and I like it Cheesy  In any event, I could change it but right now is not good time, its a couple hours of work to hack phpbb when you install themes, total pain that I don't want to deal with until after wallet release.  RIght now server is working things are stable, just want to leave it alone Wink

There are a couple of things that would help me preparing the drop if there is anyone who can write:

- Getting Started guide - this is what shows up now when you start the wallet or go to the getting started app.  RTF document.  Could somebody write up a nice introduction to crypto currencies, how it works, how a wallet works, etc. all the things that a newbie could read and understand?  I have some basic stuff, but it would be really nice to have something very complete with a lot of content.

- Android Particle wallet - is there anyone who would be willing to own the google developer account and publish this under your real name?  Please let me know by Sunday (March 9).

- Press Release - can somebody author a press release to coincide with the beta wallet release?  A real press release not an SEO press release (although if people want to write some SEO press releases too that could be helpful).  Could we have this by Sunday Mar 9 as well?

- Developer screencasts - following release of the beta and the developer API, it would be very good to generate some buzz by having some Channel 9 style screencasts showing developers how to make apps.  Is there anyone skilled enough to make some of these?  These could go out later this month, but it would be great to have some up front to get the buzz going on YouTube.

I am making a huge push on the beta today.  It is going to be a Particle spring.

I can help setup a ABE explorer.

The wallet download link is broken. Anywhere else I can download?

Btw is it working for WIN32?
Ah, yes the direct download link must have gone down when I stopped the web server.  It is up now so you can download.

Block explorer is operational again.  I have discover I was chasing my tail.  Part of problem was disk I/O error with blockfiles on server, because when I've been resizing server I was lazy and hit power off without stopping daemon first.  This is why it would crash on me on every reload at same place, I thought it was problem with block format, but it was just I/O problem.  Set it up from clean and all seems well.  Let me know if it has issue again, but it should be ok.  Server has much resources now.

Volume is so thin you could make price look like anything you want for little BTC.

In no order, while I wait for reload again...

- Block Explorer - maybe someone else can also take try at setting up a bitcoin-abe based block explorer.  I am working with the securecoin-abe fork of bitcoin-abe to try to make work now but it still hits bocks it doesn't like and bombs out updating database.  Should probably have another independent one running as backup anyway.  Warning: You will pull hair out and be bald doing this.  It is extremely time consuming.  It can be sorted but require hacking Python scripts and some mysql knowledge.

- Android Wallet.  Fork the bitcoin wallet on github and adapt for Particle.  May need special tweaks for quark based algorithm.  Maybe there is another fork to look at, have to do some research around github and look.  Should be pretty easy.  You'll need developer account with google to publish to Play Store.

- paper wallet

- reddit tip bot?  would anyone use it?  I don't ever see anybody on the reddit.

- If you're .net/c# developer, start looking at things like Hive to get ideas for app plugins  https://www.hivewallet.com/

- "App Store" - start thinking of graphic design/theme for this, if you know ASP.Net/MVC3 or 4 and have worked with MongoDB etc. that would be nice, we can setup a github for the back end.  The app store model is like the ubuntu launchpad.  The idea I had was that it would not store apps directly, but act as a directory with pointers to wherever the plugin file is hosted.  REST interface to be consume by wallet for searching directory.  I thought it would be nice if it acted in P2P way and could also both send a list of other known repositories and accept peer updates of repositories.  So then the wallet doesn't need to know where all the app stores are at the beginning, it can sync and discover them and display a list for user to choose from.  This should be clean and simple.  We could build support later maybe to host the files on Amazon S3 or something like this, but gets expensive so lets start with free way ;-)  You can look at AppHarbor, I believe they support a free tier for open source projects.

- social media / awareness / community building - everybody is generally quiet and not creating too much buzz, etc.  Tried to direct people to central place on the bitparticle forum but did not work out too well nobody participate.  reddit, twitter, etc.  blog posts.

- write guides, articles and posts for website for content marketing

- some cool infographics would be nice

- vote on mintpal

thats just brain dump from me, but i'm sure others here have ideas too... run with it so I can focus on getting the QT update out and core code done

yes, I know block explorer and forum is still down, I am working on it.  I did not sleep last night.  quark based coin and bitcoin-abe really do not like each other, abe choke on certain blocks because of slight differences.  I now started over and rebuilt with different fork of bitcoin-abe I found, hope this one work better but going through reloading process again.  Reload takes very long time with Particle as we have nearly 200,000 blocks now.  it is mind numbing i have been watching this scroll "block_tx 12345 12345" for over a week now over and over, hacking python scripts and reload/rescan again and again ;-)  But, I will make it work!  I must.  We need reliable Abe block explorer for other services to poll for data.  It is halfway through now...

MOON is this your address of PRT: Pjh1SXpcgaQ7bbbweXU1ioQUWcNtW4yZZx

I will ask fans to donation you
I appreciate the gesture, but it would probably be better to set up a fund for donations like bittick started many pages back, and try to organize the community with bounties to start getting some helping hands Wink  I think it is becoming obvious that Particle is a lot bigger than one person can hold up, need help so I can focus on development.  I stood up the block explorer because coinmarketcap is top of priority list, but these also take away time.  I was hoping someone out there would maintain reliable block explorer.  bitcoin-abe is high-maintenance / have to check it a lot, it is touchy with quark-algorithm coins and tends to get "stuck".  It is hours and hours of work to tweak and get working.

Anyway, I'd rather see donations directed for the benefit of the community and the expansion of the coin.

I have put a lot of time and real world money into Particle, and this coin is going to be huge, but we can't let it sink under its own weight.  I need to get the wallet out, I know, I am 2 weeks behind schedule on the release.  I am going to get it done.  I know nobody wants to keep hearing that :-)  it's coming...

So right now list is:

- get block explorer reloaded and up, increase resources on server (again) - in progress
- Do windows build of Particle-Qt wallet update, push source to github, package upload and release
- Publish thread and social media of wallet update / upcoming hardfork for block reward change
- Finish wallet graphics adjustments
- Package and release the wallet Beta 1

See, stuff piles onto the list Wink

I have had to start pushing some things to Beta 2.  So there will be two betas, Beta 1 which is wallet graphic design and core features and Beta 2 which will include the reference app store.

I am reloading the chaincollider database now.  Made some edits to bitcoin-abe code to handle quark-algorithm coin better.  Hopefully will be more stable.  It will take about an hour as it has to load over rpc.  While it is loading the bitparticle forum is also down.
