101  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] profit switching auto-exchanging pool - middlecoin.com on: January 05, 2014, 05:11:00 AM
Most of us have spent good $ on these efforts. I would bet that almost everyone here are still not profitable.
I make daily profit from the US server every day i've mined here, so let me know what you bet.

if you are losing money on 4% fees + 0.6% inefficiency, your margins are too slim to justify mining.

Who said anything about losing money?

Not profitable does not equal losing $.

Many here have recently started, myself included. Weather you are running 100Mhash, or 1 MHash, it still is about 1-2 months before break even.

For those of you who do "nothing", well, speak for yourselves only.

Agreed, my hashrate has been hosed down ~5% since these issues began. 0.6% would be a great improvement until the bug can be fixed.

Also, a break on fees would indeed be a nice gesture due to the above.

Agreed.

What are the benefits to the later versions of CGMIner?

Im using 3.1.0 for a while now, never saw a reason to update-

Strange. Have you dug into CGminer to actually see what is happening on a minute-by-minute basis? My three rigs have often switched over to different pools I am a part of and then switched back. Also, lots of get work failures and dropped shares due to switching. If you aren't paying attention, it could be easy to miss. Not sure what your experience level is, so please forgive me if any of my possible scenarios sound condescending, as that is not my intent. I just know it took me a few days to REALLY realize there was a serious issue, and I had to dig a little to see what that was. I strive to be a set-it-and-forget-it kind of miner, due to being busy. If things truly have worked flawlessly for you, I'm happy for you (and super curious as to why)!!!

Wow i am def a noob lol

Usin CGMiner I see the disconnects now- looks like it happens pretty often. I guess I didn't notice much due to the payouts being pretty similar over the past week.

Thanks for the update, H2O, from me, as well! I look forward to things returning to normal at middlecoin. And for anyone who has been reading about all the recent issues and scratching their heads wondering what to do, I will say that when things work well at middlecoin, they truly work incredibly well for everyone involved. That's no joke, and H2O deserves serious props for that! As for Sykal, what's your secret? I'd love to make it through the weekend employing it. Are you somehow directly linked to the Amazon server base? Years of mining experience? A Jedi Master? Pray, do tell.  Roll Eyes

I dunno, im on 3333 US pool, (fios internet connection), and have 3 mining rigs hooked up. Been perfectly fine for a week now, without any disconnects.

I've been running for a week now on US server without any issues what so ever.

Middlecoin is an investment? Here I was thinking it was a pool.
I didn't realize it was Middlecoin Bitcoin Fund, Co.

A pool is used to form a network of hash, he is auto trading which is nice, but if he is holding onto those coins that WE mined, that's not right.
If we want to hold onto the coins we earned, that's for us to decide.

His job is to keep the pool alive, *trade, and payout...and he gets a nice fee for his efforts.

He's not doing all those parts.

h2o's job is to run the pool for the highest profits, which he is doing. If you don't like how he runs it, take 30 seconds and point your miners somewhere else.

I'm sorry you don't see the concern with holding onto your coins in the hope that they will be profitable.
I like everything else about Middlecoin.
I don't like the fact that he is trying out investment strategies with other peoples money.
It's great when it's up, but maybe I'm the only one thinking of the other possibility.

I would rather there be a cutoff. I am mining coins for $, not for investment.
That's my choice, not the pool owners.

You're correct. Its your choice to mine at middlecoin not the pool owners. Don't like it then leave.

Good attitude to have about someone else investing your $.

What i'm getting at is that it is your choice. I choose to invest in middlecoin with my hash rate because I believe it is a sound investment for the amount of time I put in. Sure, if I didn't have a day job and could hop around coins and manually trade all day then it might not be the best choice but I do have a job and can't.

What my problem is with your attitude is you are choosing to invest in the pool and then complaining that you are investing in the pool. Literally no one is forcing you to mine here.

Why do some people have a lot of unexchanged coins, and why do some people have not? I did have a lot of them, but they are exchanged.
My guess is that it depends on which coin he/she has been mining. As noted by h20, the EU server is mining doge only and I'm guessing there's autotrading setup for that coin. For users on the US server though, more "exotic" coins are being mined and in those cases, the trading is done manually and less frequently.

Manual trading?
If that's the case, that's a big negative.

By the time he gets around to it, the coin might be worthless-
If he is auto-trading on the EU server, I'm not sure why the same isn't done for the US. We all have a lot of unexchanged that are just sitting.

There must be a reason why his holding on to the coins, for example would you rather dump the coins for 0.000081 or 0.000089.. offcourse the later and this may be the difference of $10-$40 when all you had to do was wait . No work from your end other than wait. Not bad I think, anyway I am just trying to see the positive side to it.

I have about .025 BTC that has just been sitting in my unexchanged for at least a couple of days.  I pulled my rigs off of middlecoin so that I could mine a different coin for awhile and it seems like coins stop exchanging if you stop mining?  Either that or I just happen to have some coins that never auto-traded because the sell is too high?  Just curious if anyone knows how long it will take to move the coins over to exchanged.

Thanks!

Hopefully someone responds to this, having same issue

So what's the next new coin to mine? I tried to go mooncoin right from the beginning when it was released.... that was a big letdown Sad
Now I'm back on middlecoin until I find a new coin announcement.

I think dogecoin is still very profitable-
