101  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Am I late to the party? on: July 07, 2018, 05:54:46 AM
As many have said, it is late but not too late. Go for it, buy some eth and sit on it for awhile. I wouldn't recommend you to trade, as it seems you are very new to this research some other coins, projects with future and invest there too and sit on them for awhile. If you are interested in trading cus you find it fun (like I do) set an amount just for that, I never play with more than 25%, the rest sits tight and nice. I've been able to make money both ways, but the trading bit is just for kicks cus I like it and I've been lucky but I'm prepared to lose that money. There's a lot of info on the internet.
102  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is NEO still worth investing in? on: July 06, 2018, 02:21:55 AM
Predictions are useless right now anyway. The market is fucked and crashing, the only good news is that 90% off clearance discounts are coming to an exchange near you. Vaperware coins worth BILLIONS makes no sense, Bitcoin is still overvalued IMO, and it’s a shitty time to release any news since the market sux. I love Neo but it will take some time to settle. Personally, I believe Neo will come down to around $40 once Bitcoin really makes its drop in the next week or two. I also believe Ethereum is still overvalued. I hate to admit all of this but it’s unfolding right in front of us
103  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Top 2 altcoins to invest in NOW. on: July 06, 2018, 01:30:08 AM
Siacoin is basically dubbed as a decentralized storage coin that will compete with cloud storages like Amazon, Dropbox and other similar businesses.

How it works is that you need a certain number of Siacoin to use the service and you can also rent out storage space to others for a certain fee. As the coins are limited, perhaps the value may still go up.

And Ties.Network satisfies the need of crypto-community to connect and the need to secure P2P business transactions in a new counter-economy. Today the community is fragmented and connections are fragile for two reasons. It’s still a new market (though it’s growing rapidly), and because it is so new, it is hard to find professionals one can immediately trust and strike a deal with. Ties.Network aims at resolving the issue of trust for crypto-community on a fundamental level by giving people opportunities to find each other and do business in a new, yet safe environment in accordance with the principles of decentralized economy.
104  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: what exactly are we waiting for? on: July 06, 2018, 12:20:03 AM
Don’t sell/buy on emotions. A quick search in this community and you’ll find story after story of people panic selling when the price drops or buying high because they are afraid of missing out. Don’t make this mistake! If you truly believe in what your investing and you are holding for the long-term then it doesn’t matter what happens from day to day. When the price drops, that is a perfect opportunity to buy more, not sell. If you can’t handle the ups and down of the Crypto Market then you probably shouldn’t invest. Don’t be one of those guys who buys high, sells low.
105  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: WIll ETH pass BTC in 2019 ? on: June 29, 2018, 03:28:19 AM
Bitcoin will likely be #1 in terms of price, but not in terms of % growth when you consider altcoins. I still hold BTC it's a good investment and has upward momentum, but it's good to diversify crypto holdings. BTC has turned into more of a market index, a very crude comparison would be the S&P or DOW for stocks, and is more useful as an overall indicator of the crypto market direction. A lot of altcoins and the big 4 have their prices generally tracking movements in BTC price.
106  Economy / Economics / Re: Possible effect of potential billionaire investor? on: June 29, 2018, 02:53:11 AM
Yeah I think that because bitcoin is more like a currency / store of value, it's going to be really interesting if it eats into the notional value of gold (in the trillions, 4 or 5 trillion?) or into the notional value of FOREX (in the quadrillions).

I don't have a crystal ball, but the numbers get nuts really fast.

Bitcoins current price reflects what the Market thinks right now what the future value is (in tension), so right now the Market doesn't agree .... but the higher the price goes (if the liquidity and volume is there too), the more bitcoin can do and the higher it can go.
107  Economy / Economics / Re: What profit has brought you to bitcoin? on: June 29, 2018, 02:49:22 AM
I believe it will be a vital pillar in the global economic system of the future. Sorry, but I do.

I do not intend to ever "cash out". I intend to build a family home, financed entirely by Bitcoin, paid in BTC to tradesmen who accept BTC.

I believe we will value other currencies not against 1.0BTC but against 1 satoshi.

I believe anyone who owns more than 1.0BTC today will be setting their descendants up for many generations of prosperity.

I suspect we aren't far from a major meltdown on the stock markets, and I think there's a small but non-zero chance that there will be a day, a specific day, when people who can't convert their fiat to some crypto (not necessarily BTC) really really fast, will simply be left holding fists full of totally useless fiat cash. It has happened before.
108  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin and Future of Economy! on: June 29, 2018, 01:30:35 AM
Bitcoin right now is severely undervalued. Because there's no real need yet for the switch. In the sense that when the QE hyperinflation starts showing in the downtrends of THEIR epic bubble, that's the time when they will be flocking like lemmings to get a tiny share of the pie. If you know BTC is worth 1 mill in 5 years, would you think 1,000 USD/BTC today is expensive?

Nobody recalls hyperinflation, go back to USA 30ies after the 1929 stock crash. Few believe there'll be another crash or crisis. We had the exact 10 years necessary to forget the past. Collective memory is a decade, that's universal.

You can dam up water and avoid gravity, but if there's a hole you can't mend, water will be seeking the path of least resistance towards earth.
109  Economy / Economics / Re: Do you think there is institutional manipulation of the Bitcoin price? on: June 28, 2018, 02:54:42 AM
I've always made decisions based off greater sentiment, bitcoin is getting more and more popular. "The difference" this time over previous times is that instead of just asking about it and going "oh yeah that sounds cool", they're actually buying a small amount and trying it out. All their mates see them make a gain and want in, that drives the price, I know four people who last year were telling me bitcoin is stupid but are now holding BTC LTC and ETH. Obviously this drives the price up.

Is there a greater chance that this is what's happening (0bviously combined with some institutional buying) or, is it more likely that there is a global conspiracy of bankers who want to destroy bitcoin?

And if there is a global conspiracy, what is the solution? Sell all our bitcoin? To my mind the answer, as always, just fucking HODL. see where bitcoin is three years from now.
110  Economy / Economics / Re: Tax on the crypto currency! What do you think? on: June 28, 2018, 01:58:07 AM
Cryptocurrency to Cryptocurrency should not result in an immediate capital gain, that's literally how they tax the fuck out of you. Then you have to sell back to said currency then to USD just to realize profits on these extremely volatile assets.
111  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is Ethereum a good investment? on: June 27, 2018, 04:24:44 AM
I’m confident that Ethereum will be the dominate crypto platform for the next few years. Valuation of crypto is being driven by a bubble (not fundamentals) and I think the bubble will carry us through 2018 when, hopefully, we’ll be in a better position to be evaluated on fundamentals. My primary concern is ‘black swan’ events during 2018.
112  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What is best PoS coin to invest into right now? on: June 27, 2018, 01:33:45 AM
i Think is Neo, and here's why Neo is a platform, similar to Eth, but more extensive, allowing dapps and smart contracts, but with a different smart contract gas system, consensus mechanism (PoS vs. dBfT), governance model, fixed vs unfixed supply, expensive contracts vs nearly free contracts, different ideologies for real-world adoption. There are currently only 9 nodes, each of which are being run by a company/entity hand selected by the NEO council (most of which are located in china) and are under contract. This means that although the locations of the nodes may differ, ultimately the neo council can bring them down due to their legal contracts. In fact, this has been done in the past when the neo council was moving 50 million neo that had been locked up. Also dbft (or neo's implmentation of it) has failed underload causing network outages during major icos. The first step in decentralization is that the NEO Counsel will select trusted nodes (Universities, business partners, etc.) and slowly become less centralized that way. The final step in decentralization will be allowing NEO holders to vote for new nodes, similar to a DPoS system (ARK/EOS/LISK). NEO has a regulation/government friendly ideology. Finally they are trying to work under/with the Chinese government in regards to regulations. If for some reason they wanted it shut down, they could just shut it down.
113  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How centralized is EOS? on: June 26, 2018, 09:46:44 PM
Decision making is one of the most important ones and what's important is who's in control.

EOS is decentralized through voting. top 21 of thousands of block producers form a temporary panel. Any action they do can be undone via voting other block producers in. (at which time fired block producers loses income for up to rest of time - enormous opportunity cost)

This is why everything like protocol changes, freezing of accounts, and so on has time delays like 30 days to give voters time to react:
114  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 80% of ICOs are Scams on: June 26, 2018, 04:22:04 AM
th for all we know they may have counted bch because they kept hearing it being called a scam by the core trolls. with a number as high as 80% i wouldn't be surprised if joke cryptos like doge coin or garlicoin are counted as scams too. the "study" is meaningless if we can't even check which cryptos they evaluated.
115  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: should now sell coin or not on: June 26, 2018, 03:25:01 AM
You have to calculate the % gain to recover your losses. It takes exponentially more gains to cover a loss.

It takes: 11% to cover 10% loss, 18% to cover 15% loss, 43% to cover 30% loss,
100% to cover 50% loss, and 300% to cover 75% loss.

So it depends on how down you are and how much you expect a new investment to rise. It’s smart to have a risk management strategy before you buy. Know what price target you’ll sell at, and what price target you’d buy in, and know how much loss you’re willing to suffer in the short term on a position. In general, it’s not wise to sell at a loss unless you don’t expect those losses to recover faster than your new investment would cover those losses, or unless you think the price would continue to drop farther to a point that your new buy position will cover your losses, and become profitable, before reaching the price you originally sold at.
116  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are. You leaving crypto? on: June 26, 2018, 02:09:47 AM
I guess you didn't pay attention when the internet started and all the "experts" said the same thing about the number of websites in existence... Look at it now. Every Business, Person, and their Animal pretty much has a website or webpage online, no need to leave an upcoming market that could have a huge impact in the world
117  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Best altcoin to hold for long term? on: June 25, 2018, 02:17:06 AM
NEO has surprised me lately, it's quite good, many say it's the Chinese ethereum, and I think it will be successful regardless of what china do with the ICOs. Neo is going to help create an entire smart economy, which is where they see the future of blockchain. You don't need ICOs to be legalized in China for this to happen.
118  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Bounty Rewards: Sell immediately or HODL? on: June 24, 2018, 11:52:39 PM
After I received my tokens I will observe the token development and if it has a potential in pumping up because maybe I'm going to wait till its going to pump up and if it's not I'm going to convert my money and look to another token for investment.
119  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: What are the best bounties? on: June 24, 2018, 02:39:40 AM
Hello guys!

thank you for your time,

as you can see i'm new here , i just want to know what is the best type of bounties in term of returns $ ?

1. signature (i don't have access to it)

2. videos and articles ( i can do videos in english)

3. social media

Signature is very good because is almost passive money, you have to place several useful posts a week, the only bad thing is that you have to have a certain reputation as a poster, you can lean more to the social media part that has no other request but to have followers and move around the net.
120  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Decentralized Exchange VS Centralized Exchange. on: June 24, 2018, 12:52:50 AM
The blockchain and cryptocurrency space have been built on a philosophy of decentralization and the advantages that it brings. However, this same philosophy has not carried over to how the majority of users are conducting trades within the space. Decentralized exchanges continue to be overlooked for their centralized counterparts, that do currently offer significantly better trading functionalities. However, as the development of decentralized exchanges progresses, it may be likely that we see a shift in preference to the more decentralized model.
